General Hospital Recap May 22: Jack Brennan Speaks, Britt and Rocco Run Away
TL;DR: In today’s General Hospital recap, Britt locks Elizabeth in a closet before fleeing town with Rocco, who convinced her to take him along. Elsewhere, Laura gives Lulu her blessing to leave, and Nathan pressures Dante to choose his family over his career.
General Hospital Recap May 22

Kristina went with Molly to the hospital for her scan, which went well. They talked about Cody and how well he treated her, and how much she liked him.
The two sisters bonded as Molly thanked Kristina for a much-needed push to let her walls down and let Cody in.
Willow Shares Good News

Willow met with Felicia and told her that she called in some favors and pulled some strings, and managed to have Anna returned to the clinic rather than the high-security facility she was being sent to.
Felicia was so relieved and couldn’t wait to tell everyone, but Willow had more news: she also pushed for all charges to be dropped. She said that it wouldn’t happen overnight, but as soon as she was medically cleared, Anna could come home.
Lulu Says Goodbye to Laura

At the park, Lulu told Ethan that Dante was going to put 24/7 surveillance on her, so she needed to get Rocco out of town now. They were interrupted when Laura called and said that she wanted to see Lulu immediately and wasn’t going to take no for an answer. Laura came to the park and told her Dante told her she planned to leave town with Rocco.
Lulu assumed her mom was there to talk her out of it, but she surprisingly said she had her blessing. Laura promised to take care of Charlotte and asked Ethan to keep them safe.
Laura was amazed when Ethan responded exactly how Luke would have. She hugged Lulu and told her she didn’t need to explain anything. “I lived this,” she said.
When Ethan and Lulu got back to her house, she couldn’t find Rocco. She saw the detergent he’d gone to get, so she knew he’d returned from the store — but then she noticed the missing passport.
Nathan Advises Dante To Act

At the PCPD, Dante and Nathan argued about Rocco. Nathan said he would help them get out of town and keep them safe if Dante didn’t. He warned that Cullum was coming and they were targets.
Eventually, Dante calmed down, and they talked about what to do, but he was suspicious as to how Nathan knew so much about Cullum. Nathan told Dante that he could take care of everything by placing one call to his dad, who could get Lulu and Rocco somewhere safe.
Dante said he was the acting commissioner of the PCPD and if he lifted one finger to help his son go on the run, he’d flush everything he’d worked and stood for.
Nathan told Dante he already crossed that line by destroying pier evidence. “So the question becomes: what’s more important to you? Losing your job? Or mourning your son?” Nathan asked.
Dante thought about it and, once alone, was about to call Sonny, but a call came in from Lulu. She told him that the fake passport under the name Tyler Anderson was gone, and his last pinged location was the hospital. Dante told her to stay there in case Rocco came back, and he would go find him.
Laura Tells Sonny

Ric told Sonny that his weekend away with Elizabeth, and that the art piece he’d gotten for her garnered the reaction he’d hoped for. Sonny told Ric that Sidwell had been making moves and it was time to stop him.
Laura arrived and thanked Ric before he left, saying she was grateful for the help he had given Rocco. Once alone, she told Sonny they wouldn’t see their grandson for a while.
Laura told Sonny that she thought Rocco was in serious trouble and it had to do with Sidwell and Dalton. She thought they needed to put it behind them once and for all for his sake, and Sonny agreed.
Jack’s A Popular Guy

In Jack’s hospital room, Cullum told Brennan that his prognosis wasn’t hopeful. He said he was lucky that he’d been incapacitated since the alternative was Steinmauer. Cullum promised to take care of him by shipping him off to Turning Woods, where he could rot away in peace.
Down the hall, Willow warned Nina that showing up yet again to visit Brennan was a red flag that would bring them both down. Nina thought it made sense since everyone knew that she was with him when he collapsed.
Nina went to Brennan’s room anyway with a houseplant in hand, and told him that she brought it to brighten up his room. She jumped when Cullum spoke behind her, questioning why she was there again.
Nina turned on the near-tears and told Cullum that she felt bad for him being alone and resented Carly, and said she wouldn’t be shamed for having compassion. She asked him to leave so she could visit him alone.
After Cullum left, Nina asked Brennan if he was threatening him and told Jack to blink once for yes and twice for no. “Takes…too…long,” Jack growled.
Nina cried that she didn’t expect him to be talking so soon. “I’m glad you’re okay. It’s nice to hear your voice,” she sobbed. Nina reached in her purse and pulled out the needle but put it in the dispensary on the counter instead of injecting him.
Rocco Convinces Britt To Take Him With Her

At the hospital, Rocco went to see Britt. She told him he was in danger of Cullum finding out he was the shooter, and he needed to convince his parents to get him out of town.
Rocco showed Britt his new passport and said that he would rather run away with her. He told her he’d overheard Lulu talking about not actually wanting to go, and that he wanted his family to be safe.
Britt told Rocco that she didn’t want him to watch her die. But Rocco said she brought him into the world and he did want to be there when she left it. Britt told Rocco no several times but finally relented on one condition: when she died, he had to contact his parents.
Britt Attacks Elizabeth

Elizabeth knocked on the door and wanted to know what was going on, so Britt told Rocco to meet her at her car. Liz came in and questioned Rocco being there, but he saw an opportunity to leave and did.
Elizabeth then hounded Britt with questions, so Britt told Liz to back off. While her back was turned, Elizabeth picked up the passport on Britt’s desk and opened it.
Elizabeth asked why she had a fake passport for Rocco. Threatening to go tell someone, Britt whipped Elizabeth’s arm behind her back and told her she wasn’t going anywhere.
Out at the parking lot, Britt confirmed with Rocco that no one saw him leave. Before joining Rocco in the car, she called Sonny and told him that Sidwell killed Dalton, and that Pascal helped him cover it up. She hoped it was useful information to him.
Britt hung up and looked at Rocco waiting for her. She asked him again if he was sure this was what he wanted to do, and Rocco was adamant that he was.
Britt asked for his phone and then smashed both his and hers on the ground and then drove over them as she drove them away.
Meanwhile, Back Inside

Cullum approached Willow and Felicia and introduced himself to Willow. Felicia asked what he wanted, and they were surprised to hear he was looking for Rocco.
Down the hall, Dante burst into Britt’s office and heard Elizabeth calling for help from the closet. He moved the chair that was preventing the door from opening and found her holding the back of her head. “What happened?” he asked. “Britt happened,” Elizabeth said. She told him that Britt had a fake passport for Rocco and the two of them were running away together.
