The Spencer Family Tree on The Bold and the Beautiful Explained

Wyatt Spencer is back on The Bold and the Beautiful to help Bill reclaim the Hope Diamond for Katie’s new fashion house, Logan, just as the Spencer family is suddenly front and center again.

Aside from the ongoing barbs between Ridge and Bill (and now RJ and Will), it can be easy to forget just how deeply this family is tied into the B&B fabric.

Between Bill’s endless battles with Ridge, Liam’s complicated history with Hope, Steffy, and Ivy, and Wyatt also having his own history with them, the Spencer family tree has become one of the most connected dynasties in Los Angeles, right up there with the Forresters.

It All Started With Bill Spencer Sr.

Before Dollar Bill (Don Diamont) became one of the most powerful men in Los Angeles, the Spencer empire started with Bill Spencer Sr. (Jim Storm), founder of Spencer Publications.

Bill Spencer, Sr. had three children:

• Caroline Spencer
• Karen Spencer
• Bill Spencer Jr.

And from there, the family’s connections to the Forresters only grew.

Caroline Spencer Was the Family’s First Major Forrester Connection

Longtime viewers remember Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson) as one of the show’s early heroines thanks to her relationship with Ridge Forrester (then-Ronn Moss, now Thorsten Kaye).

After Caroline’s death, her twin sister Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson) later entered the picture, keeping the Spencer name tied to the canvas.

Karen eventually had a daughter of her own:

• Caroline Spencer II 

That branch of the family later connected back to the Forresters through Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and their son, Douglas (Henry Samiri).

Then Came Dollar Bill

The Spencer family became a true powerhouse once Bill Spencer Jr. took over the family business. Over the years, he’s built a family that’s now connected to the Logans and Forresters through his three sons:

• Liam Spencer
• Wyatt Spencer
• Will Spencer

Each son has a different mother, which has only added to the family complications over the years. Liam found his father after his mother, Kelly Hopkins, died of cancer. Wyatt’s mom is Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer), and Will is the son of Bill and Katie Logan. 

Liam Spencer Connected the Family to Both Hope and Steffy

Liam (Scott Clifton) became one of the central figures in B&B history thanks to his years-long back-and-forth between Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

He’s now the father of:

• Kelly Spencer with Steffy
• Beth Spencer with Hope

Which means the Spencer bloodline is permanently tied to two of the show’s biggest legacy families.

Wyatt Spencer Just Got Pulled Back Into the Family Drama

Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) may have stepped away from Los Angeles for a while, but his return helps boost the prominence of the Spencer family in Los Angeles.

Now, with Bill targeting the Hope Diamond as part of his latest battle with the Forresters, Wyatt is once again right in the middle of Spencer family business.

Over the years, Wyatt has also had his own complicated romantic history — also involving Hope, Steffy, and, like Liam, Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

Will Spencer Represents the Next Generation

As the son of Bill Spencer and Katie Logan (Heather Tom), Will (Crew Morrow) links the Spencer family directly to the Logans by birthright.

Now that the character has been aged up into younger storylines, he’s becoming a bigger presence on the canvas just as another major Spencer family conflict is heating up.

Following in Spencer tradition, is in love with his on-again-off-again soulmate, Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace). Not following in Spencer tradition, however, Will is willingly working for Ridge…and likes him.
