Sharon was working at Crimson Lights when Mariah surprised her. She said she was home to stay. Mariah shared that she’d been released by court order from her treatment center. She was much better and had learned a lot about herself; her dark thoughts were gone, and she was full of gratitude and forgiveness.

Mariah marveled that she’d just come from home, and said that Tessa welcomed her back with open arms, and Aria was equally loving. “It feels like I just came from the darkness into the light, and I plan on staying there,” Maria told her mom.

Noah came in and was happy to see Mariah. He warned her that Matt’s redemption was an act, but Mariah noted that she did some terrible things and had done the work. Noah said that wasn’t the case with Matt, that he was incapable of changing and not to let her guard down.

On that note, Noah announced that he didn’t want to be around Matt, so he and Sienna were going to L.A. Mariah wasn’t happy that he was saying ‘hi/bye’ as she just got back. He explained that he was used to running clubs remotely, so he wasn’t worried about the Shadow Room. Noah hoped that by the time they returned to Genoa City, Matt would be gone and Nick would be done with rehab, and life would go back to normal.

Victoria Tries to Broker Peace

Kyle and Victoria

At GCAC, Kyle ran into Victoria, and she invited him to join her. Victoria announced that her mom got her eyesight back, and Kyle happily said he’d share the information with his dad, who would be relieved. Kyle updated Victoria that his parents were home together.

Victoria said it would be nice for both of their parents to get to the other side of their nightmares, but Kyle wasn’t ready to celebrate that.

Kyle explained he wasn’t interested in Victor getting away with what he did. He told Victoria that Victor’s war against his family was going to end, and he would put a stop to it. Victoria asked for peace, noting that anything he did would come back to haunt him.

Victoria defended that this experience had changed Victor. He said he’d nearly lost his life’s work and his wife, whom he loved. She thought that although Victor wasn’t saying it, she suspected he was regretting that his vendettas cost him as much as they did.

Victoria noted that one day she and Kyle would be the ones to take over and run the companies. She added that their fathers may have started the war, but they could end it.

Nick Faces Withdrawal

Nick Newman

At the rehab, Nick had a nightmare that Matt was trying to kill Sharon and Noah. He dreamt he was at Crimson Lights and all the sugar packets were little bags of fentanyl. As he gobbled them down, he was unable to be of help when Sharon screamed from the patio. He looked and saw her crying over Noah, who was dying on the ground.

Nick woke up and was shaking and upset. He called for help, saying he needed to get out of there immediately. Nick started to call Sharon but stopped himself. He realized he was having harsh withdrawals and that the nightmare wasn’t real. Nick knew he couldn’t call Sharon and make her worry, and told himself he’d get through it on his own so he could be there for his family.

Nikki and Victor Look Ahead

At the ranch, Nikki told Victor that she was happy that Chancellor was back with Lily, as it never felt right that they took it from her the way that they did. She also told him that she understood why Victor gave Phyllis a second chance and Matt a place on the property – because they saved Nick’s life.

Victor told Nikki not to let it get around that he was a softie. Nikki wanted to make the most of the years they had together. Noting that Nick needed some time to himself, per his own request, they decided to plan a trip to Venice.

When Victoria got to the ranch, they told her the good news. She was happy that it was the start of a new beginning, and hopefully “for all of them.”

Jack Gets Good News

Jack and Diane
Jack and Diane | The Young and the Restless | CBS

At the Chancellor Park Cafe, Diane took Jack out for a walk, and they paused when he got a call from Detective Burrow. Jack relayed to Diane that Dr. Laurence Markham had been apprehended. The information Traci got about his summer rental was correct, and they arrested him without incident. “It’s over,” Jack said.

Additionally, Patty had been transferred to a maximum-security psychiatric ward, and there was no way she could get out again. Now that the threat was over, Jack noted that it was all Victor’s fault. Diane told Jack that Kyle was planning a way to get back at Victor, and there was part of her that was on board with it.

However, as tempting as it was, she didn’t think they should do anything in retaliation. Since they were still recovering, there was no need to put more stress on their lives. Diane wanted to focus on enjoying their lives together.

Just as Jack agreed that Victor took up too much time, thoughts, and energy, Kyle appeared. He said that he thought it might be a good time to talk about how they were going to hit back at Victor — and “hit him hard.”
