The Bold and the Beautiful Recap
In the design office, Eric asked Ridge to work with him on the new couture line. Eric was excited and ready to get to work, but Ridge didn’t agree. He told his dad that he wasn’t ready and that Eric didn’t want to be back in the trenches again.
Eric told Ridge that he hadn’t put a pencil down since he left the company. “I’m a designer. I’m an artist!” Eric implored him. Ridge told Eric to go off into the sunset. Eric yelled at him that he wasn’t in his shoes and had no idea how it made him feel to have to ask and be rejected.
Ridge reminded his dad what the day-to-day was like at the office, and that he’d asked him to do it, and he was doing it well so Eric didn’t have to. When Eric pleaded, Ridge yelled at him that he was doing the job now, and Eric wasn’t needed.
In the runway room, Donna told Brooke that she hoped Ridge would consider Eric’s request, but Brooke didn’t seem too sure that would happen, even when Donna considered it a sign of respecting the founder of the company.
Brooke told Donna that Ridge respected the legacy he had inherited, but Donna corrected her that he didn’t inherit anything, as Eric was still there. Brooke shrugged that it had nothing to do with her and was Ridge’s decision.
Deke came to see his dad at work and told him and Sheila about his new job and how he was trying to carve his own way with designing while trying to keep the tone of the line. Deacon was encouraging but had to leave for his appointment with Taylor, leaving Deke with Sheila.
Deke and Sheila talked about whether or not people can change. Sheila said she’d love to be accepted and embraced by Deke and Hope, as they were all a family with Deacon.
Brooke and Ridge reconvened in the runway room and shared their conversations with Eric and Donna. Ridge said it was over, his dad had his swan song, but he had to accept that it was time to hang it up. Brooke hoped Ridge didn’t tell Eric that they’d planned a retirement party for him.
Outside the CEO’s office, Eric watched the foyer abuzz with activity. He thought to himself, “Out with the old, in with the new. The company I built with my own two hands…time for me to leave? I don’t want to leave,” he thought sadly as he sat at the CEO desk chair and opened a drawer. He took out a photo of him and Stephanie that was in it. When he turned, he saw the new generation’s pictures on the desk instead.
Deacon got to Taylor’s office early, and she was happy to see him. He updated her on how he spent Thanksgiving and the tension between his kids and Sheila. He could understand why, though, Deacon just hoped they could figure it out before Hope’s wedding.
