The Young and the Restless Recap April 24: Victor Corners Phyllis as Matt Turns Deadly

TL;DR: In today’s Young and the Restless recap, Matt chains up Sharon and Noah, planning to kill them. Victor and Victoria use fake emails, paid witnesses, and Christine to pressure Phyllis into transferring Summers Conglomerate back to the Newmans. Chelsea gets Spider and Riza’s backstory, and Adam regrets rushing to the gas station with Nick to take on Matt after realizing Nick is on drugs.

The Young and the Restless Recap April 24

In her office, Phyllis tried to figure out why Victoria was talking to Christine. She knew it was about the company, but didn’t know what exactly.

As Phyllis was talking to her portrait, trying to work through it, Victoria and Victor came in. They told her they were going to make her an offer that she shouldn’t ignore because it was her last chance to get out of the mess she was in.

Phyllis told Victoria that her dad always reneges on deals and wasn’t interested. Victoria told her that they would hand over the information that they found to the D.A. if she didn’t give back the company.

They told Phyllis that Christine was becoming the D.A. the next day. Phyllis wanted proof of what they were accusing her of so Victoria handed her a stack of printed emails.

Phyllis scoffed that none of it existed, and they falsified the so-called proof. Victoria sneered that it was in the eye of the beholder as to what to believe, or in this case, the hands of the D.A.

Phyllis called them hypocrites, accusing her of stealing when they literally drugged a man. Victoria said they were making a good-faith offer.

The Newmans Buy Support 

Victoria filed in former department heads who were all willing to claim they heard Phyllis say that she stole the company. 

Phyllis told Victor that he’d won too many times and didn’t know what it was like to lose, but she beat him, and no one else could. She told him to take their lies to Christine and see what she could do with them.

Victoria said they were giving her the chance to get respect back from her kids. Phyllis called out Victoria for flying to Milan to try to brainwash her child against her.

Phyllis said she’d see him in court, but Victor told her to have the transfer papers drawn up by the end of the day and walked out. Everyone followed him, all staring at her as they left.

Phyllis summoned Lauren and told her what had happened and that Christine was going to be the D.A. 

Matt Holds Sharon and Noah Captive

In the car, Matt told Noah and Sharon that he was the one who sent them the text. When Noah lunged towards the backseat, Matt pulled a gun on them.

Matt wouldn’t give them any information about what he had planned and would only say that Adam and Nick would be there soon. He told them to get out of the car and get into the deserted gas station.

Inside, Matt mocked how easy it was to lure them as they didn’t even verify his text; they just hopped on a plane and came running, believing the whole nightmare was over. “Well, guess what? It’s not,” Matt said snidely.

Matt took their phones, although Noah noted there was no signal, so he didn’t know what difference it would make. Matt told them that he had state-of-the-art technology inside the building for his business.

Adam and Nick Press Riza For Help

In the Vegas hotel room, Nick told Riza he’d wire half a million to her account immediately if she told them where Matt was and what he was planning.

Riza said that before she gave them what they wanted, she needed some sort of guarantee. Adam pleaded with her to take his word.

Adam admitted that his memory was coming back the longer he was there, and said they had a real connection. 

Chelsea looked uncomfortable as Riza took Adam’s offer to protect her. Riza still wanted the wire Nick promised, but he started yelling at her about how she had to give the information first.

Riza ‘Fesses Up

After a standoff, Riza folded and told them about an abandoned gas station that he used for storage, but then admitted that Matt wanted her to tell them.

She said that she wasn’t willing to give them the information because she didn’t want to send any of them to a trap. Nick was sure Matt used their phones to lure Noah and Sharon.

Riza gave Adam a gun, making Chelsea gasp that it’s getting too dangerous. Nick yelled, “It’s Matt Clark! It’s always been dangerous!”

Just then, Riza called Matt and told him that Nick and Adam didn’t take the bait because they thought she was playing them; she said they were headed to Genoa City instead.

No More Mr. Nice Guy

When Matt hung up, Sharon was beside herself that Nick wasn’t coming. Matt was furious that his plan wasn’t working, and went off on Noah about how he ripped his heart out with Sienna.

Matt noted that Noah wasn’t even motivated by knowing Matt’s history with his parents. “And it wasn’t even for a cool reason, like revenge. You just did it because that’s who you are. A Newman,” he seethed.

Matt said Newmans were all the same, and just took whatever they wanted, no matter who it hurt.

Noah apologized, but Matt didn’t care. He had them chained up together and said one of them would die first, and the other would watch it happen.

Chelsea Wants Riza To Talk

Alone in the hotel room, Chelsea was snide with Riza, telling her that Spider didn’t exist and he was just playing her. Riza had questions about how Chelsea mentioned that she used to be a con artist.

Eventually, Chelsea offered to tell Riza about her first con if she told her about how she met Spider. She explained how, at 8 years old, she scammed $300 through the Girl Scouts.

Riza told Chelsea that she and Adam were romantically involved, and later found out they were the perfect partners in gambling, too. Chelsea sternly told Riza that whatever she had with Adam was in the past. “I’m his present and his future,” she added as Riza smiled.

Adam Knows Nick’s Addicted

Nick and Adam drove to the gas station, but Adam could tell that Nick was becoming increasingly agitated, driving erratically, and clearly either had drugs kicking in or they were wearing off. 

Adam regretted having to take on Matt with Nick in that condition. He wished they’d brought Newman security with them. 

None Given At The Ranch

Back at the ranch, Victoria told Victor how skilled he was, and Victor told her that she impressed him. Victor was sure that no matter what Phyllis decided, they were getting back the company, and he wouldn’t mind seeing her behind bars.

Michael Advises Phyllis

Michael came to Summers Conglomerate and told Phyllis that it didn’t matter that Cane technically stole Newman first and that Phyllis didn’t actually steal the company from Victor, because she had it now.

Michael warned her that Christine would likely offer a deal to Billy and Cane to turn on her, and they would likely take it.
