The Young and the Restless Recap October 2: Nick Claims He Let Joe Walk Away But Has The Marks To Prove He Didn’t

TL;DR: In today’s The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, October 2nd, 2026, Victoria opens up to Kyle about her fears for Nick, Chelsea and Audra fake a truce over Sally’s wedding, and Nick meets with Detective Burrow after confronting his drug dealer.

The Young and the Restless Recap October 2

Kyle ran into Audra at Crimson Lights, but there was nothing she could say to make him upset, although she tried. He headed to the love shack and awoke Victoria, who had slept on the couch. She had a nightmare about Victoria finding out about their affair. In her dream, he’d yelled at her for being with an Abbott and said he and Nikki were ashamed of her.

When Kyle woke her up, Victoria didn’t want to be with him or explain why she’d spent the night and didn’t tell him she was there. She was clearly upset but acted like he was her enemy. Eventually, Kyle got her to open up to him, and she told him about Nick.

Victoria said Nikki’s alcoholism was different. She worried that Nick could die in an instant from taking pills. Kyle tried to assure her that would never happen, but then admitted he couldn’t see into Nick’s future and didn’t really know. He decided to just listen as Victoria shared her concerns, and cried that Nick wouldn’t talk to her when he was upset. 

Kyle pointed out she didn’t really relate to anything Nick was going through. Victoria noted that could have been why he didn’t want to talk. Kyle comforted her, saying Nick was surrounded by people who loved him, and that was what he needed.

Chelsea Offends Audra

At GCAC, Chelsea and Adam talked about Nick and how he’d been adamant about going after Joe the night before. Adam worried Nick was just transferring his anger toward Matt onto Joe and that he was going to get into real trouble. He went to look for Nick to check in on him.

On his way out, Adam ran into Sally. She asked if he was going to come to the wedding; Adam told her he’d like to be Chelsea’s plus one as long as the groom was okay with it. Chelsea said she was sure it would be okay. 

After he left, Sally joined Chelsea, who’d watched them talk and saw Adam feel the baby kick. Sally said he told her he was coming to the wedding; Chelsea hoped that Sally was okay with it. Sally said she’d like it if the four of them could be in the same room together. 

Chelsea wanted to talk about an idea she had for Sally’s bachelorette, but Audra joined them and reminded Chelsea that she was planning the party and she should have brought her ideas to her instead of Sally. When Sally stepped away, Chelsea asked what Audra’s problem was with her and wondered if she was jealous.

Audra tersely told Chelsea she was the one who picked up the pieces when Adam told Sally he’d cheated on her and was in love with Chelsea. She reminded Chelsea that Sally had just lost her child, and then Adam too, and asked how she could be her bridesmaid now. She credited Sally with getting past it, but noted that she didn’t have to.

Chelsea and Audra Pretend To Get Along

When Sally came back, Audra told Chelsea to share her idea and that they were excited to hear it. Chelsea suggested that instead of a sash at her bachelorette party, Sally carry a clutch that said ‘bride.’ Audra yawned that it sounded grandma-chic when she mentioned embroidery. 

Instead of bickering, Chelsea told Sally that while she was on the phone, Audra apologized to her for her tone and wanted to put their past differences behind them. Audra went along with the lie, claiming they could just pretend like all the bad stuff never happened. Sally thanked them for giving her the best wedding present ever.

Nick Has a Bruised Hand

Nick walked into the main house at the ranch, irritated that Nikki thought he used again overnight. He said he was tired of it being everyone’s first thought, but Adam showed up to say the same. Victor questioned everything he’d done the night before as well, while Adam chirped that Nick was after Joe when he saw him.

Adam also asked Nick if he’d talked to the police yet, as he saw Detective Burrow at the club the night before, who said he wanted to talk to Nick. Victor asked questions, but Nick kept them all guessing what it was about, saying that Burrow had his number and knew how to reach him.

Just then, Victor got a call from the guards at the gate, announcing that Detective Burrow was there with a uniformed cop. Victor told them Nick wasn’t home and he didn’t know where he was. “So you’re lying to the police now?” Nick snapped. 

Victor had lots of questions, so Nick told him that he’d called his dealer to buy pills. Nikki freaked, but he explained it was a setup, and he’d called Detective Burrows to be there for it. Nick said the plan was that Det. Burrow would be listening as he got a confession out of Joe. However, Nick claimed the police didn’t show, so he just went home.

Nick Meets With Burrow

Victor had a hard time believing that after wanting to hunt Joe down, he’d just let him walk away. Nick said he didn’t let him, but he had no choice, as Joe could tell he was stalling. He showed his bruised knuckles and admitted things got heated, but said he’d gone home so Joe wouldn’t see him with the police when they showed up. Nick decided to call Burrow himself and asked when they could meet.

Nick went to Crimson Lights and met with Burrow, who was just as upset as Nick that their plan didn’t work. He said that he got there, and Nick and Joe weren’t there. Nick explained that Joe got antsy and he very politely asked him to be patient. Burrow saw Nick’s hand and noted the sarcasm. 

Nick suggested that Burrow could match Joe’s inventory to what was in Marie’s system. Burrow told Nick he knew about Marie’s husband and what happened in the rehab and warned him not to take matters into his own hands with Joe. After Burrow left, Nick had a flashback to being in the alley and punching the lights out of Joe.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Nikki was bothered that Nick didn’t want to meet with Burrow there. Adam told her Nick wanted to deal with it himself, but she and Victor wondered if Nick just didn’t want them to know what was really going on. Victor even wondered if Nick had already handled Joe himself.
