The Young and the Restless Recap August 21: Lily Tries to Deal With Jack, Victor Warns Billy, Sharon Visits Nick

TL;DR: In the Young and the Restless recap for Friday, August 21st, 2026, Lily tried to swing a deal with Jack, Cane told on Billy, Sharon visited Nick, and Victor ordered Adam to turn Billy into dust in scorched-earth media coverage.

The Young and the Restless Recap August 21

Lily met with Jack at Jabot, and he asked why she wanted to talk to him behind Billy’s back. Lily asked if he’d looked into his father’s finances, and if the loan existed. Jack told her a large transfer of money had happened at the time, and there was no proof it had been repaid.

Jack made it clear to Lily that he wanted to stay out of it, but Lily said since it involved John Abbott, it involved Jack as well. Lily offered to make a deal with Jack before Billy spun it out of control: she said she’d pay back the loan with interest, and the matter would be closed.

Jack declined, so Lily tried to use every sales tactic she could think of to close the deal. Ultimately, Jack said that this was more than about a company; it was about family, and he wanted to take his time with it and figure out what the right thing to do was.

Chelsea Tries To Dig Billy For Information

Chelsea saw Billy at Crimson Lights and asked him if it was true he was going after Chancellor again. Billy assumed she was fishing for a story for Newman Media. He said he would never willingly give Adam Newman a story. 

Chelsea reminded Billy that he could control the narrative, but Billy laughed that Adam would always only write about him in a negative light. Chelsea still seemed convinced that she could control Adam personally and professionally. “Tell me everything, and I’ll make sure this story is done right,” she promised.

Billy said he would give Adam and Victor the scoop by proxy. He said the press wouldn’t help him, so he declined. Chelsea asked why he didn’t trust her. Billy told Chelsea that since she needed to go back to Adam with something to report, she could tell him that Billy was focused on his pending marriage and baby. He said they could come around and take pictures of the nursery, but his business affairs were off limits.

Cane Fills In Victor and Adam About Billy

Cane went to the main house and told him what Billy was doing. Victor summoned Adam so Cane could tell him the details, too. Adam acted like he knew nothing about it and dismissed Cane as being worthy of his time. 

Adam thought that it was fantastic that Jill might have known about it all along and sold Chancellor to her son’s mortal enemy instead of giving him the world. Victor didn’t care; he wanted Adam to use the information Cane had just provided to discredit Billy until there was nothing left of him but a pile of ash.

Later, Chelsea found Adam at the house and told him about her conversation with Billy. She told him that he wasn’t going to give her the scoop; Adam said she could try again.

Sharon Visits Nick

Sharon went to the rehab to visit with Nick. Over coffee, they talked about how he got there, and Nick said she saw him at his worst. Sharon reminded him that she’d seen her at hers as well, and thanked him for letting her come visit.

Nick guessed that she had something to tell him, that he wouldn’t like it, and that it had to do with Matt Clark. Sharon told Nick about her conversation with Matt, and he was right, he didn’t like it. He shared that Marie showed up at the rehab as well and she survived the overdose.

Nick was unimpressed that Noah and Sienna had to leave town instead of Matt. Sharon agreed it was self-serving of him to stay in Genoa City. Nick said that when he got out of rehab, he wanted the two of them to take Faith and Christian, and hopefully Mariah if she wanted to, and go to California. 

Victor Threatens To Ruin Billy

Billy went to GCAC and ran into Victor, who promised him that he would never get his grubby hands on Chancellor. Billy told Victor it had nothing to do with him, although he admitted he would have rather taken it from Victor than Lily.

Victor told Billy to keep smiling and warned that he was going to destroy him. “What’s the point of success if you can’t piss at least one person off? And you’re always my first pick,” Billy scoffed before leaving. 

As Billy got to the entrance, he ran into Cane and Lily. He told them that they made a mistake telling Victor the news. “A gambler always wants to play against the best because then, when they win, it feels like it’s earned. You know, a combination of skill, talent, and nerves of steel. And that’s the kind of winner that Chancellor Industries deserves at the helm,” Billy told them.
