The Young and the Restless Recap July 27

At the ranch, Victor and Victoria sternly confronted Adam and Chelsea about their deal to get back Newman Media. Adam explained that he didn’t want to say anything until they had a definite deal, but that they basically intimidated them into handing it over.
Victoria and Victor questioned everything they said, not believing any of it. Adam snapped that he didn’t deserve to be treated that way, and Chelsea backed him up, noting how dedicated and loyal to the family he had proved himself to be.
Adam added that he was blindsided that after months of being Victor’s right-hand man, he was sidelined by Victoria while he was trying to help Nick in Vegas.
Adam noted that he scored a company that Victor wanted and should be happy about, but apparently it only counted as a power play if Victor did it. Victor asked why he was being so defensive, and Victoria scoffed that he thought he should have been considered to run the company.
Adam and Chelsea Look Ahead

Adam and Chelsea went to Chancellor Park Cafe to discuss what just happened. They worried that Victor and Victoria would find out what the real deal was. Chelsea said they could at least count on Audra being a good liar, although Adam thought Sally could hold her own as well.
Adam laughed that Chelsea gave an award-winning performance as well. She noted that he wasn’t acting when he told his dad how betrayed he felt after being Victor’s loyal soldier. “Does part of you want to make a play for the entire Newman empire?” she asked.
Adam said it wasn’t something he’d thought about. “As much as I would love the validation and the power, it would come at too high a cost,” Adam concluded. He said he would rather work side-by-side with Chelsea and have time to spend as a family with Connor.
Adam noted it would take him becoming Spyder again to pull that off, and he didn’t want that. He wanted to be him, with her, and have a happy family. Chelsea was relieved to hear that he didn’t want to war his sister for the power, and just wanted to be sure she wasn’t holding him back.
Adam did wish, however, that they kept Newman Media for themselves and didn’t fold it back into Newman Enterprises. Now it would be under Victor and Victoria’s control, and they would have to answer to them.
Victoria Questions Sally

Meanwhile, Audra and Sally were at Crimson Lights. Audra warned Sally again that she needed to tell Billy about the deal with Adam and Chelsea before he heard about it from someone else, so she called him.
Billy was at home, doing research on the conception of Chancellor Industries. Sally said that she had something to tell him, but wanted to do it in person and would be home soon.
While Billy was waiting, Victoria showed up. She wanted to talk to Sally and find out her version of how it came to be that Sally and Audra handed back Newman Media without compensation or argument. Billy was taken aback, but hid it and said he knew about it.
As Billy explained he had no opinion or knew details because it wasn’t his company, Sally came in. She stopped in her tracks when she saw Victoria, who told her why she was there.
Sally glanced at Billy as she answered her, but neither said anything about the fact that they hadn’t talked about it yet. Victoria asked about the lack of compensation, so Sally explained that she did try to ask Victor to buy the company back.
Billy Feels Betrayed

Victoria smirked at how foolish it was to think that Victor would buy something that already belonged to him. Sally said that Victor made that clear, and that was why they didn’t ask Adam for compensation as he made it clear he wouldn’t go against Victor. “To save Spectra-Charles, we handed Newman Media back,” Sally said.
Victoria told Sally she was sorry it came to that, and assured her she had nothing to do with any of it. “I don’t care if we own Newman Media or not, but it was important to my father to reclaim what was taken from him,” she added. She said that now that the score was settled, she hoped they could all move on and Sally agreed.
After Victoria left, Sally told Billy that this was the news she wanted to tell him. Billy asked why she’d been sitting on it since he got home and he had to hear about it from Victoria, noting that unlike his ex, he did care who owned Newman Media. He asked if she had been too afraid to tell him.
Billy was upset to think that Adam and Chelsea bullied her into giving up the company and said he wasn’t going to let it slide. Sally asked him to let it go, saying she didn’t want the company back. Billy fumed, and asked what else she was keeping a secret from him.
Nikki Reaches Her Breaking Point

At the ranch, Nikki wasn’t surprised to learn that a staff member told Victor that she smashed her mirror. Victor hugged her when she told him how frustrated she was at the time, and said that she wasn’t as prepared for the outcome at the doctor’s office as she thought she was.
Victoria came in and told Victor that she had just seen Sally. She asked Nikki how she was doing, but Nikki snapped that she wished everyone would stop asking her that.
“For your information, I am not fine. I am angry. I’m scared. I’m blind! I don’t know if I’m ever going to see again, and that’s all that you people need to know,” Nikki said furiously. She put down her teacup and said she was going to her room.
Victoria offered to help her, but she said she’d get there on her own. However, she tripped on her first step, and Victor caught her. Victor soothed her in his arms as she cried, “I hate this!”
