The Young and the Restless Recap Dec 8: Matt and Annie plot, Phyllis admits her guilt to Cane
In The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, December 8th, 2025, Phyllis finally admitted the truth to Cane, and got his swift reaction of wrath. Meanwhile, Matt assessed the situation he was in, and Sienna got a dose of what it’s like to be an enemy of the Newmans.
The Young and the Restless Recap

At the GCAC bar, Jack and Diane were having a drink and talking about their plan to shut down Jabot when Cane came in. Jack mocked him for having Arabesque shut down by Victor.
Cane said that he didn’t mind, as it was a good wake-up call for what was important. Diane scoffed at him that they wouldn’t believe he was fine with losing everything he’d built. Cane compared it to Diane’s own comeuppance about having a relationship with her son over greed. Diane was offended at that comparison.
Cane reminded them that he came to them immediately when he thought it was stolen. Cane offered his help to prevent any attack from Victor, but they rebuffed it. Cane said for what it was worth, he wasn’t the enemy, and he never was. “We are well aware who the enemy is, thank you very much,” Jack sneered.
At the jazz club, Phyllis was having a drink at the bar when Adam came in and sat next to her. Phyllis asked Adam to tell Victor not to go overboard with Jabot, as she wanted to take over but didn’t want it to be a shell of a company when she did.
Adam revealed the plan was to launch the attack the next night during the Abbott Communications party. Phyllis noted she wasn’t planning to attend. “Now I have to go so I can watch Billy’s head explode,” she said. Adam agreed.
Phyllis told Adam how suspicious Cane was that she took the software, but said she wasn’t tempted to tell him the truth. She warned Adam, however, not to underestimate Cane.
Phyllis asked why Adam had his knife ready for Jack’s back but he said he had his reasons. Just then, Cane joined them and asked what they could possibly have to talk about. “You,” Phyllis said simply.
Adam and Phyllis bickered as she accused Victor of stealing Cane’s software. When Adam went to leave, he told Phyllis to consider his proposal. Cane told Phyllis he didn’t believe their argument was real, or that she was defending him. He asked what the proposal was about.
Cane seethed that Phyllis was lying to him, and he said that he knew she had stolen the software. He said he knew when he told her he didn’t want to use it to destroy everyone, that she’d flipped. Phyllis asked if he could blame her, since he dropped her the second Lily hinted she wanted him back.
Cane said it was never about a connection between them for Phyllis, and she stabbed him in the back…and now he was going to make her pay. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Phyllis asked.
Cane told Phyllis that he knew about her deal with Victor. He said he would destroy any chance she had of taking over Jabot, and anything she tried to do after that. Pyllis said he would have done it anyway. “I guess we’ll never know,” Cane snapped.
Phyllis said he was using her the whole time, but Cane insisted that his offer to come clean and collaborate was sincere. However, now she was going to pay for not trusting him.
As Adam left the club, he ran into Jack and Diane. They exchanged pleasantries, but Adam was taken aback when Jack gave him a message to give Victor when he got back to town: “Better luck next time.”
In L.A., Sharon and Victor were relieved when Nick brought Noah and Sienna into the hotel room. Noah admitted that their kidnapping wouldn’t have happened if he’d just listened to their warning about Mitch being Matt. “Maybe you’ll listen to your parents next time,” Nick scolded.
Sienna tried to introduce herself to Victor, but he said he knew who she was. Victor demanded that she tell him where her husband was, but Sienna said she didn’t know. Sharon and Nick noted that disappearing was Matt’s specialty. But so was revenge. They knew no one was safe until Matt was found.
Victor revealed that he transferred Mitch’s assets to a Newman account. Sienna asked questions, but Victor told her it was none of her business. She pointed out that he was her husband, and if Mitch had nothing, where did that leave her?
Noah told Sienna that he would ensure her safety, and she needed to come to Genoa City with them. Noah and Sharon wanted to talk to Noah about that, so Victor took Sienna to the lobby even though she didn’t want to go with him and said she didn’t feel safe.
Sharon and Nick warned Noah that bringing Sienna to Genoa City was the same as rolling out a red carpet for Matt to follow. Noah said he welcomed it so he could pay him back for what he did. Nick asked him to think about the danger that he would be putting his siblings and family in.
Noah said he got it, but Matt was sick. He pointed out that they knew what it was like to need to protect someone they cared about. He didn’t care what they said; Sienna needed to come with him.
Sharon and Nick tried to persuade Noah to take some time and said he barely knew Sienna. Nick asked about Allie, but Noah said things weren’t going well for him in London and didn’t want to talk about it.
In the lobby, Sienna asked Victor how he had bankrupted Mitch. He told her that he decimated him with a click of a button, and that’s what happened when someone went after his family. Victor told her that everything, including the Shadow Room, was gone, and Mitch would probably be behind bars the next day.
Victor quizzed Sienna about her marriage and how she never saw red flags that Mitch was Matt. She told him she had no reason to wonder, and that he could be charming. Sienna noted that she did want to go with Noah but saw the looks on their faces at the suggestion.
Victor offered to pay Sienna to go away. He told her that the Shadow Room now belonged to Noah. Victor said Sienna was a magnet for trouble and wanted her to stay away from Noah. “Why, because I attracted Matt Clark into my life?” Sienna asked. Victor said it was proof enough for him.
Sienna told Victor that when she started distancing herself from Mitch, she made a promise to herself that no one would ever control her again. She said Noah could decide for himself what he wanted.
Victor and Sienna returned to the hotel room, and Noah anxiously asked Sienna if she was coming with him to Genoa City.
At the Shadow Room, Mitch poured himself multiple shots of tequila while making phone calls at the bar. He called his assistant, who confirmed his accounts were being bled dry, and then called Annie to find out if they were safe, what she did with Burrow, or if he needed to amp things up. When he hung up, he cursed Victor Newman.
Mitch tried to remove his wedding ring but couldn’t. He started to break down in tears, but poured more shots instead. Annie arrived and told him she and Burrow had fought, but she got away. They knew the police were after them, and thought that the Shadow Room was the last place either of them should be.
Mitch said that he’d lost everything but was going to find leverage against the Newmans. Annie asked how and he growled that he would use something that he would never see coming.
