The Young and the Restless Recap February 17: Victor’s Ruthless Demand, Sally Exits, Nick’s Dangerous Secret
TL;DR: In today’s The Young and the Restless recap, Cane’s desperate plea for his family’s release from Victor was met with a ruthless, if not impossible demand to get Phyllis to give back Newman Enterprises. Sally ended her relationship with Billy, as she didn’t like that he wanted to chase his dreams rather than settling for just her. Billy and Nick have it out. And Nick denies his escalating pain while his limping worsens, while still carrying around that bag of Fentanyl.
The Young and the Restless Recap Feb 17

Cane went to the ranch, but before he could speak, Victor said, “Let me guess: Billy Boy Abbott and Phyllis Summers screwed you over, didn’t they?” “How does it feel, Cane?” Nikki snarked.
Cane told Nikki not to gloat as they were all in the same boat. Cane was shocked to learn that Billy had come over and warned them that Cane was going to double-cross them.
Cane reasoned that since he knew that it was Phyllis and Billy who had his company, and that he was not a threat, he should let Lily and the kids go. Victor said it wasn’t his problem that Phyllis had pulled a fast one, and if he wanted his family released, then it was up to him to get Phyllis to make things right.
Cane didn’t know how to make that happen, but Victor barked at him to figure it out. When Cane asked for assurance that Victor wouldn’t hurt Lily and his kids, Victor wouldn’t commit.
Instead, Victor told Cane that he was the one who brought his family into it by going after Victor’s company. Cane turned to Nikki and asked her if she was really okay with Victor holding his family against their will.
Victor interrupted to yell that either Cane get his company back, or he would never see Lily or his kids again. Cane looked at Nikki for help, but she didn’t flinch, so he left.
Once alone, Nikki asked Victor if there was another way to handle the situation, but he said no. Nikki wasn’t sure that Lily would continue to go along with anything now that Phyllis had control of Newman Enterprises.
Sally Tells Adam He Lost Newman Media — To Her

Sally approached Adam at the GCAC and insisted that she had no idea that she and Billy were on the outs, and that it was his idea to fold Newman Media into Abbott Communications. Until that moment, Adam had no idea it had happened.
Sally sympathized with Adam’s situation, and he didn’t blame her for Billy’s ego. He asked what she meant about her, and Billy just had tension or if the relationship was fractured.
Adam wondered if Billy screwed over Sally, but she said he had not. Adam then suggested that Billy could take back over Abbott Communications at any time.
Sally told Adam that she had an iron-clad contract to prevent that from happening. “Let’s not pretend that Victor is guiltless,” she added.
Sally noted how Victor goaded and humiliated him. “He’s taken every opportunity to knock him down, so this shouldn’t have come as a surprise to anybody,” Sally told Adam.
That said, Sally said she made it clear that despite her objections, he went ahead with his revenge plans. Adam wondered how long she’d put up with Billy.
When Sally told Adam that her relationship was her business, he warned her to look out for herself, as anything and anyone tied to Billy was fair game, including her and Abbott Communications.
Nick And Billy’s Showdown

Billy was at home thinking about his argument with Sally when Nick walked through his door without knocking. He said he didn’t need an invitation as all rules had been thrown out the window once Billy decided to hurt his family.
Nick told Billy to go to hell. “Your father could tell me how to get there — if you could afford a map,” Billy quipped.
Nick threatened to knock Billy’s teeth out, but he told him that the hits had already landed and they had knocked him and the rest of his family on their butts, which was long overdue in Billy’s opinion.
Billy told Nick was an idiot who wouldn’t be able to print business cards after they were done with him. “That’s rich coming from a guy who’s been unemployed for… how long now?” Billy mocked.
Billy Sends Nick Away To Lick His Wounds

Nick promised a big comeback, but Billy always went down. He blasted Billy for wanting more in life, asking why it wasn’t enough to make him happy with what he had.
“Why’s it okay for the Newmans?” Billy shot back, “To take whatever they want and then get all huffy and puffy and self-righteous when the people that they screwed over turn it around on them?”
Nick belittled Billy for being righting a wrong, but Billy wasn’t ashamed of getting the upper hand for once. “It feels good,” he said confidently.
Nick tried using Billy’s relationship with Jill against him, but Billy wasn’t having it. He said the Newmans were sore losers who acted like they had a magic wand to change things, but this time they didn’t.
Nick told Billy that he just reminded him why he always loses, and he’ll screw up again one day and lose it all.
Nick Turned His Focus On Phyllis

Nick asked where Phyllis was, but Billy didn’t know and didn’t care. He said he and Phyllis weren’t partners and whatever she did with Newman was none of his business.
“So she just handed you Chancellor, out of the goodness of her heart?” Nick asked. Billy pointed out that he was rooting for her to succeed. Nick was sure there was more to it than that, but Billy told him to believe what he wanted.
Billy told Nick to leave before he called animal control and told them there was a one-legged dog that wouldn’t stop barking.
Sally Comes Home to Move Out

Just then, Sally came home. “You are wasting your life with this punk. Cut him loose before he drags you down with him,” Nick told her.
After Nick left, Billy wanted to work things out, but Sally was just there to pack her things. She said he was still lying and wanted to prove to everyone he was not a loser, whereas she loved him when he didn’t feel good about himself.
Billy said what was wrong about having his dreams, as she had them, too. He noted that the only difference was that his were coming true at the moment.
Sally told Billy that when his dreams came true, he was blinded by them, and she became invisible. “It’s over. We’re done,” Sally said.
Billy pleaded with Sally not to go and told her that he loved her. “You kept telling me that you wanted it all, but for me, you were always enough. I’m really sorry I couldn’t be that for you,” she cried.
Victor Swears Vengeance

Adam returned to the ranch and told Nikki and Victor what Sally had told him about Newman Media. He said it had been given to Billy, who gave it to Sally to run so he could focus on Chancellor.
Victor accused Nikki and Adam of blaming him for what happened, but then yelled that he never loses and he would crush them. “All of them!” he hollered.
Chelsea Advises Sharon

Chelsea told Sharon she was surprised to see her when she came into Crimson Lights. Sharon admitted that it had been a challenge to help Mariah as she kept pushing people away. She said Mariah alternated between staring out the window or crying in Sharon’s arms.
Chelsea told Sharon it would take time, but promised she would get there. Sharon appreciated the support.
They talked about Victor and Phyllis. Sharon admitted they’d made up but Phyllis did things she didn’t agree with. Chelsea thought if Phyllis lost everything, including her family, she’d deserve it.
Behind them, Nick stumbled in and leaned heavily on the counter on the patio. He winced in pain, then struggled to walk to their table. There, he took a seat and asked for some water.
Sharon Thinks Nick Is Hangry

Nick said he wasn’t in pain; he was just frustrated that he hadn’t been able to track down Phyllis. Chelsea wondered if the Martin experience drove Phyllis to do this, but Nick said it was selfishness.
As Nick ranted about Phyllis, he swore he’d make her pay for the rest of her life and threw his water bottle, making Chelsea and Sharon gasp.
Chelsea understood Nick’s frustration. She got a call from Connor and left to take it.
Once alone, Nick apologized for his outburst but still denied being in pain. Sharon insisted that he eat something, but he didn’t want to, he just wanted to track down Phyllis.
When Sharon left to make tea, he pulled out his prescription bottle, but it was empty. He reached in his pocket and took out the bag of fentanyl instead.
