The Young and the Restless Recap May 27

Lily met Nate and Devon at the GCAC and updated that Malcolm was still in the hospital but handling everything well. They did a toast in honor of him.
Devon’s mood soured when Lily raved about how Cane saved Malcolm and called him the perfect match. He rolled his eyes when Lily happily took his call, and he welcomed her back to town.
Cane told Lily he had a good surprise for her and asked if she could come by if she wasn’t too tired. Lily agreed to swing by, but when she hung up, Nate and Devon were staring.
“We don’t like him,” Devon snapped. He said that he didn’t like what Cane did to her, the kids, or to the two people that were dead because of him.” “Okay, that is not fair,” Lily told Devon. He told Lily that people give bone marrow all the time out of the goodness of their hearts but that was not Cane.
Devon accused Cane of using Lily’s appreciation to play the “I saved your Daddy” card. Nate tried to intervene, but Lily heard enough. She snapped at Devon that she could take care of herself, and that he needed to let go of his anger and quit taking it out on her, then announced she was going to see Cane and walked out.
Devon and Abby Make Up

Just before Abby arrived, Devon told Nate that she was at a food expo, but he wasn’t invited. Devon was clearly upset when Abby joined them, so Nate made an exit. He advised them to work out what was going on between them.
Abby told Devon that his rage didn’t seem to be getting better. He admitted that when she told him that Dom was picking up on it, it really got to him. Devon told Abby he wished he had her grace toward Mariah, and that he had gone to see her. He explained the conversation that they had, and how he came to realize he was mad at himself.
Abby assured Devon that he did nothing wrong, and that if it wasn’t for him, she would have fallen apart completely during and after the whole ordeal. She told him how much she loved and needed him and they made up.
Cane and Lily Kiss

On the train, Cane surprised Lily with a dinner for two. She accepted his invitation to stay. As they chatted, Lily told Cane how easily Holden and Stephanie fit right in as if they’d been part of her family her whole life.
Cane said he hadn’t been given a trial date or any update since he was charged, but was sure that Phyllis was Victor’s real target. He insisted the charges and emails were bogus. Lily told Cane she would forever feel bad about going along with Victor’s fake kidnapping scheme.
Cane said he didn’t believe Lily would’ve upended her and the twins’ lives just to teach him a lesson, and wondered what Victor had offered her to do it. Lily admitted that he promised her Chancellor again; she added that she always considered the company as Devon’s since he was Katherine’s grandson. Despite his feelings about Victor, Cane thought that he would make good on his promise one day.
After dinner, Cane invited Lily to stay for a drink, but she needed to get home. She thanked him and noted that they were making some positive steps in forgiveness. Before she left, Cane and Lily shared a passionate kiss, and she walked away grinning.
Victoria Consults Nikki and Nate about Nick

Esther and Nikki were laughing over coffee on the Crimson Lights patio when Victoria arrived. Esther went back to work, so Victoria took her seat and told her mom that they needed to talk.
Victoria was concerned that Nick wasn’t telling them the whole truth, but Nikki said that was what addicts do. She lamented that her son was having the same struggles that she did.
Victoria told her mom that what Nick was going through was not her fault, and that she admired her strength and resilience. Nikki shared that she and Victor couldn’t quit arguing enough to help Nick together.
Nate interrupted and took Nikki’s seat as she had to leave.
Victoria told Nate that she already knew about Malcolm, Holden, and Lily being related and about the surgery, as Claire updated her. On a serious note, she asked what Nate knew about opioid addiction and treatment. He explained the mindset of dependency and that there shouldn’t be judgment towards them, or by themselves. Victoria said Nate was a good doctor and wondered if he ever missed it.
Victor and Nick Confront Matt

At Summers Conglomerate, Victor scolded Phyllis for making a deal with Nick behind his back as Nick sent a text message. Meanwhile, Matt asked Phyllis if she was selling him out.
Phyllis explained to Nick and Victor that Matt really didn’t remember anything and that he wanted to make amends. Just then, Sharon, Noah, and Sienna came in, saying that they’d gotten Nick’s text.
Noah lunged at Matt, but Sienna held him back. Matt moved away from the group and told them he didn’t want to hurt anyone and really wanted to make amends.
Victor got in Matt’s face and told him that the days of him terrorizing his family were over. Matt insisted he didn’t know who anyone was, but when Nick blew up at him, he said all he knew was that Nick punched him in the face and that Noah slept with his wife, yet somehow he was the bad guy.
Nick Overdoses Again

Nick went off on Matt and listed off some of the things he’d done to them, then yelled at Phyllis for believing he didn’t remember anything. Sienna asked if Matt really didn’t know who she was, but he had a flashback to her hitting him on the head with a rock. He told Sienna he did remember her trying to kill him.
Sienna explained it was self-defense, and Sharon added how he tried to blow them up. Matt told the group that he had clearly hurt them, but to please believe that he genuinely, truly, and deeply regretted anything that they said he had done. “We’re way past sorry,” Nick grumbled as he took out his phone. As he tried to use it, he stumbled forward.
Nick said he was calling Burrow, but everyone seemed concerned at the way he was acting. Sharon told him it was already over, and he didn’t need to call, but Nick said he was doing things his way. He held his hand still to his ear as the phone slipped out and fell to the floor. A moment later, Nick collapsed. Everyone gathered around Nick, trying to call his name and saying to wake up and stay with them. “He’s OD’ing,” Matt mused.
