General Hospital Recap July 20

Brennan left when Nina hid under the covers after waking up in his bed. He got showered and ready for work, but Nina’s head was pounding from the whiskey. They had a flashback to coming back to his place together and going to bed together.
Nina hoped that Jack would still help them with the black box, and his face fell. He told her that she didn’t have to sleep with him to get it, he already promised he’d help.
Nina was instantly fired up, saying she wouldn’t prostitute herself. Jack clapped back that they both knew how desperate she was to save her daughter. Nina asked why he’d sleep with her if he thought she was just playing him.
“I needed to know how far you’d take it,” Jack shrugged. Nina told him he was a disgusting pig, and said she knew now why Carly dumped him. Grabbing her clothes, she stormed off to the bathroom, leaving Jack looking stung.
When Nina returned, Jack told her that he was acting defensive, but should have said that he greatly enjoyed their evening. He asked if they could do it again some time, and Nina melted.
However, Nina told Brennan that it would just complicate their alliance if they took things any further. He agreed it made sense. Nina left, but paused outside his door before walking away.
Laura Helps Ezra Make a Deal

Ezra tried to get Laura’s attention through the window of the interrogation room at the PCPD, but she was being questioned by Justine. Joe came up behind him and said it looked like the mayor wouldn’t be able to help him.
As Laura told Justine how she, Lucas, and Sonny plotted to expose Sidwell, Joe questioned Ezra at his desk about aiding and abetting a known fugitive. He asked how long Sidwell and Ezra were working together.
Ezra deflected the question that he had saved Joe’s life, but just then, Laura and Justine walked up. Ezra grabbed Laura and brought her back into the interrogation room. He asked her to help him avoid arrest.
Laura explained they needed people to testify against Sidwell. She suggested he strike a deal with DA if he could offer evidence against him. Laura wouldn’t lie for Ezra but said if he testified against Sidwell, she’d advocate for him.
When Molly came in, Laura suggested she listen to what Ezra had to offer in return for a plea deal. She added that although he’d be implicating himself, she’d seen Sidwell threaten him on more than one occasion. Before leaving, she mouthed to Ezra to tell the truth.
When they emerged from the room, Molly told Laura and Joe that if his evidence checked out, Ezra would have immunity. Laura hugged him in relief.
Tracy Agrees to Scout’s Request

Willow tracked down Tracy at the barn because Scout wanted to talk to her. Alone together, Tracy told Scout that her opinions of Willow and Drew were no reflection on her. Scout was happy to hear it because she wanted to ask if she could spend more time there this summer.
Brook Lynn came in as Scout asked if she could use the lake to train for a charity swim she was doing. Although they agreed it was for a worthy cause, Tracy asked what the catch was.
Scout told Tracy that she knew Drew had been banned from the estate, but she was really hoping he could watch her swim. Since he had taught her, she said it would be important to both of them. Tracy relented, but only to watch her swim, she said.
Chase Turns Willow Down

Brook Lynn and Chase had a happy morning together before work. After Brook Lynn left, Willow walked in. She explained why she was there, noting that Willow threatened her with a riding crop. Chase apologized on Tracy’s behalf, adding how gracious Willow had been about dropping the charges against her when she pushed her in the lake.
Willow surprised Chase by asking if he could take a trip to DC with her. She was voting on a bill about police practices, and she didn’t trust the lobbyists. Chase said he was flattered but had to decline.
Chase explained that he needed to make his family the priority; Willow asked if she should keep her distance. Chase promised he would be there for Willow if she ever needed him. “Say no more and I totally respect your decision,” Willow said. They gazed at one another as she told Chase she just wanted him to be happy.
Lulu Tells Sonny and Ric the Truth

Lulu came to Sonny’s to meet with him and Ric and told them that Rocco could be in serious trouble. After Ric assured her that anything she said would be confidential, Lulu shared that Rocco shot Cullum, not Jason.
Lulu explained that more and more people were finding out. Sonny asked Ric how bad it was for Rocco. Ric told Lulu that if all parties kept quiet and there was a lack of evidence, then Rocco was pretty much in the clear.
Afterward, Lulu complained that Valentin was back, and Sonny agreed he wanted him away, too. Ric couldn’t believe it when he found out that Carly and Valentin were a couple. Sonny fumed he’d get rid of Valentin.
Lulu warned she didn’t want anything to happen to him. Sonny clarified that if all went as planned, Valentin would make the wise decision to leave Port Charles on his own.
Charlotte Surprises Carly

Charlotte showed up at Carly’s with suitcases and asked if she could move in. Carly tried to talk to her about Lulu, noting that whatever she was doing was out of love. Charlotte was furious that Lulu wanted to keep her and Valentin separated, and said if one of her parents was going to be cut out of her life, it would be Lulu.
Carly understood but said the rough patch wouldn’t last forever. Charlotte said she’d always choose her dad over her mom, and Lulu knew it. She said the only one who really understood was Danny but he was on some trip with his dad. “What are you talking about?” Carly asked.
“You didn’t hear? Jason’s back,” Charlotte said. She shared how Danny texted her and sent a photo. Carly was hurt that Jason didn’t tell her but agreed he looked happy. Charlotte thought it was cool that Jason and Danny got to spend some one-on-one time together. She lamented she didn’t get to do that with Valentin because Lulu wouldn’t allow it.
Carly advised Charlotte to work things out with Lulu and Valentin so they could see one another. She pointed out he wasn’t leaving town, so there was plenty of time to figure it out.
Brick Warns Valentin to Leave Port Charles

Valentin was throwing some hoops when Brick showed up and told him he was there to help him. He gave him some basketball tips and advice on using the WSB’s gift of freedom to move on to somewhere else. Valentin asked Brick if Sonny sent him.
Brick said Sonny was a dear friend, and Valentin knew who he was. Brick said he was familiar with Valentin’s dossier and that Carly was a dear friend, too. He didn’t care if it was Valentin’s past or not, he knew he had enemies. For the sake of Carly and Charlotte, he said again that Valentin should leave town.
Brick told Valentin that he had a pattern of everything going well, then he needed to feel the rush. And that’s when he’d put his loved ones in danger. Valentin said he had two incentives to change: Charlotte and Carly. Since both lived in Port Charles, he wasn’t leaving town.
Brick warned Valentin that Sonny was also a devoted father, and if he put Donna in danger, he’d be coming after him.
Valentin thanked Brick for the advice, but said he wasn’t leaving. He told Brick that he knew Sonny was used to getting what he wanted, but he’d have to take the loss on this one. “I don’t think so,” Brick told him as he walked away.
