The Young and the Restless Recap August 26: Victor Supports Nick, Jack Rejects Lily, and Lily Challenges Billy

TL;DR: In today’s The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Victor supports Nick through rehab as he refuses Marie’s request to find drugs, while Jack rejects Lily’s offer for Chancellor and Lily challenges Billy to prove he’s the right person to run the company.

The Young and the Restless Recap August 26 

At the rehab facility, Nick was working on his puzzle when Victor walked in. Nick told Victor it wasn’t easy to ask people to visit, because he didn’t want anyone to see him like that. “I don’t give a damn where you are — here, at home… you’re my son,” Victor said tearfully. 

Victor said that Nick didn’t ask for this situation, and he would never go through it alone. “We’ll win this together. You’re a Newman, and together we’ll fight this,” Victor encouraged as they shared tears.

Nick told his dad about Marie, how she’d overdosed, but ultimately she came to the rehab because of something he’d said. For a moment, he said it made him feel like the old him. Victor wondered if he and Marie were becoming close.

Nick said he didn’t even know Marie’s last name. He noted if Victor was worried that it would be too intense for Nick, he said that everything there was intense.

After Victor left, Marie came in, distraught. She told Nick that her husband was filing for divorce. After ranting about it, Marie told Nick she was frisked when she came in, and that meant that others were too. She figured that any of the drugs confiscated would be there somewhere, and wanted Nick to help her find them. 

Nick told Marie he understood her need, but said no to her request. Nick made it clear that he wanted to do what he had to so he could get out of there and get back to his family.

Jack Turns Down Lily’s Offer

Jack stopped by Lily’s and told her that he respected her, but he was rejecting her offer. Lily didn’t take the news well, but Jack said it was simple: there was a contract, it wasn’t fulfilled, and the Abbott family had a claim on Chancellor. 

Jack agreed that his father would have done anything for Katherine, but also felt that if they’d both agreed the matter was concluded, they would have ripped up the contract. “Well, we can’t really ask John Abbott now, can we?!” Lily snapped. She asked if Jack was for her having the company or against it. 

Jack explained that as fond as he was of Lily, it wasn’t about her. He said it was about Abbott family unity, which meant the world to him. Jack said that Lily would have to work out with Billy. “Even though you’re the head of the family,” Lily seethed. Jack told her that every family member had a role; he just happened to be the firstborn.

“Well, I really thought that you and I could’ve resolved this together,” Lily said angrily. Jack told her it was a valiant effort, but he had to step back. On that note, he advised her to guide every decision with the knowledge that she knew who she was dealing with, and that they held the winning hand.

Lily said she would fight it as long as it took, at whatever cost. Jack wondered if it would be the end of the world if she ended the fight right now and gave Billy the win.

Victoria and Kyle Revamp Audra’s Idea

Victoria came to see Kyle at his request to discuss her plan for a competition between Vibrante and Jabot. He pointed out that she was using the plan he and Audra developed but still wouldn’t commit to it, even though it was a good idea. 

Kyle hadn’t talked to Jack and said his parents were about to go on a vacation. Amid innuendo about building anticipation and making the build-up worth the payoff, Victoria and Kyle bickered about whose company was more successful.

Like Audra, Victoria was wearing Jabot perfume, which Kyle noticed. They were flirting when Jack and Diane walked in behind them and looked confused. Kyle said he explained that they were working on a project, but it could wait until they returned from their vacation. 

Jack assured Victoria he’d still be available to Nick when he was ready. Victoria mentioned that her dad wasn’t fully on board with Jack being Nick’s sponsor yet. Jack wasn’t surprised, but Diane took a swipe at it, saying that it would require Victor to set his ego aside for someone else’s need, and wished her good luck with that.

Victoria glared at Diane and defended Victor, but before they got into a fight, Jack interrupted and wanted them to go pack for their trip. Diane told Kyle the jet was waiting, so they skipped out to get the vacation started.

After his parents left, Kyle poured him and Victoria a drink. They went back to bantering, with undertones that signaled their attraction, and toasted their partnership.

Lily Makes Billy An Offer

Lily called Billy on the phone. She offered to meet one-on-one to talk about it before going to their lawyers. Billy reluctantly came over and had out her golf set. He asked if she was trying to remind him of the good old days. Lily fondly recalled those days when they worked together and were together, but had to point out that Jill basically hired her to babysit him and that they broke up.

Billy asked why he was there. He hoped for a clean transfer of ownership, but said if she wanted to make one last pitch, she should. Lily told Billy about her offer to Jack, and his response. Billy said if she was offering, then she knew he was right.

Billy suggested she just transfer ownership cleanly and they could both get on with their lives. Lily said she cared about Chancellor and was invested. Billy noted if that was true, she wouldn’t have put Billy in charge. She threatened to drag things out but said she would surrender without a lawsuit if Billy could convince her that he was the best person to run Chancellor. “But I will promise you it is not going to be an easy sale,” Lily told him.
