Who Shot Drew on General Hospital? Why All Signs Point to [SPOILER]’s Return
The question of who shot Drew on General Hospital has remained unanswered for four months now. While it could have almost been anybody, as so many in Port Charles had a grudge against the Congressman, all we’ve done since then is rule people out. Until now.
Who Shot Drew on General Hospital
Let’s cut to the chase. Since last September, everyone has been asking who shot Drew on General Hospital. But the PCPD has been chasing its tail, Drew has been busy tormenting everyone, and we still don’t have a confirmed name for the shadowy figure who loomed over his body after pulling the trigger.
It seems the answer to many GH questions may lie in a name on some people’s lips: Cesar Faison.
Do we think Faison pulled the trigger? Of course not. But something funky is going down with his relatives, and the PCPD is asking about as many questions about them as they are about Drew’s shooting. What gives? Let’s find out.
No, Really. Who Shot Drew?
Is it just us, or is everyone in Port Charles just a little too accepting of the return of the suddenly reunited Westbourne family? Nathan’s showing some signs of…something. But Dante doesn’t question anything.
He just hands the guy a gun and a badge and puts him back on the force with not even a refresher course on how to be a cop — and look what happened today with the evidence mishandling. But we digress.
The point is that odd things are happening: Faison’s brain isn’t in a jar, Sidwell’s got a mystery partner, Britt’s got answers in a lab, Dalton took some secrets to the grave…but there’s another Westbourne out there that we think might have had itchy fingers: Nelle.
Is Nelle Alive?
Anything’s possible, and given her family tree, we can’t rule out that Nelle Benson is indeed alive, especially if we follow the golden rule of soaps: if you didn’t see the body go into the ground, they aren’t dead — and even then, it’s 50/50. Nelle’s “death” in 2020 involved a cliff fall and a sketchy identification process by Harrison Chase that we never witnessed on screen. That is a classic open door.
But would Nelle shoot Drew, and if so, why? Well, that one’s easy. One of the many reasons that Michael was infuriated with Drew was because Drew had upset Wiley — and you’ll remember that Nelle gave birth to Wiley (although he considers Willow his mom).
Nelle knows her way around Q mansion. It would have been easy for her to slip in and out, plus she’d know where the gun was, and be able to get the key to steal it.
As for the night of the shooting, Nelle could have seen Michael outside — and he could’ve seen her. If GH wanted to make her Willow’s identical twin now, Michael may have mistaken Nelle for Willow the night of the shooting. That could also explain his additional anger towards Willow for marrying Drew after “she” shot him.
As for the ringtone that Michael has for Wiley (and Trina and Kai heard after the second shot), there could be another explanation other than it being an indication that Michael was the shooter.
Maybe Michael came in and saw Nelle shoot Drew, but thought it was Willow. His phone went off, and he left. He and Willow haven’t spoken about it since, but he thinks she knows that he is protecting her by not flat-out saying that he saw her shoot Drew.
Of course, we’re still leaning towards Trina and Kai being sent back to the drawing board when Michael says that his ringtone for Wiley is something completely different than Twinkle Twinkle. Mind you, at this point he could claim it’s the Alphabet Song and they still wouldn’t catch on.
