Patty lay on Dr. Markham’s couch and told him she’d had plenty of invasive thoughts lately but he didn’t want to play doctor. Patty didn’t think he was appreciative, but Markham said he was doing his part in their plan.

Markham told her that Jack was just placating Patty and was nowhere near giving up on his wife. He backtracked on being so harsh, but Patty snapped, “Shut up, Larry!” She told him he was irritating her and reminded him she broke things when she loses her temper.

Markham said her so-called redemption was open to interpretation and if he so wished, he could say he’d witnessed her regressing to old ways and have her recommitted. Patty loved being threatened, but he heard Diane coming and ushered out.

When Diane walked in as the front door closed, she wondered who Markham had been talking to. He lied about it being a patient on the phone, and Diane did her part by pretending to believe everything he said.

Diane told Markham she thought they had a real connection. She mused she was developing feelings for him and said that she was hopeful he could help free her from her own thoughts.

Diane suggested that she might be transferring her feelings for Jack onto Markham, but he saw that as a positive. “Well, then. Let’s just say I’m looking forward to our session,” she grinned. She asked if it was appropriate for them to have dinner together, and Markham said he’d like it very much.

Billy Demands the Truth From Jill

At GCAC, Billy insisted that Jill tell him why she didn’t trust him with Chancellor and always believed in Cane more than him, but she wouldn’t speak. Billy slammed his hand on the table, and Cane snapped at him about bullying his mom.

Cane told Billy that his problem was that Cane was the one running Chancellor. “My god, Cane, do we have to pull up a chair for your ego?” Billy asked. He said he thought Lily was making a colossal mistake, but not to flatter himself that he had anything to do with Billy’s issues with Jill.

Billy asked Cane to leave them be and to stay out of his family business. Cane gave up his seat but stood on the other side of Billy at the bar.

Billy suggested maybe he was wrong and Jill got rid of him to protect him from Victor. He said if it was an act of love like that, it would be amazing, but if it wasn’t, she needed to tell him why she didn’t and never would have faith in him.

When Jill wouldn’t answer him, Billy said there was no point. Cane told Billy to work things out with his mom and hugged Jill before leaving. Jill continued to talk to Billy but still wouldn’t answer the question. Instead, she said she wouldn’t defend Cane because it would upset Billy.

Billy told her he was only human, and, of course, it bothered him. Jill said she didn’t want to go on like this, but Billy told her to just see the people she came to see and go back to London. He didn’t want to jeopardize her health over a conflict that couldn’t be solved.

Jill refused and said she wasn’t leaving and neither was he until their issues were behind them. Billy noted that now that he asked and she was so resistant, he wasn’t sure he wanted to hear Jill’s answer. He told her this wasn’t about Cane; it was about him, her son.

Jill revealed that she was the secret benefactor to Abbott Communications, something she wouldn’t have done if she didn’t believe in Billy. He told her he already knew about that, and he appreciated it, but it felt like she was throwing him a bone because she didn’t think he could hack it anywhere else.

Jill pointed out it wasn’t chump change that she invested, and that he walked away from the company to chase after the golden ring somewhere else.

Kyle and Traci Fear the Worst

Traci and Kyle | The Young and the Restless | CBS

At Crimson Lights, a worried Kyle saw his aunt Traci and asked if she’d talked to Jack. He told her they thought that the doctor Traci saw with Patty was working with her and that they had Diane. Kyle added that Jack left for Dr. Markham’s house, but he couldn’t reach him and worried he’d gotten in trouble.

Kyle told Traci that he thought he’d lured Markham away from his house, but he called back and told him to come over with the police and a search warrant and canceled their meeting. He feared that Jack was walking into a trap and Patty would be waiting at the house.

Traci said all of it wreaked of evil and reminded her of Martin Laurent. It wasn’t something she wanted to go through again and knew if her family was in danger, they were going to save them.

Kyle stopped Traci from racing off, but she made it clear she wanted to choke Patty until she sucked the life force out of her. She said she even dreamt about it, but she always stopped herself. Kyle said she was human and nothing like Patty.

Talking about all that they’d lost because of people like PatTraci wished Kyle could have known his cousin, Colleen, and said how special she was. Kyle shared that he and Harrison found a box of cassettes of her singing and that Harrison listens to them at night sometimes. He added that it made Harrison feel safe, like she was watching over him. Traci sobbed about how much she missed her daughter.

Kyle suggested that they wait another hour. He trusted Jack to play it smart, but if they didn’t hear from him by then, they’d call the police.

Meanwhile, a frustrated Patty returned to the Abbott mansion and wished Jack was there, but he wasn’t. She wondered if he went straight to Markham’s to rescue Diane. She spotted a photo of Jack and Diane on the table, yelled at it that it would always be her home now, and threw it in a drawer.

Cane Wants Billy at Chancellor

Cane and Lily at Crimson Lights

Cane went to Crimson Lights and ran into Lily. He told her about his first day at work, and how Jill was in town. He said that Jill was trying to make peace, but Billy wasn’t having it.

Lily said that Billy was mad at himself because he was the source of all of his problems. Cane told Lily that Billy and Sally were having a baby. He noted that Billy seemed happy about it and claimed that he had moved on from Chancellor.

Cane said that Jill put him in the hot seat about the AI stuff and that Billy couldn’t help but pile on. “We got into it,” Cane admitted, but Lily told him that it wasn’t his fault that Billy was jealous of him. Cane said he just wanted Billy to figure out his life so he could stop making the same mistakes over and over.

Cane suggested that they offer Billy a position at the company to give him a chance to get back in the game. Lily was adamantly against it, but Cane thought he could bring out the best in Billy. “He needs this,” Cane insisted.

“It really seems like there’s a part of you that needs it, too,” Lily noted. Cane agreed that was true but wanted her to sign off on it. “Can we bring him on board?” he asked.
