Sally met Audra at the GCAC and told her about Adam’s offer. Audra’s concern was that Victor didn’t know about it, and didn’t trust Adam to keep his word but Sally felt Adam owed her.

Audra thought that the fact that it was supposed to be a secret from Victor was a red flag and it could come back to haunt them. She didn’t want to sell Newman Media, but Sally thought they had to pick their battles, and this one didn’t feel like one they could win.

Audra agreed to take Sally’s lead, and do what needed to be done, and then they could move on to build their empire.

Adam Makes His Move

At Society, Adam told Chelsea about his offer to Sally. Chelsea wasn’t happy that Adam did that without talking to her first but still felt it was wrong for Victor to go after Spectra-Charles.

Chelsea thought that Adam was taking a huge risk for Victor to help Sally and wondered if it was worth it. He didn’t think it would be a problem because Victor trusted his judgment.

Adam got a call from Sally, who told him that she and Audra were interested in his offer but were concerned about Victor. Adam gave his word that Victor wouldn’t be a problem. She invited him to meet them and answer some questions at the club.

At GCAC, Chelsea and Adam reviewed the contract with Sally and Audra, who made her apprehension known. She said she didn’t trust the two of them not to screw her and Sally over.

Chelsea wondered if Audra was worried they’d build it to be their competition. Despite their bickering, Audra agreed to sign. After Adam and Chelsea left, Audra asked how Sally thought Billy was going to react when he found out that she sold the gift that he gave to her.

Meanwhile, Adam and Chelsea came to the ranch. After asking about Nikki, Adam told Victor he had good news: Newman Media would soon be theirs again. “What did you do?” Victor asked suspiciously.

Claire Opens Up to Holden

At the Chancellor Park Cafe, Claire told Holden about Nikki not regaining her sight. She said the doctor said it could come back after the optic nerve healed, but there was no guarantee. Claire agreed with Nikki to be pragmatic, but everyone else was being overly hopeful.

Holden understood that she felt like everyone’s hope was putting more stress on Nikki, whereas she was trying to follow Nikki’s lead for what she needed. Holden was supportive in every way, and said he was always there for her in any way that she needed.

Nick and Phyllis Clash Again

At Crimson Lights, Nick got a text from his old dealer asking if he was ready to be hooked up again. Nick ignored it but saw Phyllis at the counter and asked if she enjoyed her evening. He told her she should be ashamed of herself and that he saw her take Matt upstairs. Phyllis was clear that she didn’t need a chaperone and her relationship with Matt was none of his business.

Nick blew up at the word ‘relationship.’ Phyllis asked if he was jealous, but he denied it. “Why do you want him around, anyway? I mean… unless you two are planning something against us,” Nick said.

Phyllis softened and noted that Nick was sounding paranoid. She said she was glad he was alive, but right now, she didn’t like the way he was talking to her. “Yeah, well, I don’t like talking to you like this either,” Nick said. He brought up Matt again, so she told him she wanted to end the conversation.

Nick wanted Phyllis to tell Matt to leave town, but she clapped back that Matt wasn’t a threat to him, and he was the one who needed to let him go. Nick didn’t believe it was Victor who had Matt tethered to the town; he thought it was Phyllis.

“If you like him so much, then why don’t you leave with him?” Nick barked. “If you’re going to choose him over us, then get the hell out.” Phyllis was hurt but told Nick that neither she nor Matt were going anywhere, and if he had a problem with that, then he needed to get over himself.

Sharon walked over and asked Nick if he was okay, but he said he was far from it. They sat down, and he told her that it bothered him that Phyllis and Matt were hanging out. He guessed they were bonded over being exiled or something.

Sharon advised that it wasn’t his business, and asked what else was on his mind. Nick told Sharon that Nikki got her bandages off and she couldn’t see. He said Nikki just wanted him to concentrate on his sobriety, but he couldn’t with Matt there every time he turned around.

Nick admitted to Sharon that he was trying, but he couldn’t stop thinking about drugs. He said he felt like if he could just have one more pill, then everything would be golden. “It’s all I think about,” he added. Sharon encouraged Nick to go to a meeting and use the tools he had to fight the urge.

Nick admitted that his old dealer hit him up. He didn’t think what he was doing to fight the urge was enough. “I think I need to go to rehab,” Nick told her.
