The Young and the Restless Recap February 20: Mariah Talks to Dominic, Victor is Missing, Sharon Suspects Nick

TL;DR: In today’s Young and the Restless recap, Victoria reveals a plan to get revenge on Phyllis by turning her children against her. Nick’s sudden change in demeanor and slurred speech raise major suspicions for Sharon about his pain medication. Plus, Christine is confronted by Abby after she brings Mariah in public and talks to Dominic.

The Young and the Restless Recap Feb 20

At the ranch, Adam told Chelsea he couldn’t reach Victor. Victoria arrived with more news: Phyllis had also gone silent. They questioned whether the two disappearances were connected.

Victoria worried about how far Victor might go for revenge. She believed they had to stop him before he did something the family couldn’t undo. Her solution was to target Phyllis through her children.

Chelsea immediately objected, but Victoria clarified she planned to win Daniel and Summer over — knowing that would devastate Phyllis. Adam said she was going for the jugular. Victoria repeated Victor’s belief in hitting back hard enough that the opponent doesn’t recover.

Nick’s Sudden Turnaround

At Crimson Lights, Nikki stopped by looking for Nick. Sharon and Noah said he’d gone to the ranch and shared how much pain he’d been in. Nick then walked just in, appearing fine; Sharon noted the quick turnaround.

Nick said Adam couldn’t find Victor, and no one else had heard from him either. Nick said Phyllis got swept up by Cane and overplayed her hand. Nikki disagreed, arguing Phyllis knew exactly what she was doing.

After days of vowing to destroy his ex, Nick defended Phyllis as a mother and said she needed to give back their company before forgiveness was possible. He also pointed out she hadn’t been the same since Martin kidnapped her.

Sharon’s Suspicious

When Nikki left after getting a text from Victoria, Noah questioned Nick’s sudden improvement. Nick claimed he found an extra pill in his pocket and needed a refill. Sharon quickly noted that it didn’t add up as he claimed earlier to have another bottle of painkillers at home.

As Nick tried to leave, he began stumbling over his words and making odd facial movements. He insisted he was fine and said he was heading to the farm again. 

Nick perked up again and said he just needed a caffeine boost, motioning to his to-go cup.

After he left, Sharon told Noah that Nick had been on pain meds for a while, but she’d never seen him act like that before, and something was definitely off.

A Walk In The Park

Christine encouraged Mariah to get some fresh air and took her to the Chancellor Park Cafe. By the time they arrived, Mariah already regretted coming. She feared running into Abby or Devon, and wasn’t ready to see her family moving on without her if she bumped into Tessa and Aria.

Christine was alarmed to learn Mariah had gone to Chancellor mansion to speak with Abby and Devon. Mariah said she needed to take responsibility and assure them that Dominic was never in danger. Christine warned that she was jeopardizing her legal case by doing so and asked her not to go back.

Abby Is Mortified

Just then, Abby walked up with Dominic. She saw Mariah and stopped in her tracks. Dom saw Mariah and ran right over to say hi. Mariah was frozen silent so Dom said, “It’s me, Bowie.” 

Dom asked if Mariah was going to get a sundae and apologized for ruining their game of hide-and-seek by wanting to go home when he got tired. 

Mariah told Dom he had nothing to apologize for, but said that she was sorry for keeping him from his mom and dad for so long, as she knew he missed them. 

Mariah and Christine tried to make a quick exit, but Abby asked to speak to Christine, then blasted her for allowing Mariah to be out in public. 

Christine said Mariah had every legal right to be there and reminded Abby of the court’s ruling and the psychological evaluations she’d taken. 

Abby questioned the experts and made it clear she didn’t feel Mariah was safe. Christine assured her that the judge had all the facts and decided Mariah wasn’t a threat to Dom or anyone else. “If only I could believe that!” Abby fumed loudly before walking away.

Devon Consults Nate

At Society, Devon confided in Nate that while Dominic seemed fine, Devon and Abby were struggling to process what Mariah had done. He believed her apology was sincere but questioned whether she was stable.

Devon shared that Mariah had called Dominic “Bowie” and talked about taking him somewhere that sounded like Mexico.

Devon wasn’t sure Christine’s push for treatment over prison was enough. Nate explained that mental illness can distort judgment and urged Devon to focus on the fact that Dominic was home and safe. 

Their conversation shifted to Lily. Neither had heard from her, and both began to wonder if that was cause for concern, particularly because she’d left some balls in the air at work, and hadn’t checked in on it even once. 

Victoria’s Plan to Bring Down Phyllis

Back at the ranch, Nikki learned from Victoria that Claire would be returning from Los Angeles soon. 

Victoria shared that Phyllis was still missing and suspected Victor might be pursuing her. She also revealed she planned to fly to Europe that night to convince Summer to side with the Newmans. 

Nikki doubted Summer would turn on her mother, but Victoria was confident she could break their bond. She said that they had to hit Phyllis from all sides — including on the inside. Having Summer turn on her would destroy Phyllis.

Adam Fears The Worst

Later, while having dinner at the GCAC, Adam told Chelsea he intended to find out what Lily had been promised in exchange for her role in the kidnapping scheme.

Adam suspected Chancellor could be part of the deal, but noted Victor rarely makes such obvious moves. Adam admitted he had a feeling he’d be the one paying the price when the truth finally comes out.
