Diane offers her congratulations to Sally

Diane saw Sally at Society and congratulated her on her pregnancy and engagement. Sally invited her to sit with her while she waited for Billy. They talked about Billy and Sally’s relationship, and how Sally was already considered part of the Abbott family.

The conversation turned to Diane and Jack. Diane said how frustrating it was that people talked about her as if she was choosing to remain hurt. She said if she could get back what she and Jack had, she would in a heartbeat.

Sally told Diane that she had every right to be wounded, but advised her to consider why she felt that way. She wondered if the betrayal made her feel a way about herself.

Sally pointed out that Diane had just told her how she’d redecorated the Abbott home to make herself feel worthy of being considered part of the family. She asked if what happened on the yacht made her question her worthiness again.

Sally explained that sometimes she had old wounds that were there underneath the anger, and it made her react certain ways. Diane wasn’t sure how similar their situations were but appreciated the attempt to share anyway.

Billy came in and told them that he ran into Patty and told them about their conversation. He warned Diane that Patty anticipated that she would be a holdout on her second chance, and would work on everyone else to get what she wanted.

Billy suggested that Diane consider starting to forgive Jack so that Patty doesn’t find a way in and position Diane as an obstacle. He said if she still loved Jack and didn’t want Patty to win, now was the time to make a change.

Jack and Nikki had dinner at GCAC and talked about his and Diane’s relationship, or lack thereof. He wondered if his wife would ever be happy to see him again. Nikki told Jack how she was always happy to see him and valued their friendship.

Nikki said that the Matt Clark situation didn’t help the Newmans, along with her separation from Victor and the business problems. Nikki admitted that as upset as she was, she missed Victor.

Jack asked if Victor had ever met her halfway and said as her friend, he wanted her to be happy. “Don’t be the one to give in this time,” he pleaded.

As Jack talked, he reached across and put his hand on Nikki’s. Just then, Diane walked in and stopped in her tracks. From across the room, it looked like Jack and Nikki were having an intimate dinner.

Patty Looks For Empathy From Billy

Billy sees Patty at Crimson Lights and warns her to leave town

At Crimson Lights, Patty was happy to see Billy, but it wasn’t mutual. Billy told her she was delusional if she was sticking around Genoa City in hopes of getting Jack back. Patty insisted she was reformed and said everyone would see it the longer she stuck around.

Patty told Billy that he’d been given so many second chances, and thought he, of all people, could give her the opportunity to show them she’d changed.

Billy reminded Patty of the pain and trauma she caused Ashley, how she caused Colleen to die, and stalked Jack for years. “Don’t ever compare your past to mine and the horrors you’ve committed,” he warned.

Patty replied that she had only done those things when she was out of her mind, but that was in the past; she had the release papers to prove it. She maintained that she had nothing to do with how and when Jack got on that boat.

Billy didn’t care what she said, but Patty believed that she would get Jack to give her a second chance. He advised her ot spare herself the pain and embarrassment and just leave town forever.

After Billy left, Patty met Matt at the coffee shop. He asked her if the name Matt Clark meant anything to her. Patty introduced herself, and Matt explained that he lost his memory after an accident of some sort, and thought he might be Matt Clark. “I’m really just looking for someone to help me fill in the blanks,” he added.

Patty and Matt sat down, and he told her that he only remembered being at a diner in Vegas, but at the time, he had no idea where he was. He said he had little flashes of Los Angeles and a nightclub.

Patty laughed that it could explain his rings. I have a vibe,” Matt laughed. She noted he was wearing a wedding band, but Matt had no clue why.

Matt told Patty how he wound up in Genoa City, but that people seemed to think he’d done bad things and he was trying to figure that out as well. “Well, Matt Clark, maybe we can help each other,” Patty suggested.

Lily and Cane Bond

Lily brought Cane some cookies on the train, and they talked about how his stem cells would be couriered to Malcolm. Cane reiterated that he’d break the law for her if needed.

Cane said that he and Phyllis weren’t that incompetent to leave a trail, and the emails were fabricated by Victor, but what they contained was pretty much true. He warned that things could get bad.

Cane admitted that he and Phyllis were guilty, but that there wasn’t proof of it. He said he was mad at Victor for taking his company but also for taking the last positive connection to his father that he had.

Lily thought that Cane didn’t follow through with anything, just Phyllis did. “And that’s why I’m not going to let her get away with this, and drag you down,” Lily told him.

After Lily left, Holden came in. He told Cane he and a friend were taking the red-eye later that night and meeting Lily in NYC. Holden knew he was basically still a stranger to Malcolm, but thanked Cane for what he was doing; Cane said he was honored.

Cane offered the homemade cookies and told Holden he didn’t know where Lily went, but she was in a hurry, and he just missed her.

Lily went to Phyllis’ office and snarked that she knew she would find her there. “I just wanted to warn you, Phyllis, that you better come clean to the D.A.,” she said. Lily added that Phyllis better tell the authorities that Cane had nothing to do with taking over Newman.

“Okay…or what?” Phyllis laughed. “Or I will single-handedly dismantle you,” Lily fumed. She said that Cane was innocent, but Phyllis was not. Phyllis sighed and said that the evidence against both of them was bogus. “No, it’s true when it comes to you,” Lily told her.

“Cane may have reversed the AI program, but you used it to transfer ownership to your name,” Lily snapped. She told Phyllis she was going to pay for her crimes, but said she better not dare drag Cane down with her.

“I don’t think you understand something: I’m never going down for this,” Phyllis retorted. Lily laughed that was famous last words. Lily said she would channel every ounce of hatred that her mother had for her. “So believe me, Phyllis. Don’t make me your enemy. You don’t want that,” Lily added before leaving.
