At the Shadow Room, Matt reiterated that no one in Genoa City would ever see him as a changed man. He insisted that he only came to apologize to Sienna for being a bad husband.

Noah didn’t believe him, but Sienna said she didn’t feel cornered or attacked. Matt told Noah that cheating on him had an effect on him; even if he didn’t believe him, it hurt. Noah reminded Matt that his marriage was annulled, as if it had never happened.

Nick demanded to know Matt’s plan, but he said he just wanted to build a new, honest life, maybe with someone who looked at him the way people look at Nick. He kept saying he was leaving, but they kept wanting to know what he really wanted.

Matt yelled that he didn’t want anything from any of them. Sharon offered to help him pack if it meant never hearing from him again. Matt said the only thing preventing him from going was Victor’s test. If he didn’t complete it, he’d throw him in jail. Nick told him not to worry about it.

Noah told Matt to go grab his duffel bag and hit the road, but he asked Sienna if she was on board with the plan. Sienna pointed out that he’d come to the same decision on his own, so there wasn’t anything to debate.

Sienna gently added that it would be hard to start over, but for everyone to move on, it was best that he left town. Matt tearfully told her he’d let her know when he was going, but Noah said to do it now.

Nick and Noah Don’t Trust Matt

Matt told Nick and Sharon that he was sorry for all the anguish he’d caused them and their family. “And Noah, I wish you and Sienna the best of luck with the club,” he added. “Yeah, well we don’t need your good wishes,” Noah said as he put his arm around Sienna. Matt left, but Nick wasn’t sure it would be for the last time.

After Matt left, Sienna told the group what he had said to her before they got there. She understood that he was emotional when Sharon and Nick walked in, but he was frustrated, and not once did she feel like he was about to be violent.

Sienna and Noah had to get the bar ready to open, so Sharon and Nick stepped aside. Sharon asked Nick about his words earlier and if getting rid of Matt meant what she thought it did.

Sharon wanted Nick to promise he wouldn’t do anything he’d regret. “I need to let my dad know Matt’s plans may have changed,” he said before walking out.

Meanwhile at the bar, Sienna told Noah that it really seemed like Matt was sorry. Noah reminded her that Matt almost killed her. “I almost killed him!” Sienna said. Noah said not to feel guilty about that, and just to stay focused or Matt would use her vulnerability against her.

Nikki and Victor Remain at a Crossroads

At the ranch, Victor told Nikki that whatever happened at the doctor’s office, they would face it together. Nikki didn’t want his pity, but he assured her he was there willingly.

Nikki wondered if they would be having the conversation if she wasn’t at risk of going blind, noting that her going to see Jack was the elephant in the room. She said she could tell that he’d been spying on her and knew where she’d been.

Victor didn’t care that Jack nearly died; he didn’t like her visiting him. He brought up that night in the hotel room again, and Nikki said the same response she always does, that Jack saved her life.

Nikki thought it was hypocritical that Victor brought Patty to town and she nearly killed Jack, but at the same time, he moves Matt Clark onto their property. She asked Victor to make sense of that.

Victor suggested they stop talking about Jack or Matt. He asked who was going to her appointment. She reminded Victor that he told her he wanted to be there, and hoped he still would.

Victor said it would be crowded with Nick and Victoria there too, so Nikki went to bed. Before walking away, Nikki said she loved Victor and always would.

Adam Offers Sally a New Deal

At Society, Adam saw Sally and asked why she tried to make a deal with Victor about Newman Media. She said she was outmatched, and thought if she tried to sell it back to him, she’d at least get something out of it rather than him taking everything.

Adam agreed it was a valid choice, but it was too bad that Victor would never go for that deal. He offered a new deal that would help her avoid the fight with Victor altogether.

Adam suggested that he buy Newman Media from Sally under the same terms she offered Victor. Sally questioned if she could trust Adam, noting that he hated Billy. She said that if Victor couldn’t get past Billy giving her Newman Media, how could she trust that Adam would?

Adam insisted it wasn’t about Billy; it was about him, Sally, and Chelsea. He said the sale would be private and secret, and Victor would never have to know.

Sally said that she didn’t want to be in a position of owing Adam anything. “Sunset Blush,” Adam blurted out as she went to walk away. Sally was taken aback that he remembered the shade she wanted to paint Ava’s nursery.

“You could never owe me,” Adam told her softly. “I will always owe you.” He told her his deal would prevent her from going to war with Victor. He felt bad enough of the things he’d done in the past, and didn’t want his dad to hurt her, too. Sally asked if Adam was prepared for the fallout if Victor found out.

Victor Warns Matt Not To Walk Away

Matt returned to the ranch and told Victor he couldn’t get the information he wanted about Cane and that he had to get out of Genoa City. He explained why, but Victor didn’t care. He said he decided when and if Matt left, and if he was conning him then he’d send him to prison — or worse.

Matt theatrically told Victor that his family would make him the hero if he banished him out of town. Victor said his family wasn’t thinking rationally, but Matt pleaded that he wouldn’t survive in Genoa City.

“Everywhere I go, all I experience is hatred and rage because of my past,” Matt told Victor. “You think long and hard before you let me down,” Victor warned.

Later, Nick came to tell Victor that Matt planned to leave town, and was irritated that he told Victor himself. “I told him to let me handle things with you,” Nick grumbled. Victor asked what prompted Matt to want to leave.

Nick confirmed that Matt was fighting a losing battle with everyone. Victor told Nick that it posed a complication to the deal he had with Matt. Both agreed that they didn’t trust Matt and that their gratitude for saving Nick’s life only went so far.

Phyllis Has Other Plans

Matt called Phyllis, upset. She met him at the bar at the GCAC to find out what had him so concerned. He told her he was giving up and thinking of leaving town.

Matt hoped that Phyllis was the one person who cared. “I do care,” Phyllis said with a smile, “I do. I’m not letting you go.”
