The Young and the Restless Recap July 14

At the Chancellor Park Cafe, Chelsea was excited to share her ideas with Adam about how to build the new Newman Media. He told her that he’d pitched the idea to Victor, but he wanted to get all of the assets back by attacking Spectra Charles — and Sally.
Adam assured Chelsea that he told Victor they wanted nothing to do with hurting Sally or Billy, but he was determined and said to get on board or get out of the way. Adam suggested that they wait until the sting of losing everything subsides.
Chelsea thought Adam was being naive because Victor wouldn’t ever calm down enough to stop going after Billy, and said Sally was the best way to do it. Adam didn’t care about the effect on Billy but was set against going after Sally. Chelsea didn’t want Victor to take a wrecking ball to Billy’s new life, and said they needed to stop him.
Sally Confronts Adam and Chelsea

As they talked about their plan to address Victor, Sally walked by and overheard them say “take Newman Media back.” She wanted to know what they were talking about. Before they could explain, Sally went off about the thought of it and threatened to sue.
Adam told Sally that Spectra Charles included Newman Media, that Billy had given it to Phyllis, who had stolen it from Victor — and that was where the problem was. “Is this because Cane offered Billy a job at Chancellor?” Sally asked. She quickly backtracked, noting that nothing was settled when she saw their genuine reactions.
Sally couldn’t believe that Adam would come after again. Chelsea and Adam assured her that it was Victor, and they weren’t going along with it. Sally appreciated the sentiment but when push came to shove, Adam always cowered to Victor. Chelsea insisted that Adam had changed, and credited both of them for it.
Chelsea believed Adam and Chelsea when they said they didn’t agree with Victor, and thanked them for the heads-up. She walked away and texted Audra that they had to talk as soon as possible.
Nikki Accepts Victor’s Support

At the ranch, Victoria had breakfast with her mom and encouraged her to tell Victor how she felt about being back home. As Victor walked up behind them, Nikki said that Victor could be the sweetest man in the world – but only when he chose to be.
Victor sat with them in the atrium and reminded Nikki that his offer stood: she could take the master bedroom, and he would use the guest room, but she was comfortable as is. When Nikki told Victor that her bandages would come off that day at the doctor’s office, he asked to be there. Nikki said she would like that.
Diane Fears Markham Is Still Out There

Kyle was happy to start the morning off with his mom back in the Abbott mansion. Diane wanted to know what was happening with Patty, and wondered if they’d release her on bail. She worried, as they hadn’t heard anything from Michael yet about her arraignment. Diane told Kyle she wouldn’t rest until she knew that Patty Williams was out of their lives forever.
As Kyle assured Diane that everything would be okay, Michael arrived. He said that Christine laid out a devastating case against Patty. Additionally, Patty insisted on speaking to the judge directly. When things didn’t go her way after running her mouth, the real Patty came out, and she unleashed on the judge.
Michael thought this was the end of the road for Patty, and she wouldn’t get any more chances. Kyle sent a message saying he had to deal with something, leaving Michael and Diane alone. Michael wanted to know how Diane was really feeling, as she didn’t have to pretend with him.
Diane Opens Up to Michael

Diane admitted she was exhausted on every level and still needed to process it all. She confided how she had to pretend to survive and play along with Patty’s sick game. She said she had to actually delve into her feelings for Jack and Patty, and what was so weird was that she actually dealt with it during her captivity.
Diane tearfully told Michael that the one good thing to come out of it was realizing she still loved Jack and that they could work through it and heal together. Michael said he was glad that she and Jack were going to move on.
Diane told him that their marriage was only part of it, though. “Aw, hell, what does that mean?” Michael wondered. Diane explained that Patty’s future and whether they were safe from her were key. Michael then revealed that Markham hadn’t been brought in yet, although there was a warrant for his arrest.
Michael said that Patty expected Markham at the arraignment to vouch for her, but he was a no-show. Diane worried that meant he could still come after her. Michael thought he was a respected professional who went sideways because of Patty.
Diane explained that he was creepy and scary, and Traci agreed. Michael said they had 24/7 security, and if he was smart, he’d stay far away. He promised that Markham would have to go through him to get to her.
Kyle Declares War on Victor

At the ranch, Victoria and Nikki went for a walk to smell flowers. Kyle arrived and told Victor that he was the reason Jack nearly died, as he was the one behind bringing Patty to town and getting Jack on the yacht. Victor mocked him and said he didn’t force his dad to have sex.
Victor was smug and mocked that Jack even lived, until Kyle asked if Nikki was there. He thought that, since they were talking about morality and fidelity, she might be around. Victor threatened to throw him out.
Kyle didn’t care if he did but told Victor that he used to be someone he admired and wondered what happened to that version of him. “You make me laugh. Your attempts at trying to tell me what makes me click,” Victor snickered. Kyle said he was just making an observation of the person Victor had curdled into.
Victor Fires Back

Victor bellowed that he was following in his father’s failing footsteps, and thought it was a flex that he wasn’t gloating at Jack’s bedside. He told Kyle to go home and be the ineffectual son his family wants him to be rather than the man he could have been.
Although Victor yelled that many had tried to take him down and Kyle wouldn’t be the one to do it, Kyle did promise him that an Abbott would be the one to do it in a day that would come soon. “Shiver me timbers! I can hardly wait. Now show yourself out,” Victor scoffed.
After Kyle left, Victor called someone and told them to get him a full update on Jack Abbott’s medical record and then take a look at Patty Williams’ arraignment. “I want to know if all the charges will stick,” he said before hanging up. Victor laughed to himself and said, “Bring it on, man. Bring it on.”
Kyle Shares the Truth With Nikki and Victoria

Victoria and Nikki went to Crimson Light, and Nikki shared with Esther that she was getting the bandages off that day. She told Victoria that she took her sight for granted before that and said how much she missed seeing everyone’s faces.
Kyle came in and told them what happened to Jack and Diane, and blamed Victor for bringing Patty to town to go after Jack. Victoria defended her father but Kyle said none of it would have happened if not for Victor.
