The Young and the Restless Recap May 8: Matt Clark Punches Noah, Adam Makes a Shocking Confession to Chelsea

“TL;DR: In today’s Young and the Restless recap, Matt Clark bumps into Noah with his fist when he attacks him, and Nick reveals his drug addiction to Victoria. Adam confesses to Chelsea about his returning urge to embrace his Spider life.

The Young and the Restless Recap May 8

At the Newman Ranch main house, Adam was on the phone with Spence, his former editor at Newman Media. He told him that he liked the headlines he’d gotten out where he was working about Victor taking down Cane and Phyllis.

Chelsea came in, and he hung up, and she asked about Billy and if Victor’s plan all along was to include him in the arrests. Chelsea didn’t think Billy deserved it, and worried how his kids would react. 

Adam didn’t care what happened to Billy, and wished she didn’t either. He didn’t want his niece and nephew hurt, but said if Billy did something, he needed to be held accountable.

Adam was sure that Phyllis would fold. Chelsea thought if the evidence was planted, then whoever gave it to the D.A. should be worried, and the premature victory dance could blow up in all of their faces.

Chelsea wasn’t happy when Riza called Adam. He was overly friendly, saying he was just thinking about her and chalking it up to their connection.

Adam Makes A Confession to Chelsea

Riza asked Adam to come back as Spider for a game, but he declined. When he hung up, Chelsea asked how far into his Spider role he had to go to get Riza to give him information on Matt.

Adam assured her that everything between him and Adam was platonic. Chelsea said that Riza implied there was more to their relationship than business. Adam insisted Riza played mind games for a living, and it was all in the past anyway.

Chelsea noted that she saw him shuffling cards happily earlier, and there had been a lot of poker terms in his dialogue lately. Adam laughed at her observations.

However, Adam said he’d also be honest. He told Chelsea that he did get a rush going back ot tha tlife, and that he’d been fighting off the urge since coming home.

Nick Misses Matt

At the GCAC bar, a kinder, friendlier Matt chatted to Phyllis about what it’s like to live in Genoa City. Behind them, Nick got a call from Noah and had to leave to take it before he saw Matt.

Phyllis told Matt that the small town was full of gossip, and they had some more laughs until he finished his beer and went to go explore the city. 

Matt walked behind Nick and out the door, and he never noticed him. Nick hung up and went to a table, ignoring Phyllis. She walked out when Victoria came in to join Nick.

Nick Tells Victoria About His Addiction

Victoria said Nikki wouldn’t tell her anything about what happened in Vegas with him and Adam, so she went to Nick to find out what happened. He told her the whole story from beginning to end. He hesitated when he tried to tell her about his addiction.

Nick told Victoria that she was his best friend and didn’t want to hurt her, but wanted her to know that it was under control before he blurted out that he was addicted to drugs.

Nick promised he was going to the rehab that Sharon set up for him. Victoria made him promise not to shut her out and come to her whenever he needed.

Lauren Strategizes With Phyllis

Phyllis came to the office and ranted to Lauren about how tired she was of people treating her like a villain and blamed everything on Cane. Lauren finally got her to stop so she could talk. 

Lauren told her that the deal they had was falling through, and that her reputation, arrest, and the exodus of department heads were taking a toll. She worried that things would unravel too much before she could clear her name or get to court.

Phyllis calmly explained that she couldn’t give in. She told Lauren she appreciated how she stood by her but would understand if she wanted to bail. Lauren refused.

Lauren said she wasn’t worried about herself; she was concerned about how much Phyllis was taking on and wondered if it would be too much for even Phyllis to bear.

Noah Runs Into Audra

Noah went to the Chancellor Park Cafe and ran into Audra. She told him how she’d tried to share a table with her, and she wrecked it. Noah said family gossip told him it was about Kyle. “You don’t really have a thing for Kyle, do you?” he asked.

Audra dismissed most of her history with Kyle and said that Claire was just jealous. She got worked up and told him that the “psycho girl who tried to kill his family” was still alive and well inside.

Noah thought it was a good time to get a coffee and went inside. While he walked away, Matt walked up and stopped to stare at Audra.

Audra looked up and said, “Mitch? You can’t be here!” but before he could talk, Noah returned and yelled at him, calling him Matt as he tackled him.

“Call my dad,” Noah told Audra. She called Nick as Noah told Matt he should kill him right there and then. “Do you know who I am?” Matt asked earnestly.  

Matt Asks Who He Is

Noah kept telling Matt what he should do to him, but he asked him to back off. “She’s calling me Mitch; you’re saying Matt. Please…please…just tell me who I am,” Matt said, as he asked for a minute.

Audra told Noah she didn’t have his dad’s number, and she tried calling his grandfather, but he screened her call. 

Noah accused Matt of all the things he did and said he didn’t believe he knew who he was. Matt insisted he didn’t, but Noah went back to threatening him, and when he moved towards him, Matt punched him in the face and took off.

Noah called Nick and told him that he’d just seen Matt. Nick was just saying goodbye to Victoria and rushed out the door of GCAC to get there.
