The Young and the Restless Recap April 30: Sally Says Yes to Billy, Daniel Betrays Phyllis, Jack Wants To Team Up With Patty

TL;DR: Sally accepts Billy’s proposal, and they are officially engaged. Phyllis is devastated when Daniel betrays her to the new D.A., Christine. Jack finds a reason to smile after coming up with a new revenge plot against Victor in today’s Young and the Restless recap.

The Young and the Restless Recap April 30

Billy went to see Jack at the Abbott mansion and told him that Sally was pregnant, and he proposed. Jack offered congratulations on his engagement, but Billy told him that she hadn’t answered yet.

Billy hoped that she would say yes, but quickly realized he was being insensitive about his happiness when Jack wasn’t. Jack didn’t want to rain on his parade, but he did have a lot on his mind.

Jack admitted that he didn’t remember a lot, but was questioning if, in the moment, he did want to have sex with Patty. He said that he’d figured out that Victor was involved in his being there and played along to get into Patty’s mind.

Jack wasn’t sure, but he thought the drugs kicked in, and he wasn’t sure what happened next, but knowing himself, he could see himself going all in to defy Victor.

Jack shared that he’d lost hope about his marriage, and it just made him want to go after Victor even more. He wondered if he could convince Patty to team up with him and go after Victor together.

Sally Shares Her Good News, Kinda

Sally met with Audra at the Chancellor Park Cafe and told her that she and Billy had a huge talk, and that Billy was excited about the baby and wanted them to be a family.

Audra asked how Sally felt and wondered if she was still scared. Sally said they both were, but she was incredibly happy as well. 

Sally revealed that Billy proposed, and Audra worried that she’d done a complete 180 on her feelings since she last talked to her. Sally insisted she was in love and that Billy had already bought the ring prior to the pregnancy announcement.

Audra noticed that Sally wasn’t wearing the ring, so Sally admitted she hadn’t accepted the proposal yet. “I knew something was off. You’re not ready, are you?” Audra wondered.

Um…Not Sally Giving Us A B&B Crossover Memory?

Sally shared that she had been engaged to a guy named Wyatt in L.A. a few times, and he kept breaking things off with her for another woman. She said she did things out of desperation that she wasn’t proud of, trying to hold on to him.

Sally began to cry as she recalled it, and said she had tried really hard to get over the fact that no one ever chose her.

Audra noted how painful that must have been, but said that Billy had chosen her. “I know…but what if I’m not enough? What if he changes his mind?” she wondered.

Sally added that it never works out for her. “Wyatt never got me a ring. He got one for her,” she said. Audra reminded her that Billy had gotten her a ring and had chosen her.

“I know that old wounds can build an armor, and I know that sometimes those things are there for a reason. So I guess my question to you is…which is it?” Audra asked.

Billy Looks For Answers…One In Particular

Billy interrupted before Sally could answer, so Audra made a quick exit. “It’s like a running gag at this point,” Billy said, noting that Audra bolted every time they were in the same room. “She really doesn’t like me, does she?” he asked.

Sally suggested that he talk to Audra and smooth things out because they both think the other doesn’t care for them. Billy said he was happy about their friendship and likened it to his relationship with Jack.

“He makes me a better man. Now, how about you make me an honest man? Have you thought about the proposal?” he asked hopefully.

Sally told Billy that she wanted what he did. “Does that mean yes?” he asked. “That’s a definite yes,” Sally told him. Billy pulled out the ring and asked her again to marry him. This time, she said yes right away, and he put the ring on her finger.

Phyllis Tells Victor and Victoria To Bring It

Phyllis went to the ranch and told Victor and Victoria that she wasn’t giving the company back and that she would see them in court. Victor told her that seeing her so defiant made it easier to see her behind bars.

Phyllis said Victor seemed desperate, and he’d be laughed out of court. Victoria reiterated that they had proof, but Phyllis said she’d get Cane to testify on her behalf about how Victor stole his company using the AI program, plus he kidnapped and drugged Jack.

Victor laughed that only Phyllis was going down, and not Cane or anyone else. Victoria said that her kids wouldn’t want her to go to jail, and she should just fold. 

Victor and Victoria happily told Phyllis that Christine was the new D.A. and her worst enemy held the power to deliver justice. “In your case, it’ll be swift and merciless,” Victor added.

Patty Tells Kyle He Looks Prettier When He Smiles

Patty came down the stairs of the GCAC and ran into Kyle in the lobby. He asked why she was still in town but warned, “If your answer had anything to do with my father, you and I are going to have problems.”

Patty insisted that she’d turned her life around and wanted to prove it to everyone. She laughed that if Diane could do it, so could she.

Kyle told Patty to leave town, but she said she was hoping to find life or love, maybe with Jack. Kyle insisted that his parents would be reunited, and if she interfered, he would be dedicated to making her life miserable.

Patty was undeterred and told Kyle he reminded her of Jack, but that scowl on his face didn’t do him any favors.

My Dad’s Better Than Your Dad

Victoria walked in as Patty sauntered out and asked Kyle if it was Patty. “The viper herself,” he quipped. Victoria admired that she hadn’t aged a day.

“That’s an interesting take on someone who is ruining my parents’ life: what she looks like,” Kyle scowled. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to be insensitive,” Victoria offered. “Yeah, it would be a change of pace for you,” Kyle snarked.

Kyle wondered how she slept at night knowing the damage that Victor had done to his family. Victoria told Kyle that he had no proof, and Victor denied it.

Kyle said he thought she was different, but in the end, none of them ever stood up to Victor. Still, he believed that deep down, she felt guilty for having played a part in destroying Jack and Diane’s marriage.

Victoria told Kyle that her dad was no different than his. She said Jack had a list of things he’d done wrong over the years. 

Victoria admitted that Victor was flawed, but she almost watched him die last year, and that made her forgive and forget everything. She told Kyle to judge himself before coming for them.

Daniel Tips Off The D.A.

At Crimson Lights, Danny wanted to celebrate Christine’s first day as D.A., but she wanted to wait until dinner and get to work. Daniel came in and offered his congratulations.

Within seconds, Daniel told them that Phyllis was afraid of Christine taking the job and that Victor had evidence that she stole the company. 

Daniel positioned it that Phyllis was hysterically begging him to ask Christine not to come after her, and that she claimed the evidence was fake.

Christine admitted that she’d already heard from Victoria, who paid her a visit and let her know evidence that proved Phyllis committed a crime was coming. Cricket said that she would be compelled to look at it.

Daniel told Christine that Phyllis did seem genuine when she said the evidence was fabricated. Christine told him that would also be a crime, but she’d need to see it first to decide.

Phyllis Gets A Shock

Phyllis went to Crimson Lights, where she found her son still with Danny and Christine. She asked about their honeymoon and if they were going on one.

Christine happily told Phyllis that they were staying in town so she could be D.A. “And it’s beginning to look like my first case could be involving you,” she added gleefully.

Phyllis looked at Daniel and told him he obviously threw her under the bus already by having a private conversation and running to Christine and Danny with it. “Oh, you feel betrayed?” Daniel snickered.

Phyllis went to the counter, but Daniel insisted on talking so the whole place could hear. 

Phyllis’ Heart Breaks In Front Of A Live Audience

Christine and Danny had a front-row seat, but turned to watch as Daniel started listing specifics of what they had talked about. 

Phyllis pointed out that he was actually saying all these things in front of the D.A. “It kills me to my absolute core that my own children took Victor Newman over me. You want to see me go to prison, don’t you?” she asked.

Daniel told Phyllis he didn’t want her to go to prison, so she should just give Victor back his company, and everything would be okay.

Phyllis snapped that he really was taking Victor’s side. Christine and Danny stood up and joined them; Christine told Phyllis she was making a spectacle of herself.

Phyllis told Christine she wouldn’t know how it felt to have a child betray you, but assured her it was like having a dagger in your heart. Before marching out, Phyllis told Daniel that she would never forget he did this and she would never forgive him.

Ol’ Smilin’ Jack Is Back

Once alone, Jack recalled how he tried to win Patty over to get out of the room on the boat, and even questioned if she was trying to seduce him, but went along with kissing her as she’d asked. 

Later, Jack went to the GCAC. He saw Patty sitting at the bar, and smiled to himself.
