The Young and the Restless Recap Jan 14: Cane Made His Choice Between Victor and Phyllis
In the Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, when Victor tried to make Cane an offer he couldn’t refuse, Cane picked his alliance, Tessa dropped a bomb on Sharon, Nikki knew who to blame, and Nick had a plan.
The Young and the Restless Recap

At the hospital, Nick told Adam that he had no idea a broken leg could hurt so badly. Adam told him about Jack capturing Matt, trying to trade him, and how Victor sent them away.
Nick couldn’t believe he didn’t foretell the Abbotts following all of the Newmans. “Who knew the Abbotts could stoop that low?” Adam replied.
Adam then told Nick about the attack on Newman and how Victor blamed Cane and Phyllis. Adam said they could lose everything.
The thought of Cane and Phyllis being behind the attack together made it worse for Nick. He didn’t want to stay in the hospital and do nothing.
Adam assured Nick that Victor had Jack and Matt follow, and he was still secure. He said if Jack followed through on his threat to release Matt in the morning if Victor didn’t give him the AI program, then their dad’s men would nab him.
Nick noted that Matt was an escape artist, and they couldn’t assume anything. He insisted on leaving the hospital, even though he’d just had surgery and was in no condition to do so.
At the main house, Nikki was panicking that the sharks were circling. Victoria tried to calm her that all hands were on deck. Nikki ranted about Victor’s vendetta, saying it might cost them everything.
Victoria had faith in her father to be able to intimidate Cane into doing what he wanted, but Nikki thought everyone in town underestimated Cane Ashby. “I hate to say it, but it’s possible that the great Victor Newman has finally met his match,” Nikki told her.
Claire came in, and Nikki gravely told her that the family was on the brink of disaster. Victoria explained the situation, and they blamed Phyllis and Cane. They complained that Phyllis didn’t care about anyone but herself, or that it was her daughter’s family’s company she was attacking.
On Cane’s train, Victor was seething. He warned Phyllis and Cane that they had no idea who they were messing with. Phyllis didn’t want to waste time and told Victor that they were taking over Newman.
Phyllis told off Victor, letting him know she’d been waiting for this day for a very long time. She said that even though she was the mother of his adored granddaughter, he mistreated her and betrayed her over and over.
Victor snickered as Phyllis talked, then ignored her to ask Cane what he wanted to stop the damage. He offered him Arabesque.
Cane told Victor that he didn’t have a price — he was with Phyllis.”Newman Enterprises is ours, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it,” Cane growled.
Victor asked again what Cane’s price was, but Cane doubled down. He told Victor that he dragged his father’s name through the mud and took everything that he and Colin worked so hard for. Cane said he told lies to destroy his father’s reputation.
Cane told Victor he’d throw him a bone. “I’ll sell you Arabesque for pennies on the dollar. Let’s see if you can turn it into the same success that I did,” Cane said.
Victor repeated that Cane and Phyllis would regret this move until their dying day. He told Phyllis she was right about one thing: he adored Summer.
Phyllis looked more somber when Victor told her that he didn’t want to be there the day that Summer told her she loathed her for going ot such great lengths to destroy him, her family, and her father’s family.
At Sharon’s, Noah lamented that Matt was still on the run. Sharon said that he might already be dead for all they knew.
Tessa stopped by to check in on Nick, so Sharon gave her the update. Sharon was surprised when Tessa asked about Sienna.
Tessa explained how she knew Sienna. Noah went upstairs to check on his girlfriend, and Sharon sat down to talk with Tessa, noting that she came back so late at night, so whatever she wanted to tell her must be important.
Tessa told Sharon that she didn’t want to burden her with more upsetting news, but did anyway. Tessa told Sharon how Mariah left the clinic before Christmas — and that it seemed as though Mariah wasn’t coming back.
Tessa told Sharon it was too hard to deal with anymore, so she was filing for divorce. Sharon tried to comfort Tessa, who broke down crying.
Sharon wondered if Mariah was on her way home soon and would explain. Tessa thought that Mariah would only stop in to grab her stuff at best. She noted that she’d told Mariah the thing that would hurt her the most would be being shut out, and Mariah insisted on doing it.

Victor came home and told Nikki, Victoria, and Claire that Phyllis and Cane had admitted their guilt, but he couldn’t make any headway with them to call off the attack.
Victor said the IT department confirmed that their assets were already being transferred to an unknown location. Victoria was at least grateful that she managed to move some holdings to safety for them before it got out of control.
Victor conceded they were in real trouble, and Nikki admonished him for letting it happen. She told Victor that his incessant hatred for Jack clouded his judgment.
Victor began fighting with Nikki, blaming her for threatening to walk out on him and taking Jack’s side. As Victoria yelled at them to stop yelling at each other, Nick and Adam came in.
Nick was determined to help them get out of the mess they were in. He said he needed to get to Phyllis because he was the only one who had a chance of getting through to her.
Phyllis and Cane went to Society. Cane marveled that all the people there were just going about their lives, completely unaware of what was about to happen.
Cane’s eyes lit up as he talked about the Newman apocalypse that was about to happen. He asked if Victor got to Phyllis, and said he’d understand if he had. “Are you regretting this?” Cane asked.
Phyllis said she’d been waiting for the day she could look Victor in the eye and tell him she beat him. “No regrets,” she said. She reminded Cane that they both went all in.
Cane reminded her that Victor threatened to paint an ugly narrative about her to Summer and wanted her to think it through. He noted that Nick would also be after her and wanted to make sure she considered that.
Cane warned Phyllis to be ready, because things were about to go nuclear as well. “Oh, Cane, don’t you realize — it already has!” Phyllis grinned.
