At Society, Billy bought Kyle a Scotch and listened to him as he recounted the trauma he’d been through. They talked about what life was like with Jack in it and how loyal and level-headed he was. Billy said that Kyle had a lot of Jack in him, the way he saved his mom and was there for his father, keeping the family together through it all.

Kyle was taken aback as it wasn’t how conversations usually went with his uncle. Billy admitted that when John died, Jack took over looking after him, and, as much as it was a pain, he appreciated it. But when Kyle came along, he felt replaced. He said that Kyle didn’t deserve the way he’d treated him because anything he could hold against Kyle was something he’d already done himself.

“Stabbed Jack in the back? Did that. Fall in love with a Newman? Did that,” Billy noted. Kyle added being obsessed with revenge against Victor to the list. Kyle told Billy that he didn’t have a choice and that someone had to pay for Jack almost dying.

Billy warned that if Kyle went after Victor, it would affect Claire and Summer. Kyle wondered how they didn’t just support him; they loved the guy. Billy said Victor was a big target yet they all seemed to miss him. “Not this time,” Kyle said ominously. “What do you got planned?” Billy wondered.

Kyle didn’t have a plan yet; Billy said he wouldn’t try to talk him out of it. Billy didn’t want to be involved, but Kyle asked him to anyway. He said he could be the secret weapon who could advise him on what worked and what wouldn’t. “Join me in getting Victor back for what he’s done to our family,” Kyle encouraged.

Billy told him that months ago he would have stayed up all night with him until they came up with an idea, but things had changed. Kyle understood but wasn’t going to stop, although Billy reminded him others had tried. He said he wouldn’t make the same mistakes, adding, “There is no room for failure.”

The Abbott Women Reflect on John’s Legacy

At the Abbott mansion, Tracy, Ashley, and Lauren had some wine and talked about Jack and Diane. The Abbotts were grateful for Lauren’s visit to Jack and for Michael’s legal help.

They talked about how Jack was always there for them, and noted that he was like John. Traci had a flashback to a conversation she had with her dad when she was married to Brad and had just had Colleen. She worried that Brad only married because she was pregnant, but John saw it differently. Lauren told Ashley and Traci how lucky they were to all have one another, and they agreed.

Ashley had a flashback to telling John that her cancer was back and how he was there for her. They talked about how they learned to love and be loved by their fathers. Traci suggested they have a girls’ night with wine and snacks. Ashley added that they’d do some superstitious practices and put salt on the windowsills to rid the place of Patty’s evil energy.

Jack and Diane Celebrate Their Reunion

At the hospital, Jack and Diane basked in the joy of their reunion. While they talked about Patty, they were relieved to be together. Jack said that how he treated Patty all those years ago was wrong, but he didn’t think he deserved a life of revenge for it.

Jack promised Diane that Patty wouldn’t hurt them ever again. Diane took Jack’s advice and said she would go home to shower and rest, a sleep she anticipated would be the best she had had in a long time. As Diane left, Abby came in to visit Jack. She was shook up about what happened, but Jack assured her that he would be fine.

Abby wished that they’d stepped in sooner and spared him what happened but Jack said it all played out the way it was meant to. Abby alluded that Devon was going through a rough patch, but just like Jack saved Diane, she intended to see Devon through it.

Diane Is Welcomed Home by the Abbott Family

Ashley and Traci made Lauren an honorary member of the Abbott family just before Diane came in and a little while after, Abby followed. Diane was a little taken aback when they all told her that she was home.

Diane got emotional thinking about being trapped at Markham’s, and how scared she’d been. Traci held her and told her to let it all out so they could be there for her.

Later, the group planned for Jack’s homecoming. “If Jack could see us now,” Lauren said. Abby thought there was no reason he couldn’t, so they posed for a selfie to send to him.

Jack slept after Abby left, but he had nightmares about Patty kissing him, telling him that he never understood what real love looked like, and being stabbed. Jack reflected on a conversation he’d had with his father, when he told him he’d gotten Jabot back for him.

Jack talked to his father, saying how it was always his strength that got him through things for his family. Just then, he got the photo by text. “Correction,” he added, “For our family.”
