The Young and the Restless Recap June 26: Nikki Loses Her Sight as Diane Outsmarts Markham

oTL;DR: In today’s Young and the Restless recap for Friday, June 26, 2026, Nikki’s condition takes a devastating turn, Diane figures out Markham’s deception, and Jack prepares to rescue his wife.

The Young and the Restless Recap June 26

At the hospital, Nikki returned from testing, and she described her deteriorating vision to Nick, Claire, and Victoria. In the corner of the room, Victor wept silently, then slipped outside the door. Victoria and Claire went out to talk to him, and Victor said it was best that he leave, and that Nikki didn’t know he was there.

Victoria cried about how scared she was, so Victor hugged her. He said he was going to follow up with Stephanie Simmons, and Claire told him she was Holden’s mom and that she had spent time with her, noting what an incredible doctor she had heard she was.

Back in the room, Nikki told Nick she was keeping her eyes closed because it bothered her to watch her vision fade. She told Nick that if it was triggering him to be in the hospital, he should go, but he said there was no way he was leaving her side.

When Victoria and Claire returned, Nikki asked if Victor knew. Victoria admitted that she told him, he’d been there, and he found her a top-notch surgeon from Manhattan. They assured her that she was his priority and he was doing everything he could for her.

Stephanie Reaches the Surgeon

At Society, Lily saw Stephanie and Nate having lunch. Nate told Lily about Nikki’s health crisis while Stephanie took a call from her friend, Virginia, the surgeon. Nate explained that they’d asked for his help, and Stephanie was asking her friend if she was available.

Stephanie returned and said that Virginia made herself available to help. Just then, Victor walked in, and Nate said they had promising news. Victor offered his jet to fly Virginia in, and Stephanie promised to get all of Nikki’s information to her so she would be ready when she landed. Victor told Nate he would never forget what he did for him. Stephanie went to make arrangements for surgery prep, and Victor called Victoria to tell her what was going on and said he was coming back to the hospital.

Nikki Loses Her Eyesight

Victoria rushed back to the hospital room and told her that she had great news and that a surgeon was en route to do the surgery. When Nick noted that Dr. Nowling came through, Victoria corrected him, saying it was all Victor, with “a little bit of help” from Nate. Everyone gushed to Nikki about how Victor did everything he could for her.

Nikki was resting with Nick and Victoria, talking quietly in the corner. When she awoke, she opened her eyes and then called out, distressed for them. “What’s wrong?” they asked. As Victor and Claire came in, Nikki said she couldn’t see anything and her eyesight was gone.

Diane Realizes Markham and Patty Are Working Together

At Markham’s house, Diane didn’t believe that Patty moved in with Jack, but he insisted it was true. Diane wanted to know who called and told him that, but when he wouldn’t say, she knew it was Patty. “It was your husband, Jack,” Markham lied. Diane asked what kind of cruel joke this was, noting that she revealed it was her worst fear, and now suddenly he’s telling her it happened already.

Diane pieced together that Dr. Markham knew Patty, and they were working together. She said that she didn’t remember having a breakdown, and everything made her feel like she was being gaslit. Markham said he’d met with Jack at the Abbott mansion and described the interior.

Markham said that a woman arrived and had her own key, and they seemed to be a couple. The woman played the hostess, and they seemed quite enamored, he added. Markham told Diane that it was Jack who had called earlier. He gave him permission to tell Diane the truth, and said that he’d hurt her too much and didn’t believe she could ever forgive him.

Diane Figures It Out

“Jack feels it would be best if you could both just move on, and that’s apparently what he’s done,” Markham added. Diane said that she knew Jack, and if he felt that way, he would‘ve told her himself. Shocked, she recapped that she had a breakdown on the side of the road, and while she’s with this strange man and confused, he’s left her for another woman.

Diane sobbed, “How could he do this to me?” But she thought to herself that she was right: Markham and Patty were in this together. She thought Patty had her locked away to make her move on Jack, but wondered what his angle was that he would let her.

To Markham, Diane sobbed that Jack’s actions would cause her another breakdown. She went through all of the “how could he” motions and put on a great performance, wondering if Jack ever loved her at all, while Markham encouraged her to let it all out. “Oh, Laurence, Laurence, please! Can you give me something to help take away the pain, please!” Diane sobbed. Laurence told her he could give her something mild and promised he would help her get through it. “You were right to put your trust in me,” he added.

Jack and Kyle Put Their Plan Into Motion

At Crimson Lights, Jack talked to Kyle about breaking into Markham’s house after luring him out of it. Kyle asked for his number and said he would call him directly and get the ball rolling. Kyle called and left a voicemail identifying himself and saying he’d followed him from his family’s home to his. He claimed to have seen his mother through a window and that he’d been looking for her for days. Kyle told him to call him back and explain what was going on, or he would call the police.

When Markham heard the message, he called Kyle but denied that Diane was there. He said she was at a clinic and would only agree to talk to Kyle in town, so he told him to come to Crimson Lights. Jack thought Kyle did a great job, and he promised to distract him so Jack could get into his property.

Kyle told Jack to be careful and hugged him as he walked him to the door. Jack left, and Kyle returned to the table, but behind them, Patty was listening to everything.
