INTERVIEW: The Young and the Restless' Michael Damian

Michael Damian on his new single, an upcoming album, and the Y&R wedding 35 years in the making

Fans of The Young and the Restless were in for a treat when Michael Damian shared his new single on a special Y&R episode recently — and now the song is climbing the charts. Damian spoke with The Soap Scene today about his upcoming album and a special event coming this month in Genoa City.

Michael Damian’s New Single

Michael Damian’s new single, “Let Me Into Your Heart,” from Virgin Music is another one of the international superstar’s hits. After less than two weeks since its release, it’s already at #29 on Mediabase, the Adult Contemporary Music Chart.

The Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and actor’s single was written and produced by Grammy Award-winning hitmakers (and brothers) Larry Weir and Tom Weir. Both an uptempo pop version and an acoustic one of the song have been released so far, following Damian's acoustic performance on The Young and the Restless on October 20.

Damian is currently in the studio, creating a soon-to-be-released dance version of “Let Me Into Your Heart” for contemporary radio.

The Upcoming Album

Damian told The Soap Scene that “Let Me Into Your Heart” is the first release from an album he’s been working on for about a year now. Set to release in early 2026, more singles will soon be released — though Y&R fans will have to wait and see whether any of the new music makes it onto the show.

Damian performed “Let Me Into Your Heart” in an episode of The Young and the Restless last month. At a combined bachelor and bachelorette party for Damian’s iconic character, Danny Romalotti and his bride-to-be, Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), Danny serenaded his fiancée at the piano.

In a Y&R first, and to fans’ delight (and Damian’s), co-star Bell sang along with him. The rest of the cast also chimed in on the chorus, sparking fans to want more. Questions rolled in, asking if they could expect another musical performance at the nuptials, especially with Patty Weaver returning as Gina Roma (Danny’s sister and singing partner years ago) as a wedding guest.

The Y&R Wedding of the Year…or, Decade…Possibly, the Century

Get your DVRs ready, Danny and Cricket fans, as the wedding is happening this month! After 35 years, die-hard fans are getting their wish, and the couple will wed in an episode (or two) that will include most of the cast, along with fan faves Weaver, and Tricia Cast as Cricket’s best friend, Nina Webster.

Damian says it will be a “nostalgic reconnect” for viewers in the double-episode wedding, which was “one of the longest days of shooting” Damian says he’s had in a long time.

What can viewers expect? Well, first set your DVRs for November 21st and 24th for the wedding episodes. While he can’t say exactly what will happen, Damian teased that fans might be treated to a musical surprise.

Although Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has promised Danny that she wants the best for him, will her deal with Victor have blown up by then? If so, gloves might be off when it comes to letting Christine be happy — despite the raw conversation Phyllis had with Danny the night of the bachelor party.

Damian says the couple will be back in Genoa City after their honeymoon, and there is plenty on the horizon. On the October 20th episode, Danny had mentioned to music producer Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that they should collaborate soon, and there is always the chance he’ll visit other towns in CBS soap crossovers while Danny is on tour. Both James and Damian did crossovers this year to Beyond the Gates and The Bold and the Beautiful, respectively.

For now, fans can enjoy the single “Let Me Into Your Heart” (and call their favorite radio stations to request it), while they look forward to the full album drop in the coming months.
