General Hospital Recap July 1

Gio and Sonny continued to talk about whether or not he should stay at the Q mansion until the threat of Sidwell was over, but Gio refused. He said he wasn’t afraid of Sidwell and that he would never turn his back on Sonny after how he was there for him when he needed.
Sonny appreciated it but said that Morgan was Gio’s age when he lost him. He said the pain from that brings him to his knees and the only reason he gets up in the morning is that he has other kids and grandkids to live for.
Sonny said he wasn’t telling him to leave, but he was asking him to go. After confirming that it would only be temporary, Gio agreed to go.
Nina Saves Brennan

Realizing Jack wasn’t breathing, Nina performed CPR and revived him. He told her to turn off the canister as it was carbon monoxide. Brennan asked Nina to get the restraints off of him that were tying down his arms.
Nina balked and yelled that she wasn’t doing anything else until he told her what was going on. After he did, Nina said she was paying for a room for Jack to be moved to using an alias to keep him safe, so Cullum would think that he died.
Sidwell Takes the Gallery Hostage

At the gallery, Sidwell took Ethan’s gun and told Ava he was there to take her as his traveling companion, but given her contempt, he changed his mind and decided on Justine instead. When he told Ava that made her useless to him, he went to shoot her, so Ethan dove in front of her and Justine pushed Sidwell’s arm so he would miss.
Ethan got Ava into the storeroom, and they barricaded the door. Then, Ava realized that Ethan had been shot. She looked at the wound but was unimpressed. “He shot you in the ass?” she asked, as if he chose a lame spot himself.
Ava and Ethan realized they didn’t have their phones, and they had to stay in there until it was safe. She performed first aid but complained about having to use expensive canvas and how it would be for her and her gallery if he died there.
Ethan couldn’t believe the lack of sympathy or gratitude, but Ava said he wouldn’t have been shot had he just stayed where he was. Ava asked why he took the bullet for her, and all Ethan could say was it was instinct.
Meanwhile, Sidwell got Justine to call Sonny and put it on speaker. He told Sonny that he hadn’t done anything to Justine — yet. Sonny came right over, walking in with his hands up and assuring Sidwell that he didn’t have a gun.
Cassius Says Goodbye to James

At the ball park, Cody heard Felicia’s message and then returned to James and suggested that he stay with James at the park and “Nathan” should leave to get ice cream. Cody said that he’d just heard something and it sounded like his dad would have to go.
Catching the hint, “Nathan” knelt down and told James that he’d made a mistake that he didn’t think he could fix and he had to go away again. James was upset and asked to go with him.
“Nathan” told James that after he was gone, he would hear things about him. Some of them won’t be very nice, and some of it would be true. But if anyone ever tells you that he doesn’t love James, that was a lie. “I love you more than I knew I could,” he said before hugging him goodbye.
Cody and James talked to Felicia on the phone. She told James that everything would be okay and they’d get it all sorted out when she got home. While talking to Cody, Felicia was struck that Anna was right.
Cassius went to his car. He took a look at the photos in his wallet of him and James in a photo booth. Cassius folded them up with the cash he had, put them in his pocket. He took out a Canadian passport with his name changed to Oliver Brown, threw the wallet out the window, and drove away in a car with Ontario plates.
Joe Learns the Truth

At the hospital, Joe didn’t want to wait for stitches or a CT scan; he wanted to get out there and search. Lucas told him that if he tried to leave the room again, he’d call security. “I am security,” Joe told him.
Eventually, Joe made it to the phone at the nurses’ station and was able to call it in. Amy, Lucas, and Carly overheard him report that they needed an APB on Nathan West as he wasn’t who he said he was and that he assaulted Joe. Also, he told the station that Sidwell was still in town, and they had to pick up Ezra for good measure. Joe collapsed after his call, and Carly took off.
Lucas got Joe back into the room, and he told him everything that happened with “Nathan” and Sidwell and how Sidwell kept calling him another name, Cassius Faison. Lucas told him that Cesar Faison was Britt and Nathan’s dad, and he was a really bad guy. “It’s obvious that Nathan… or Cassius… is, too,” Joe said.
Joe told Lucas how he’d found out that the syringe in Britt’s room was just saline. Lucas thought that had to be wrong, noting that Britt wouldn’t have injected herself with saline.
Liesl Opens The Door

At Wyndermere, Josslyn couldn’t believe it when Liesl showed her that she brought some wire cutters from the lab. She grabbed them out of Liesl’s hand and smashed a hole in the wall, exposing wires.
Liesl proceeded to cut wires while giving Josslyn a science lesson, and Josslyn questioned her the whole time, wanting her to second-guess herself. Eventually, the right wire was cut, and they opened the door, only to find Cullum’s henchman there.
Carly Walks Into Cullum’s Trap

Meanwhile, Carly got to Wyndermere using Charlotte’s instructions. She was almost caught in the living room by Cullum and one of his men but hid outside. After they left the room, she re-entered but was then caught anyway.
Cullum had a gun pointed at Carly as he thanked her for saving him a trip to go get her. Carly told him that he’d already lost, as Valentin went to Geneva and told them everything, including that he was a double agent.
Carly suggested Cullum’s best bet would be to run while he still could, but Cullum scoffed that if Valentin went to the WSB then he was even more naive than he thought. He said if the WSB believed Valentin, they would’ve been there by now, but Valentin was probably in a hole or lied to Carly and never went to Geneva at all.
Outside, Charlotte and Danny were there as well. They brought firecrackers to use as a distraction and set them off near the large truck that was positioned outside to take the cold fusion project.
When Cullum heard the noise, he ran out with his gun, leaving his henchman to take out Carly. He said that they’d take care of her, then Obrecht and Josslyn. Carly freaked out, but as the agent was taking off his jacket, she grabbed a fire poker and hit him with it.
