The Young and the Restless Recap July 10: Diane Forgives Jack as Patty Confesses

TL;DR: In The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, July 10th, 2026, Victor makes major leadership decisions at Newman, Patty admits to attacking Jack, Diane and Jack reconcile, and Nikki begins adapting to her blindness.

The Young and the Restless Recap July 10

At the GCAC, Victor met with Nick and Adam. Nick told Victor that it meant the world to him that he let Nikki come home to recuperate. He hoped it would also force his parents to find their way back to one another.

Victor said he was aware that there was hope for a reconciliation but his role with Nikki was arranging everything she needed to recover. Victor wanted to talk business, so Adam asked what was in store for him now that Newman Media didn’t exist. Victor said they’d get to that.

They talked about some of the changes to the infrastructure that Phyllis had made. Nick said they took a bigger hit in public perception but had ideas on how to fix that. Victor shelved that also, and said they should both know that he appointed Victoria to head the company.

Nick Is Sidelined

Nick pleaded with Victor to reconsider, pointing out that he and Victoria both wanted to go back to running the company together. However, Victor was concerned that the stress would push Nick to starting using again. Nick told Victor to have more faith in him, and said that getting back to work would be best for him to give him something to focus on. “I need this right now,” he told him.

Victor doubled down so Nick asked if there was anything he could do or say to change his mind. Victor told him to give it a few months. “Months?!” Nick snapped. Victor told him his word was final.

Victoria arrived and wanted to join them but could tell she’d missed something. Nick told her that she missed Victor announcing she was running Newman on her own. Victoria was surprised so Nick explained that Victor didn’t think he could handle it. Victor said that he’d simply asked him to take his time recovering from his drug problem. Victoria agreed that the job would be waiting for him when the time was right.

Adam Learns Victor’s Next Move

Adam asked again where his place was in the family company. He said he thought that he could have been slotted in at Chancellor but that was gone as well. Victoria laughed that Chancellor was her mother’s and it was presumptuous for him to have thought that. “Well, it’s a moot point now isn’t it,” Adam shot back.

Adam said he and Chelsea were thinking about rebuilding Newman Media. He asked to pull Arabesque out of the ashes, and they could rebuild it. Victoria and Nick agreed it had potential and was a good idea, but Victor revealed that he’d given it to Phyllis.

Victor explained that he admired how Phyllis pulled off her coup, and she saved Nick’s life. Victoria argued that although Phyllis saved Nick, it wasn’t worth rewarding her with their company. Victor adamantly stated that they had gotten Newman Enterprises back, and everything else was peripheral.

“Even me?” Adam wondered. “Or is there a consolation prize for the black sheep of the family?” Victor said they were going after Spectra Charles but Adam said he didn’t want that. He pointed out the’d hurt Sally enough and she was expecting. “I’m not going to be part of some hostile takeover,” he said.

Victor told Adam that Phyllis didn’t give Newman Media to Sally, she gave it to the “useless” Billy Abbott. “We will get it back from him,” he said.

Victoria Encourages Nikki

At the ranch, Victoria walked Nikki to the living room, and she counted the steps as she walked. Victoria tried leaning into encouraging Nikki to get back with Victor, but she changed the topic to an accessibility app that Claire put on her phone.

Victoria told Nikki that she was glad she’d slept in the ground-floor bedroom, but asked if there was any hope she’d get back into Victor’s bed. Nikki gasped at her question, but she continued to press for a reunion. She said that she and Victor hadn’t talked about a reunion, and she was fine with that as it always led to a fight.

Diane Is Rushed Into Treatment

At the hospital, Kyle carried Diane down the hall, yelling for help as she struggled to stay conscious. Kyle put her on a bed in the hall outside of Jack’s room. A nurse appeared and he told her that she’d been injected. Handing her the needle, he said they’d have to find out what was in it to help her.

As the nurse listened to Diane’s heart, Traci came out of Jack’s room, and Kyle told her what happened. Traci told Diane that Jack was awake and couldn’t wait to see her when she was ready. She was relieved but told Kyle to go be with him.

In Jack’s room, he perked up with Kyle there. He wanted to call Michael and Christine and make a statement as soon as possible to clear Diane. When he asked where she was, Kyle told him Patty, dressed as a nurse, was trying to inject his IV, was interrupted, and she was now in police custody.

They heard a kerfuffle in the hallway, so Traci went to investigate. Det. Burrow and the security guard were in the hall; Patty had bitten the guard’s cheek. As Traci was telling her, “How dare you hurt my family,” Kyle opened the door and demanded to know what Patty injected Diane with. From his room, Jack yelled that he wanted to talk to Patty.

Patty Confesses to Jack

“Five minutes. It’s important,” Kyle told Burrow. The guard and the detective walked into Jack’s room with Patty; she had her hands behind her back in cuffs. “Oh, Jack,” she mocked, “When I said I would see you again, I was referring to the eternal love and light of the afterlife. This is just so disappointing.” Jack told her he’d see her again when he got to see her get a life sentence.

Patty admitted stabbing Jack as she told him she loved him and would do it again if she had to. Jack told her that it was over and she wouldn’t bring Patty down. Patty snickered and said maybe she already had. Jack got upset, demanding to know if she’d done something to Diane. Patty flirted, “Until we meet again, Jack…and we will,” as Kyle yelled for her to get Patty out of there. As Jack was demanding to know what they weren’t telling him about Diane, Ashley arrived.

Billy Decides to Reconcile With Jill

Sally came home, and Billy told her that he and Jill got into it. Sally asked if he ever thought about finding a way to heal the rift for good. He said he happened to be thinking of that very thing, partly because of his mom’s health, and partly because of Jack.

Billy noted that he and Jack sparred for years but were able to figure it out, and now that he’s in that hospital bed, he didn’t know how he’d feel if they hadn’t reconnected. He said Jill wanted him to go to London with her, but he wasn’t sure what to do. Sally encouraged him to take the trip, so Billy called Jill to tell her.

The phone call was interrupted by Traci, so he told Jill he’d call her back. Traci told Billy that Jack was awake, and Ashley was there. Billy said he’d head right over. “Maybe things are finally looking up for the Abbotts,” Billy smiled.

Jack Learns Of Diane’s Attack

Meanwhile at the hospital, the nurse came to the door and motioned to Kyle and Traci, so they went out to the hall. There, she told them that Diane had been injected with Digitalis, but they’d given her something to counteract it, and she would be able to go home soon.

Traci and Kyle returned to Jack’s room. He immediately insisted that they tell him what happened and to start from the beginning. Kyle admitted that not only did Diane try to kill him, but she attacked Diane too. Jack realized that Diane could’ve died but Ashley told him that she was okay.

Billy arrived and Kyle offered to go check on Diane. Traci gave him the digest version of what happened with Patty. Jack felt even more guilty for what happened on the yacht, knowing it all led to them almost being killed and was sure that Diane would never forgive him now.

Jack and Diane Reunite

As his siblings tried to encourage him, Kyle brought in Diane. Everyone agreed to give them some time alone. Diane cried when she saw Jack and said she was so glad that he was okay. Jack agreed but had to know: “Are we okay?” he asked. He told her again how sorry he was for hurting her.

Diane told Jack he did hurt her, terribly, but she never stopped loving him. When she saw him on the dining room floor, she couldn’t imagine life without him. “That’s when I realized that there was nothing wanted or needed more than to spend the rest of my time on the planet with you,” she said. “I forgive you. It’s in the past. I’ve made peace with it.”

Diane said her heart just needed a little mending but Jack promised to fix it. They kissed and told one another how much they loved one another as the tears flowed.

Nikki Takes Another Step Forward

Back at the ranch, Nikki found herself alone and tried to count to the couch. She couldn’t remember how many steps it was to the couch but tried to walk and made it. “So much for my counting,” she sighed.

Nikki tried to find her phone on the table, but couldn’t. Her caregiver, Laura, came in and helped. Nikki said she was trying to do things on her own and asked her to stay close but to let her make her way back to her room.
