General Hospital Recap May 5: Ethan’s Shocking Connection to Delilah, Ric Fails Sonny’s Test, Jordan Goes Home

TL;DR: In today’s General Hospital recap, Ric fails Sonny’s loyalty test. Laura questions the investigation into the car accident. Brook Lynn and Chase move forward with Phoebe’s adoption, which leads to a stunning reveal connecting Phoebe’s mom, Delilah Wilson, to Ethan.

General Hospital Recap May 5

While Chase was at the boat house with Phoebe, Brook Lynn went to see Tracy. She was worried that the police would question her after learning from Curtis that they had car paint from the guardrail.

Tracy thought they had another suspect and told her to let it go, but Brook Lynn was torn. She couldn’t turn herself in, but also couldn’t live with someone else taking the blame.

Laura Queries Justine’s Investigation

Laura summoned Justine and asked about the status of the car accident case. She told her they were following up on a lead on a potential suspect and were getting a warrant for their vehicle.

Laura shared that Curtis told her he suspected Isaiah, so Jordan told her the evidence. She told Justine that she suspected Curtis was biased and holding a grudge, and it was clouding his judgment.

Justine assured Laura she wasn’t interested in a witch hunt, and it was very preliminary. Laura was relieved, noting that Isaiah saved her daughter’s life and hoped it wasn’t him.

Justine asked if that meant she wanted her to bury the invegestigation, Laura said no. “If Dr. Gannon knowingly left the scene of an accident, then I would want him held accountable,” she said.

Just then, Justine got a text from a blocked number, saying, “Meet me at the studio.”

Ethan Reports To Sonny

Ethan went to the pier and called Deliliah, saying he was there again, but she was not. He said that he’d been calling her over and over and messaging, but she wasn’t calling back, noting that he couldn’t help her if she didn’t get back to him.

Sonny showed up to meet him, and Ethan reported that Ric left Sonny’s and went straight to see Ava at Metro Court. After that, Ava cozied up to Sidwell, and it seemed he was using her to relay a message while Lucy was there.

Sonny told Ethan that the only problem was that he didn’t like Ric and didn’t know how to trust his account.

Brook Lynn And Chase Talk Adoption

Brook Lynn went to the boathouse and admitted to Chase that she wanted to adopt Phoebe. He was relieved because he felt the same way.

Brook Lynn told Chase that she had talked to Alexis, and her advice was to do a search for Phoebe’s family and a background check on themselves.

They both had concerns about what info would be used against them, but Chase encouraged Brook Lynn to pull out all the Q stops they needed to, and they had a Congresswoman on their side.

Jordan Goes Home

Elizabeth was preparing for Jordan’s release when Ric came in with flowers and asked her to go away with him for the weekend.

Elizabeth happily accepted, but reminded him of their rule against bringing more flowers to work. She got him to give them to a patient instead.

When Ric left, she kissed him goodbye, then brought Jordan her release papers. As she was going over how to care for her wounds, Jordan asked Curtis to get the car, but he wanted to listen so he could help. Jordan agreed, but she seemed upset as Elizabeth talked about her injuries.

Jordan brought her flowers from Brick home with her. She recalled how happy she was the night she was there last. Looking around, everything looked exactly how it was, and nothing had changed, except for her, she said.

Jordan lamented not keeping her eyes on the road and wished she could go back in time to that one moment that would change everything.

Ric Fails Sonny’s Test

Sonny asked Ric to meet him at the pier. When Ric assured him he would beat Sidwell because he was smarter than him, Sonny suspiciously noted that he was singing a different tune the day before.

Sonny told Ric that he wanted him to test Ethan, so he did, and he passed. Ric said if that was the case, he’d accept him. Sonny asked where Ric bolted off to the day before, and he told him to the D.A.’s office for an unrelated case.

When Ric told Sonny he’d never hold anything back from him, Sonny shook his head in disappointment.

Later at the studio, Sonny met with Justine and told her that it wasn’t a booty call. He wanted to know whether Ric had actually had a meeting with someone in her office the day before.

Justine called and confirmed that no one had a meeting with Ric. Sonny thanked her and told her that he worried Ric wasn’t being honest with him, still hated him, and wanted to finish what he started long ago.

Laura Worries About Elizabeth

Elizabeth dropped by Laura’s and asked her to keep an eye on Aidan while she and Ric went away for the weekend. Laura was happy to spend time with him, but suggested that going away with Ric was too big a step for Elizabeth’s relationship.

Laura worried about Ric working for Sonny, but Elizabeth said she and Ric had talked about it, and a lot had changed. She said in the past he was ruthlessly angry at Sonny, but they were getting along now, and he was peaceful about it.

Ethan At Q Mansion

Ethan came to see Tracy, as she wanted to ask how it was going working for Sonny. He told her so far, so good, but she told him to quit. She said he had a better opportunity.

“Michael needs a man in Australia,” Tracy told him. She said his cousin needed someone to scout areas for wellness — and she needed him away from Sonny.

Ethan said he’d been taking care of himself for a long time, and he would be fine. Tracy asked him why he was actually there, and he admitted he was supposed to meet up with someone.

Ethan said he was working a job with a partner and was supposed to meet up with her in Port Charles, but she hadn’t shown up yet. He said he picked Port Charles because he thought he could catch up with some people while in town. Tracy asked him again to consider taking Michael’s offer.

Brook Lynn and Chase came in with Phoebe and greeted Ethan. Tracy had to run out, something to do with Hades, so he was just finishing his tea before going.

When Ethan thought Phoebe was their daughter, they told him the story of how they became her foster parents. When they said that the only thing they knew about Phoebe’s mom was her name, Delilah Wilson, Ethan tried to hide his shock.
