The Young and the Restless Recap September 4: Logan Attacks Marie, Diane Gets Stuck, Nate Has Surgery

TL;DR: In today’s The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, September 4th, 2026, Nick rushes to help Marie after her abusive husband Logan falls and appears unconscious, while Nate prepares for surgery with Stephanie by his side. Meanwhile, Lily pushes Devon to give Holden a chance, and Jack and Diane discover a mysterious message in a bottle in Tahiti.

The Young and the Restless Recap September 4

At Nate’s, Stephanie encouraged him about his surgery and said he’d quickly catch up on all the new technology once he was a doctor. Stephanie reminded him that today, he wasn’t the doctor; he was the patient, and asked if they could make a stop along the way.

Lily Challenges Devon

At Crimson Lights, Devon was stoked about building the Neil Winters school. Lily said that she hadn’t seen him this energized in a long time. She told him Billy backed off on the Chancellor issue.

Devon said to look at it like a gift: Billy was giving them more time to prepare. Lily agreed that she and Cane thought the archives might have helpful information. Devon said he was rooting for her… from the sidelines.

Devon told Lily that he was always on her side, even if he didn’t agree with what she was doing or who she was doing it with. Lily told him to prove it by getting to know Holden, but Devon wasn’t interested.

Lily shared that Billy tried to get Holden to join him, and he almost did. Devon thought that proved that Holden couldn’t be trusted, but Lily disagreed. She said that when Lily assured him that they were family, Holden chose her, too. 

Devon reluctantly agreed to give Holden a chance. Lily told him that she’d like it if both of her brothers could get along. Behind them, Nate and Stephanie walked in. When Nate realized she’d arranged for them to be there for pre-surgery support, he hugged her. 

Stephanie Brings Nate to the Hospital

Lily and Devon noticed how well Stephanie and Nate got along and how close they were. She said she might need to cook for him while he healed and noted what a great chef he was. 

Lily and Devon wished Nate good luck in his operation. After he and Stephanie left, Devon noted that Stephanie had really been stepping up for Nate.

Not long later, Stephanie returned and said that she’d dropped off Nate. He didn’t want the chief of staff hanging around making everyone nervous, she explained with a laugh.

Diane Finds A Mystery In A Bottle

In Tahiti, Diane and Jack returned to their room with an old bottle that she’d found that washed up on shore. Diane realized there was a note inside. Jack popped the cork and tried to get it out, but it was stuck.

Diane tried it herself. Instead, she got her finger stuck in the bottle. Jack teased her but eventually put some suntan lotion on her finger to make it pop out. The only problem was her ring then fell inside the bottle. 

Jack made Diane play along with him using magic, and when he turned the bottle over, the ring and the message fell out. He suggested it really was magical, then opened the note to read: “Is all love lost?” Diane and Jack talked about that message and how they recently pondered that same question but agreed they would be together forever.

Marie and Nick Struggle in Rehab

At the rehab, Nick talked himself through a craving. Behind him, Marie walked in and pretended she didn’t notice that he was jonesing. She tried to make a joke about his popularity, but he was on edge and asked when the next meeting was.

He was going to leave, but he could tell something was bothering Marie, so he urged her to tell him what was on her mind. Marie admitted she was really scared. She said that her husband was coming that day to discuss their divorce.

Marie told Nick she was ready for the divorce, but the way her husband talked to her freaked her out. She said he was a bully and so judgy. Nick offered to be with her when he came or deal with it for her but she didn’t want to put him on the line when he had his own demons to deal with.

Marie admitted that she needed a hit so bad but promised not to beg Nick to find her a hit. She said that scoring drugs right now would give her husband Logan a win and he’d use it against her in court. Nick told her he wouldn’t let her give up on herself. “I already have,” she cried.

Nick told her that she hadn’t or she wouldn’t be there. He said that they were going to go to the meeting together and beat it. “Together. Both of us,” Nick said. As Marie nodded her head, Logan walked in.

Marie’s Husband Pays A Visit

Nick noticed Marie’s husband and the two separated a little on the couch. Nick stood up as Logan introduced hismelf. Nick only gave him his first name but within minutes, Logan recognized him and excitedly told Marie that her “buddy” was Nicholas Newman. 

Marie reminded Logan that he would have had to sign an NDA to get in there, but he shrugged that it must have leaked already that Victor  Newman’s son was in there. 

Nick told him that the goal was getting clean, and staying anonymous helped with that. Logan asked Nick coldly to leave him and Marie alone to talk. Nick wouldn’t leave until Marie told him it was okay but even then, he waiting on the other side of the wall and listened.

Logan told Marie she was stepping up in the world, befriending a Newman, but she said it wasn’t like that and that she and Nick were just helping each other recover.

Logan Takes A Fall

Logan asked if Marie was bad-mouthing him to Nick, but she said she hadn’t mentioned him at all. “You better be telling me the truth because it would make me look bad if he or his family were spreading a bunch of lies about me,” he sneered.

“Would they be lies, Logan? Because I”m the only one who knows who you really are,” Marie countered. “Still the victim, huh,” Logan snapped. He told her he’d only come there to take one last look at his biggest mistake before cutting her loose like the trash she is. 

Logan moved towards Marie, but she said he couldn’t hurt her anymore. “Is that so? Is your boyfriend going to save you?” Logan asked menacingly. Nick listened as Marie said he wasn’t her boyfriend.

He asked if they were sleeping together, but as she denied it, he grabbed her and squeezed her face. Marie yelled, “Stop it!” and pushed him away; Logan fell down. Nick ran in when he heard the crash.
After calming Marie, Nick went to wake up Logan but he wasn’t moving. Nick bent over and felt his neck for a pulse. He told Marie to go to her room and let him deal with it. “Is he dead? Did I kill him?” Marie gasped.
