The Young and the Restless Recap Feb 27

At Newman, Phyllis relished working from Victor’s office…er, her office. She put her feet up on the desk as Lauren arrived. Lauren laughed and said what a trip it was to see Phyllis in Victor’s office. “My office,” Phyllis corrected.
Despite Phyllis’ assumption, Lauren said she wasn’t there to scold her. Instead, she said that she admired her.
Lauren said that in one stroke, Phyllis knocked Victor Newman off his throne and became one of the most powerful women in the world. “This is an immense victory, and right or wrong, you should be commended on the sheer audacity for pulling this thing off!” Lauren enthused.
Suspiciously, Phyllis questioned her sincerity, but Lauren insisted she meant every word. She promised to try to stay neutral.
Lauren Offers A Sympathetic Ear

Phyllis admitted it was hard to enjoy the victory when her kids weren’t talking to her but said she did it for their future as well. Lauren was going to let Phyllis get to work but paused to tell her that she heard it was lonely at the top.
Lauren offered to be there to talk if needed. She pointed out that Phyllis still loved Nick and wouldn’t want to cause him or Summer pain, or Sharon, her sorta friend.
“Knowing your heart, I’d be very surprised if you didn’t have the slightest remorse, if you want to admit it or not,” Lauren added.
Phyllis wondered why no one could ever be Team Phyllis. She thought it was amazing how every Newman behaves like they’re the wronged party. Lauren said she was trying not to take sides, but had her issues with Victor.
Lauren agreed that while Victor has been on her side on occasion, the bad outweighed the good. As for Nick, Lauren said he has sometimes championed Phyllis, but never when Victor went after her livelihood or her happiness. Phyllis told Lauren how Nick had told her off, and some of it cut deep.
Lauren offered to take Phyllis out for a celebratory breakfast, and she could lend a sympathetic ear.
Nick Takes More Pills

At Crimson Lights, Victoria came looking for Nick but Sharon told her that she didn’t think he was going to Milan as he he was focused on finding Matt.
Sharon told Victoria that Nick’s mood seemed to swing with his medication, and that she was worried he would get addicted to the pain pills. She said that with Matt Clark free, the last thing on his mind was taking care of himself and seeing a doctor.
Outside, Nick took out another pill from his bag of fentanyl. He contemplated taking it then threw it to the ground. Nick almost went inside then changed his mind, found it in the snow, and swallowed the pill.
Matt Texts Nick

Nick said that because of Matt, he had to stay in Genoa City and didn’t think it was the right move to get his daughter to turn on her mother. “So I am asking as her father, please do not get Summer involved in this,” Nick pleaded.
Nick admitted he felt bad enough to be the one to tell Summer what Phyllis did and to put her between her parents. Victoria thought that Victor’s plan with Lily wasn’t enough to get results from Cane.
Nick got a text from Matt, asking if the $5 million to leave town for good was still on the table. Nick responded that he should come see him and work things out. Matt replied that $5 million was the price to keep him away from his son.
Victoria suggested that Nick call Victor’s men, but he said he had a plan. It was to get Matt to come to them, he said, and it was an offer that Matt wouldn’t be able to resist.
Sally Visits Chancellor

At Chancellor, Billy mused that the last time he was in that office, he was betrayed by someone who loved him, but never again. Sally came in and told him that she hired Audra and changed the company name to Spectra Charles.
Billy was taken aback but understood her decision. Sally thanked him for securing Newman Media, as it would help get the company off the ground.
Billy stopped Sally from leaving. He said it was his fault that their professional relationship fell apart, but he missed her and didn’t understand why a business disagreement had to ruin a damn-near perfect relationship.
Billy took Sally’s hand and asked her to dinner. “Give me one chance to convince you not to give up on us,” he said. Sally didn’t want to move backwards.
Spectra Charles

Sally went to Society and saw Sally working on new logo designs. Sally admitted she went to see Billy and what she said.
When Sally told Audra that Billy invited her to dinner, Audra protested. Sally told her she knew what she was doing, but Audra said she did, too: Sally was giving Billy another chance.
Sally insisted that she knew she would never give Billy another chance. She knew he’d never put her first, but didn’t want to end on bad terms. She wanted to take him up on his offer to have a final goodbye.
Audra was sure that the best idea for Sally was to just not go for dinner at all, but she thought she could handle it.
Phyllis’ Power Move

Lauren and Phyllis went to the GCAC for breakfast. Billy came in and spotted them and came to their table to question the pairing.
Lauren gave Billy a lot more grief than she gave Phyllis, but he said he had nothing to do with it; he was just in the right place at the right time.
When Lauren called Billy an opportunist, he wondered why, since she was condoning Phyllis’ actions.
Billy casually reminded Phyllis that people were going to come out of the woodwork now to be her friend, just to convince her that she needed to give the company back. Billy advised her not to fall for it, because she’d come way too far to get what she wanted to give it up now.
Once alone, Phyllis told Lauren how no one wanted to hear her side, no one cared about anything except her always being in the wrong. Everyone hated what Victor did and wanted to bring him down, but aren’t okay with it because it was her.
Lauren was sorry she felt that way, and told Phyllis if there was something she could do to say the word. Phyllis said there was something she could do: “Come work for me,” she replied.
Lauren said she was content where she was but Phyllis questioned that. She told her to put Michael’s opinion aside and think about it. Together, they could take over the world, Phyllis encouraged.
