The Young and the Restless Recap

Phyllis and Cane sauntered into Victor’s office and told him that Arabesque now controlled his companies, as Phyllis listed the items in the room that now belonged to them.
Cane told Victor that Phyllis deserved to take delight in it after all the torture he’d done to her and others. “But for me? I never did anything to the people that you loved. I never stole anything from you. Yet you tried to destroy everything that I love. You tried ot take everything that I worked for because I wasn’t scared of you, because i Ididn’t bow down to you,” Cane glowered.
Phyllis yelled at Victor for betraying her. She ripped into him for who he was and noted that the only friend he had was on the payroll. Victor told Phyllis it was going to be a pleasure to watch her fall from “the top,” as that’s where she thought she finally was.
Nikki and Victoria came in and told Phyllis to sound so triumphant. Victoria added that Phyllis has never earned anything in life and had her paychecks handed to her.
“Victoria,” Phyllis sighed, “Your daddy has signed your paychecks your entire life while he destroyed your husband for I don’t know how many years.” She then threw shade at Nikki, but Victoria said to focus on her instead.
Phyllis told Nikki and Victoria that they were sheep and minions, cheering Victor on for all the horrible things he did because they benefited from it.
Victoria went off on Phyllis that everything she got in life was handed ot her by a man. She said they were all suckers, and she couldn’t wait to see her turn on Cane. Phyllis told Victoria she didn’t need ot wait for security, she could toss her out herself. “Enough!” Victor bellowed.

Cane told Victor to collect his things unless he wanted them donated to charity. He gave the Newmans one week to vacate the building.
Victor told his wife and daughter that Cane was a punk punching way beyond his weight class, and “she” wasn’t worth talking about. Phyllis was offended he wouldn’t say her name.
Victor told Phyllis her fall was imminent and when it happened, they would toast to her humiliation.
Billy came to GCAC to meet Sally, who was just getting off the phone. She said she had something serious to tell him about the call, but first wanted to know whether he would accept Cane’s offer.
Billy repeated his point of view, and Sally told him hers again. Sally told Billy that they were at the point where one had ot give up everything for the other, which meant they both would lose.
Sally told Billy she had called Jill to let her know Billy wanted to leave the company. However, she spoke with Snapper because Jill had taken a turn for the worse.
Billy thought that he should’ve gotten a call if it was serious, but also thought it was different if Snapper was answering the phone. Sally told Billy to tell his mom that he loved her.
Sally got upset as she lectured Billy about Jill, Chancellor, and his feelings. Before he could respond, she bolted away. On her way out, Sally ran into Adam, who wanted to know what was going on.
Sally told him she had to go and couldn’t talk to him about it anyway. Adam marched over to Billy and demanded to know what he did to Sally.
Adam started goading Billy to hit him, and mocked his self-control. They argued about Sally, and then Newman. Adam told Billy that he was a loser and Sally would dump him.
Adam said he wasn’t worried about Billy at Chancellor because he wouldn’t be there long enough to damage it. Billy walked away, then Adam got a text from the private investigator, who asked for next steps as he’d located Lily and her kids.

Abby and Devon came home from skating with Dominic. As he ran up the stairs, Mariah watched him from the porch through the glass front door.
Mariah returned to the motel room and argued with Ian about whether to take Dominic. Mariah said she couldn’t go through with it, as she’d predicted.
Despite Ian’s insistence, Mariah had a flashback to when she struggled letting go after giving birth to Dom. She said that she couldn’t wreck another family as she’d done to her own.
Mariah and Ian argued. Mariah insisted that Abby was Dom’s mother, who loved him, while Ian reminded her that he came from her flesh and that she loved him first.
Mariah insisted that Aria was her child and loved her accordingly. Ian told her to go back to the beginning, to the moment she lost her way. Mariah had a flashback to saying goodbye Dominic and handing him to Devon and Abby. Ian promised Mariah that he would ensure she and Dominic could live the life she dreamed of and not get caught, if she took him. After listening to his convincing words, Mariah agreed it was time.

Back at the train, Phyllis and Cane popped champagne while he showered her with compliments for her fierceness. He reminded her that Victor would be intimidating, but Phyllis wasn’t afraid of him.
Phyllis told Cane how much she loved winning and thought it was sexy. They began kissing in the chair. Later, they were in bed and Phyllis napped naked next to Cane. He got a message from Lily saying they would never forgive him.
Meanwhile, Billy went to the lakeside cafe and sat outside in the cold. He hoped that he’d hear from Cane, but as he looked at his phone, he considered calling his mom.
Billy had a flashback to a conversation years ago when Jill told him how much she wanted him as a baby and basically tricked John into getting her pregnant and when she admitted she wasn’t an attentive mom.
Billy recalled when Jill told him that despite everything, he turned out pretty good and that he was a fantastic father. He grabbed his phone and called Jill. “Hi Mom,” he said. He asked if she was going to be okay.
Jill gave Billy an update, and he said he’d wait to visit until she was ready but she just had to tell him when, and he’d be on the next plane. Jill told Billy she loved him and he said he knew she did. He was choking back tears when he hung up.
In a flashback, Billy recalled talking about Chancellor with Jill, and her making her legacy his.

Victor, Victoria, and Nikki came home to find Adam and Michael waiting for them. Michael told them that there was nothing fraudulent-looking about anything and that it appeared that Victor approved of transactions.
”The AI is that detailed?” Victoria asked. Michael explained that not only did it show, for example, that Victor signed a document, but the corresponding email appeared to be sent to the logical person involved as well.
“All of the correct emails, staff names, formats. All of it. Dominoes. One after the other, logical and in order,” Michael added.
While others were stunned, Victor asked Adam if he did what he was asked, but wouldn’t tell Nikki what he was up to. Nikki reminded him that Chancellor was her responsibility.
Victor said he would crush Phyllis and Cane. He said they thought they could take on Victor Newman but he would make them pay if it was the last thing he did.

At Chancellor mansion, Devon went to bring in Dominic’s backpack from the porch and found a scarf as well. Abby got a text from Victoria letting her know that it was over: control of Newman Enterprises was lost to Cane and Phyllis.
Devon couldn’t believe Cane’s audacity. Abby was sure her family wouldn’t make it easy for them. Dominic returned and wanted to build a snowman.
Abby took Devon outside as Devon had a call to make before joining them. Abby came back in a while later and asked if Devon had seen Dom as she went to get a bucket, and when she returned, he’d disappeared.
Devon and Abby assumed Dom was playing hide and seek, so they playfully ran off to find him. But he was sleeping in the backseat of Mariah’s car as she drove down the street.
