The Abbott Communication party wrapped up, and Sally was happy with it, but Billy was worried about his family. Sally wanted to punch back, but Billy suggested they cover it like an unbiased news story. He was impressed that Sally’s instinct was to protect the family like she was an Abbott.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle wondered how Victor could have found out that they’d been making moves. Jack insisted that everyone they told was someone they could trust. He told Kyle and Diane they needed to be realistic: this could be the end.

The Abbotts discussed Victor and how he operates. Jack and Diane knew he never relied on one move only, and knew he would have something else planned for them; it was just a matter of what, when, and where.

Kyle and Diane said they’d do all the damage control that they could, but Jack wasn’t sure it would matter. They decided to do what they could in the morning, and did a toast to what was good: Abbott Communications.

At Crimson Lights, Daniel had a lot of questions about the state of Jabot and how that would affect Summer. He asked accusatively if his mom had a part of it. Phyllis claimed she had no idea what was going on and pointed out that she asked Jack, and he just turned and left without answering.

Daniel said it wasn’t surprising, as Jack probably couldn’t trust Phyllis enough to confide in her. He thought it was odd that Phyllis even asked Jack what was going on, since there was no love lost between her and the Abbotts. He asked what her real motive was for wanting Jabot to survive.

Phyllis tried to tell Daniel that her only concern was Summer, and that she and Jack had gone back a very long time, so her involvement with the Abbotts was only that. When he kept pressing her to admit more, Phyllis told Daniel he was a bully and that he wrecked a great evening. Once alone, Daniel muttered that Phyllis was definitely guilty.

At the Newman Ranch, Chelsea arrived and demanded to know why she hadn’t been told of the plan. Chelsea told Adam that as his partner at Newman Media, she should’ve known it was coming down and instead was left standing there, blindsided with Victoria, “like some idiot, not knowing what was going on. It was embarrassing!”

Victor told Chelsea all she had to do was withhold comment until she found out what was happening. Chelsea clapped back that she handled it right, but had a problem with how Victor and Adam treated her. Victor reminded her who was really in charge.

Victor said that he didn’t need to provide a source — he knew that Jabot was finished, they were merely shining a light on it. Chelsea could tell there was going to be more to the story, and asked if she’d be let in on it.

Chelsea told Adam how Jack just left in a hurry when the news broke, and that the launch was a success. Victor assured them that Billy’s success was short-lived and he’d be spending his time with Jack, watching everything they had go away.

Before leaving, Chelsea and Adam mentioned that Connor had a minor setback with his OCD but his doctor thought he’d be back on track soon. Moments later, Phyllis came to the ranch and wanted to know if Jabot was really tanking.

When Victor agreed that it seemed like Jabot was going under, Phyllis realized it was Victor’s plan from the beginning, and she was never going to have a company to run. Victor just sat, slightly smiling and staring at her blankly as Phyllis ranted about how she’d stolen the program to use as leverage against Jack, but instead, he was destroying him. She realized that Victor no longer had a need for her.

Billy arrived at the Abbott mansion and wondered if there was a mole. Diane called out Jack, and he admitted to Billy that he told Nikki the plan but insisted she didn’t want Victor using the AI app any more than they did.

Diane went off on Jack, insisting that Nikki told Victor, but Jack said he knew to his bones that she wouldn’t have betrayed him. Billy didn’t think it was wise of Jack to have told Nikki anything, but trusted his judgment. He told Diane that at this point, it didn’t matter how Victor found out. Billy thought Victor panicked and made a sudden move.

Billy said that this was their opportunity to take advantage of Victor’s sloppiness. He thought that most of the news out there was fake, and they could easily spin it to their advantage. Jack said even if they did, Victor would use the AI program against them eventually, and that needed to be stopped. Billy thought they should go to the source: Phyllis.

Diane didn’t think involving Phyllis was a good idea. But Billy told her that all they needed to do was offer her something big that she wanted, and she’d flip on Victor and help them, and Jack agreed.
