TL;DR: In today’s The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, Nikki is terrorized by a frightening nightmare before waking to the realization that her eyesight is beginning to return.

The Young and the Restless Recap July 28

At the ranch, Nikki took a nap on the couch but awoke to the sound of smashing glass — twice. She didn’t know where it was coming from and called out. The silence was deafening, and she became quite afraid, feeling so vulnerable on her own and unable to see anything.

Nikki tried to make it to the front door but there were more noises, like the song “Three Blind Mice” playing. She wondered who could be tormenting her like that: Cane? Matt? Patty. Nikki through a paperweight and her diamond bracelet in their general direction.

Eventually, Nikki made it to the front door just as Victoria was coming in. She told her what was happening but Victoria didn’t sound the alarms. She said she’d call security and the police but wanted to call Victor first. Victoria soothed her mom and then went to get some ice for her knee, which she’d injured trying to flee from the intruder.

The Terror Begins Again

While Victoria was gone, Nikki’s phone rang and it was from an unknown caller. When she answered, the same piano music of Three Blind Mice played in her ear. Nikki freaked out, and when Victoria returned she said that Victor could have that call traced. She reminded her mom how good he’d been to her.

Victoria got Nikki to sit at the piano and play. That seemed to make her feel a little better, but when Victoria left the room again later, someone slammed on the piano keys and knocked over a lamp. Nikki started screaming for Victoria and when she didn’t answer, she swore if they hurt her daughter, she would kill them.

Just then, Victor woke Nikki up and said she was having a bad dream. As she tried to tell him about it, she realized she could see light and then a blurred front door. As she looked at Victor’s face it became less blurry. “Victor! I can see!” she cried. “Are you sure?” Victor asked. She assured him she could, and that her sight was coming back, and they embraced.
