The Young and the Restless Recap July 24: Billy Suspects Jill’s Secret, Devon Blasts Cane, and Sally Delays a Confession

TL;DR: In today’s The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, July 24, 2026, Billy returns from London convinced Jill is hiding a Chancellor secret, Sally wrestles with telling him about Newman Media, Devon lashes out at Cane, and Ashley encourages Devon to open up.

The Young and the Restless Recap July 24

Sally was at home when Billy came back unexpectedly from London. He told her that he and Jill fought for the whole 8-hour plane ride. He’d had enough already and came back. Billy said that Jill had a one-track record about her favorite son, and, when she got worked up, let slip a comment that there were “complexities” at Chancellor that she only wanted Cane to know about.

Billy said that all the times she’s kept him out of Chancellor never made sense to her. He realized that even when he was there, he was expected to stay in a certain lane. He now suspected that Jill had a secret hidden at Chancellor that she had never wanted him to discover.

Billy added that the relationship between Katherine and Jill was intense and there were a lot of secrets, mostly on Katherine’s side, but Jill learned from the best. He noted that the secret about the way he was conceived was a doozy. “Sally, there’s a secret inside Chancellor, and I have to find out what it is,” Billy said.

Sally Keeps A Secret From Billy

Billy asked how Spectra-Charles was doing. Sally noted that she was on the phone with Audra when he walked in. She said she had news but wasn’t ready to talk about it yet, so they could meet at Society later and she would tell him. Billy agreed and went to check in on Cane.

Audra came over for a meeting. Sally admitted she didn’t tell Billy yet about the sale of Newman Media. She said she had no regrets and it was the right thing to do, but Audra told her it was also right to tell Billy. Sally noted that Billy was upset about Jill’s secrets and here she was not telling him something. She knew she had to tell him at lunch.

Devon Unloads on Cane

In Chancellor Park, at the cafe, Devon saw Cane and asked him how he was. Within moments, Devon was telling off Cane, upset that he was going to be running his grandmother’s company and hiring other “losers like him.” Cane pointed out it was Lily’s decision.

Devon said that Cane ruined everything he touched and he was taking a handout from his ex-wife. Cane warned his rampage was going to ruin Devon and Lily’s relationship, and reminded him that Katherine left him Chancellor when she died. “I know that — and you didn’t deserve it then, either,” Devon snapped.

“This is about me being able to see you clearly, Cane,” Devon explained. He said the same went for Billy and Holden. “You are a con artist. Billy’s obsessed with himself, and Holden hasn’t been anything more than a glorified gopher. So the three of you at Chancellor together? You’re going to bury the company,” Devon said.

Cane said they didn’t have to be friends, but Lily meant everything to him, and she was worried about Devon. He said that she was worried Devon was making all this noise to distract from something else. Devon told him it was none of his business, but Cane advised him to figure it out before he pushed people away.

Devon told Cane that if he wanted to make him happy, he’d let him fold Chancellor into Winters and then park his train several states away from them. “So that’s what this is about? Chancellor? Two and a half billion isn’t enough for you?” he asked. Devon said they were done and left abruptly.

Billy Questions Cane

When Billy got there, Cane told him about his conversation with Devon; Billy told Cane about his trip with Jill. Billy divulged that Jill had a secret at Chancellor that she didn’t want him to know. He told Cane to give him the contract, and he’d knock it out of the park working for him, and he’d figure out what she wanted to keep hidden from him as well.

Cane said he couldn’t offer Billy a contract if he wanted it to go after a treasure hunt. Billy noted he never mentioned anything about a treasure hunt, but Cane thought he did. Billy asked if Cane knew what Jill was hiding, and if he’d known all along.

Cane was offended that Billy was already accusing him of something. He was miffed that Billy couldn’t just accept the job as offered and it had to be some other reason attached to it. He said he was doing the exact thing that people warned him about as to not hire him.

Billy leaned in and told Cane that Jill had pushed him out for years, and now he knew there was a real reason for it. He said that Jill had allowed him to stay angry for years because she had something that she wanted to keep hidden from him. “And it’s big,” Billy added.

Ashley Tries to Reach Devon

At Society, Ashley and Abby talked about Patty and the damage she’d done. Ashley said she walked past a cafe in Paris recently and recalled that the last time she’d been there was with Alan, but it occurred to her that it had actually been Martin.

Abby told Ashley she needed advice about Devon because she was really worried about him. She told her mom about Devon’s reaction to Dom’s kidnapping and Mariah’s sentence. Abby said Devon was better for a few days after seeing Mariah, but then the mood swings were back, and she thought something else was eating at him.

Abby thought Devon was depressed, and although he put on a good face around Dom, it was still there. Ashley didn’t know how to help unless she talked to Devon and got him to open up.

When Devon came in, Abby went to take care of an order in the back. Ashley told Devon she wanted to talk to him and asked how he was doing since Dom’s kidnapping. She knew it was hard to ask for what you need, and offered hers. Devon appreciated it but said he was fine.

Ashley told Devon that she knew better than anyone that trauma changes you and it can be difficult to come back from and to admit. Ashley gently encouraged Devon to open up to Abby because she really wanted to be there for him.
