General Hospital Recap Dec 5: Cyrus, Esme, and Valentin return as Sidwell blackmails Sonny

In the General Hospital recap for Friday, December 5, 2025, it was an episode of familiar faces returning to Port Charles when Laura was haunted by Cyrus and Esme, and Valentin returned.

At Brennan’s, Jack asked if Carly’s holiday went okay, as she seemed like people were missing. Carly missed having Thanksgiving with Sonny and Jason, but wished her brother had been there. Jack had to go to work, but after he left, Carly recalled how Valentin told her that her and Jack’s ego were his weaknesses. 

Josslyn came home and tried to grab some things, but woke up Trina. She wanted to know what was going on with Josslyn, who said she had made a big mistake. Trina advised her about breaking up with Vaughn, but they were interrupted when she got a text from Jack saying to come to his office immediately.

Josslyn lied and said it was her mom messaging, then went to see Jack. At the WSB, he blasted her for giving Emma the address to Dalton’s dogs, but she stood by her action. Jack said he should have her transferred for that — and for still seeing Vaughn. 

Josslyn argued with Jack and said he wanted her as a pawn while she put innocent people like her uncle in danger, while he was allowed to have a relationship with her mom. Jack told her to torpedo his relationship after the job was completed, which was to get the lethal technology from Sidwell. 

Josslyn wanted to know why the WSB wanted it but Jack said it was classified. He got a phone call that took him aback. “Oh my god,” he said when he was told something.

Jason brought Britt home but she was miffed that he didn’t kiss her at the Brown Dog and slammed the door in his face. Britt’s alarm kept going off to take her meds but she was too drunk and fell. Jason came back in to help her.

At the hospital, Lucas and Felicia caught up about Maxie. Carly came in and interrupted, and offered Lucas some leftover pecan pie. He didn’t want it so she told her brother that she missed him and Thanksgiving wasn’t the same without him. Lucas asked if Marco would’ve been included, and when Carly hesitated, he told her this is why they have a problem. 

Lucas told Carly he loved her, but until she could accept Marco in his life, he needed space. Carly understood, said she loved him too, and if he needed her to call.

Sidwell went to Sonny’s and came in after his guards patted him down. Sidwell told Sonny he wanted to talk to him about a few things before he made the mistake of trying to kill him. Sidwell showed Sonny the photo of him at the scene of the crime. Sidwell rattled off crimes that were committed and told him not to push him, or he’d put him and Laura in prison. Sidwell said he wanted the piers and Sonny’s full cooperation.

Sidwell told Sonny how he had it all worked out to make sense to the public when Sonny handed over the piers. Sidwell warned that if anything happened to him or Marco, the gun would be delivered to the PCPD, and it was covered in Laura’s DNA.

Laura was startled out of a nap by yet another knock on the door, but was even more shocked when she opened it to see Cyrus. He came in and held out a box with a gun. He told her that it was the gun that was used to shoot Dalton. On the stairs, Laura was shocked to see 

Esme told Laura that she lost everything because of her, and she had no right raising Ace as she was unfit to do so. Laura gasped when she saw the gun in her hand. She bolted up from her sleep yelling she didn’t do it, then caught her breath when she realized it was a nightmare.

Kevin came home, and Laura told him about Sidwell’s blackmail and her dream. They weighed out the options of going to the police and telling the truth. She knew that she couldn’t do it without implicating Sonny. 

Laura called Sonny to tell him, but he already knew. He said Sidwell visited him as well. “What are we going to do?” Laura asked anxiously. Sonny assured her they’d figure it out.

Carly heard a noise and grabbed a golf club. She felt someone walk up behind her and swung to hit them, but they stopped her. Carly gasped when Valentin reminded her that he told her he’d come to see her.
