The Young and the Restless Recap August 13: Billy Uncovers Chancellor Bombshell as Nick Reunites With Marie

TL;DR: In the Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, August 13th, 2026, Nick is suprised when Marie shows up to his group meeting, Victoria struggles with the reality of Nick’s condition, Sharon confides in Mariah, and Billy uncovers a bombshell revelation about who really owns Chancellor Industries.

The Young and the Restless Recap August 13

At Crimson Lights, Sharon told Mariah that when she got to the motel, the door was unlocked and there were drug packets on the floor. Nick was broken and there was nothing she could do. Nick saw her, reached out and hugged her. “I think it really hit him that this was a lifelong battle and he saw a new world for him,” Sharon explained.

“He didn’t get high last night on his own,” Sharon told her. She said that he talked about a woman named Marie, and things got pretty dark for both of them. After hearing about Marie, Mariah said it sounded like what they went through when Nick overdosed and that was a lot to process.

Mariah eminded Sharon taht Nick called her because Nick trusted her. “The only reason I’m even here right now is becasue someone helped me over and over and over again,” Sharon said. She said that she felt honored to be able to be the one to do the helping this time.

Nick Goes Back To Treatment

At the treatment center, Nick was i group sssion and talked about how he went to a family event, and that he missed his teenage son. Since he wasn’t sure when he’d see him again, he said he’d stay the night. But Nick said he knew in his heart that he didn’t want to come back to rehab. “So maybe I don’t want to get clean,” he said.

Nick recounted getting drugs, checking into a dump of a motel, and eventually flushing the temptation. But then he and the woman in the room next to him, they did drugs together and for the first time ever, he was able to just be. Nick said the woman almost died and he didn’t even know her last night.

“Sounds like you saved her life,” a voice said behind him. Nick turned to see Marie at the group session. Marie took a seat and Nick continued talking about how he felt. He talked about family and looked at Marie as he said even strangers, whoever people could lean on to do the work. 

Marie Talks to The Group

When Nick was done, Marie took a turn. She talked about how she had a night with some good moments but being high does that, but the next day you think about all the things you did. She said how this guy that she met just wanted to be left alone but she wasn’t having it. She wanted to stop talking but said she deserved an award for showing up.

After the meeting, Nick and Marie talked. She said that she had her stomach pumped, and joked that all she could think was, “Do you know how much those drugs cost me?” Nick kind of laughed, and said she looked better than the last time he saw her. Marie said a friend brought her clothes and dropped her off at the treatment center.

Marie admitted that she wasn’t thrilled the night before that Nick made her live, but she was going to let it slide this time. Nick told Marie that he’d been on her side of an overdose before and he got the experience of watching it. He wondered if she was going to stay in treatment and she said she was there, and that’s all she could commit to at the moment, which Nick understood.

The Newmans Process The New Normal

At the main house, Victor told Nikki and Victoria that he shouldn’t have invited Nick to the ceremony, or he should have brought him back to the treatment center himself. Victoria insisted it wasn’t his fault, and was just glad Nick was back in rehab.

Sharon joined them and updated how Nick was when she brought him to rehab. Victor wanted to know what happened at the motel. Sharon tried to explain how they could and could not help, and that Nick wasn’t eh same man he was a year ago. Victoria asked her to stop, and just wanted everything to go back to how it was. 

Billy Tells Jack and Kyle About Jill’s Secret

At the Chancellor Park Cafe, Billy joined Jack and Kyle and said he found something out that Jack needed to know. Kyle scoffed, and Jack told Billy that Cane already told him that Billy found a mystery to obsess about. “But what do I know? I didn’t even know you took a position at Chancellor under Cane,” Jack added. “That IS news,” Kyle snickered.

Billy told Kyle that it was not the news he came to share and added that he’d appreciate it if Kyle didn’t interrupt. Billy explained that Jill let it slip that there was a big secret buried deep at Chancellor — and he found out what it was.

Billy explained how Katherine got the company from Gary Reynolds and gave it to Philip Chancellor. At one point, Chancellor was on the brink, and someone gave money to save the company. “Please don’t say Victor,” Jack sighed. “It was none other than the late, great John Abbott,” Billy revealed.

The Chancellor Industries Bombshell

Billy explained the history of how John gave him the money, but said it wasn’t a favor between friends. Jack agreed that Philip never would’ve taken a handout. Billy insisted it was a business deal, and said he had the proof. Billy found the agreement with John’s signature on it. 

Jack listened intently as Billy explained the terms of the contract that he found: Philip and Chancellor Industries had 20 years to pay back the debt. If they didn’t pay it back in full by the deadline, John Abbott or his heirs would own Chancellor Industries outright. “Full possession, business as usual,” Billy said.

Billy added that Philip died in the 1970s, but Jill knew about the deal. He didn’t know who told her or how she knew, but she’s known this entire time. “She cut me loose because she knew he would find out. My own mother would rather I feel like useless garbage than to tell me the truth,” Billy fumed. The bottom line, though, Billy told Jack and Kyle, was that they owned Chancellor Industries.
