At Crimson Lights, Holden ran into Claire and told her that Cane was officially a match for Malcolm. He said Malcolm was doing his preliminary prep work with the doctors, and Cane would fly out soon.

Holden was considering flying to New York City to be there for the transplant, and Claire hinted that she’d never been. Holden asked if she wanted him to ask her to come with him, and she teased that they were compatible travel companions.

As they sat down, Claire rephrased that she wouldn’t impose or make a trip like that about her. Holden agreed that it wasn’t a vacation, but he could use the support.

Holden confided in Claire about his feelings on finding out Malcolm and Lily were his family. Claire understood the process as she’d been through it herself.

Claire brought up Audra and his past with her, and that she still felt like he wasn’t telling her the whole story. She joked that she’d come to NYC with him if he told her. Holden took her up on it.

Cane is Arrested

At GCAC, Lily and Cane bantered as they sipped a nostalgic drink from when they were together. Talk shifted to Malcolm and how Cane was ready to go to New York when Malcolm was ready, in about a week.

Cane offered for them to fly together, and Lily agreed. They were enjoying each other’s company quite a bit when they were interrupted by Christine, who announced his arrest and had him handcuffed in front of all of his dining room and hotel guests and employees.

Cane snapped at Christine for it. She agreed it wasn’t the most ideal place, but said it had to be done.

Cane told Lily it wasn’t true and that Victor was up to something. “I don’t care about this right now. Christine, please, this arrest cannot happen,” Lily pleaded.

Christine told them that Cane might not make bail, and even if he did, the judge probably wouldn’t let him leave the state. Cane promised Lily that he would get bail and go to New York as planned.

As Christine took Cane away, Nate came in. Lily told him what was happening and panicked about what it meant for Malcolm. Nate suggested that she talk to Christine and explain the situation.

Lily called Christine to meet with them, so she came back. While they waited, Nate laid into Lily about not reuniting with Cane.

Christine returned, and Lily told her that she had a big favor to ask. She told her about Malcolm and begged her to help with the judge to be able to travel, but Christine didn’t know if it was possible.

Billy Tracks Down Phyllis

At Summers Conglomerate, Phyllis talked to her head of PR and told him what to tell the press as Billy came in. He came at Phyllis for dragging him into her mess and wondered how she could have been so sloppy.

Phyllis told Billy that she’d seen all the emails and the lawyers would get them, but she didn’t send them any more than he did. She said he knew she’d never do anything so stupid and that all the emails were fake.

Phyllis and Billy surmised it was Victor’s doing. Billy told Phyllis that Sally was pregnant and he didn’t want to get involved in any of it. “Look at you, stepping up. Congratulations, I guess?” Phyllis said.

Phyllis told Billy that she had a good case and not to worry because Michael was sure he could prove that Victor fabricated evidence.

Billy had no confidence in Michael since he considered Victor a father figure, and pointed out that he wasn’t there for his other long-time friend, Diane, when she needed.

Just then, Michael walked in, slammed the door, and told Billy to worry about his own defense rather than how he was going to handle Phyllis’ case.

Billy told Michael he wouldn’t be dragged into anything as he had nothing to do with it. “Don’t even think about throwing me under the bus,” he warned. Billy said he knew enough to hang Phyllis and Cane out to dry and would do so without hesitation if needed.

“Good luck,” he said on his way out the door. Once alone, Michael told Phyllis that Cane had been arrested.

Phyllis asked Michael what their strategy would be. She suggested they pin it on Cane, which Michael thought wasn’t a bad idea.

Phyllis asked if Michael ever heard Victor talk about the emails but he said they needed proof. “We’re here because you stole Victor’s company from him,” Michael reminded her. Phyllis snapped, “That is the last time I want to hear you say that.”

Billy went home and told Sally that Phyllis and Cane were arrested, but he’d dodged a bullet so far. Sally hoped that Billy wouldn’t be charged; Billy thought it was too big of a risk for Victor.

Sally worried about the whole thing and what would happen, even though Billy insisted it was Cane and Phyllis’ problem, not theirs.
