The Week That Was

Nikki’s Health Crisis Changed the Newman Family

Nikki’s health dominated the week as her mysterious vision problems finally led to surgery. After learning she needed an operation, Victor immediately put aside their differences and used every resource at his disposal to bring renowned surgeon Virginia Nottingham to Genoa City. Although the family continued urging Victor and Nikki to reconcile, the two remained emotionally guarded even while facing one of the biggest crises of their marriage.

The surgery itself appeared to go well, but there were still no guarantees that Nikki’s eyesight would return. As she recovered, Victor and his children rallied around her, though a new disagreement emerged when Nick questioned Victor’s decision to use Matt Clark as his eyes and ears around Cane. Even after Nikki regained consciousness, her future remained uncertain as the Newmans waited to learn whether the surgery had been successful.

Diane Turned the Tables on Dr. Markham

While Jack worked to rescue Diane, she quietly took control of the situation herself.

Knowing Dr. Laurence Markham had developed feelings for her, Diane convinced him they should share a romantic dinner together. While pretending to embrace her therapist’s affection, she stole his sedatives and later slipped them into his appetizers after Jack’s fake emergency message lured him away from the house.

Kyle successfully broke into the property, but before they could escape, Markham returned. Diane calmly served him the drugged food, talked him through his growing dizziness, and eventually rendered him unconscious. Together, she and Kyle secured the doctor’s keys, answered Patty’s frantic phone call, and finally escaped the nightmare that had kept Diane imprisoned for days.

Patty’s Obsession Ended in Bloodshed

Patty spent the week convinced Jack would eventually choose her over Diane. She demanded affection, insisted their marriage was forever, and repeatedly threatened Diane’s life whenever Jack rejected her advances.

After Diane and Kyle escaped, Jack believed the nightmare was finally over. Patty appeared to leave the mansion, allowing Jack to speak with Diane and celebrate her safe return.

Instead, Patty was waiting inside the Abbott mansion. As Jack relaxed with a drink, she professed her love one last time before kissing him and plunging a knife into his chest. Cradling him on the floor, Patty calmly spoke about the afterlife while Jack bled on the Abbott dining room floor, bringing one of the week’s biggest cliffhangers.

Billy’s Future Took an Unexpected Turn

Billy spent much of the week confronting Jill about years of feeling overlooked in favor of Cane. Although Jill refused to answer the question he wanted most—why she never truly believed in him—she admitted she secretly financed Abbott Communications because she still had faith in him.

Meanwhile, Cane continued trying to repair old relationships by offering Billy a senior executive position at Chancellor. Lily questioned whether bringing Billy aboard was wise, but ultimately allowed Cane to make the decision himself. Billy didn’t immediately accept the offer, though it represented the first genuine olive branch between the longtime rivals in years.

Scene Stealer of the Week

Patty Finally Goes Too Far

For weeks, Patty Williams insisted that she and Jack Abbott belonged together, but this week her fantasy turned deadly.

After Diane escaped Dr. Markham’s captivity and Jack believed the ordeal was finally over, he poured himself a well-earned drink and prepared to welcome his family home. Instead, Patty emerged from the shadows of the Abbott mansion one final time. Calmly declaring that Jack had never understood what real love looked like, she kissed him before driving a knife into his chest.

Rather than panic, Patty gently lowered Jack to the floor, cradled him in her arms, kissed his forehead, and spoke about the afterlife as blood spread across the Abbott dining room. It was a chilling performance that reminded viewers exactly why Patty remains one of Genoa City’s most dangerous villains—and delivered one of the show’s most shocking cliffhangers in years.

Next Week’s Cheat Sheet

Elsewhere, Nikki begins recovering from surgery as everyone waits to learn whether her eyesight has been saved. Victor’s attention remains divided between his family and his growing campaign against Cane, while Nick continues questioning whether Matt can really be trusted.
