Laura met with Martin and invited him to the Christmas brunch she and Kevin were hosting. He was surprised she didn’t give him coal for how he treated Tracy.

Michael and Tracy talked about Willow and Tracy’s involvement in helping him. She spotted Laura and Martin and marched over to say hello. Laura told Tracy she was mortified at what Martin did, but Tracy said that she had nothing to apologize for.

Laura told Marty he needed to thank Tracy and apologize. Martin offered to text it to her instead. Tracy told her to speak from the tiny hotspot in the middle of his chest. Martin apologized, but Tracy told him how despicable he was.

Tracy said if Martin were truly sorry, he’d stand up to Drew. Tracy and Laura pressured Martin to get the heirlooms back from Drew. He reluctantly stormed off to track him down in court per their orders. Tracy smiled triumphantly at Laura.

In court, Chase testified about Willow’s character and said he believed the police bungled the case by overlooking other obvious suspects. He admitted he did his own research to find proof that Willow was innocent. Alexis was satisfied with his testimony, but Brook Lynn and Dante were jaw-dropped.

ADA Turner cross-examined Chase, and she clarified that Chase didn’t actually find any evidence to exonerate his ex-wife. When he came off the stand, Dante told him to meet him at the station immediately, while Brook Lynn glared.

The courtroom was shocked when Portia took the stand. Alexis immediately questioned her about falsifying the results of a test. Portia admitted to tampering with Heather Webber’s results and explained why. Alexis got Portia to admit that Drew found out and blackmailed her about it.

Portia had to testify that Drew ordered her to get Curtis to withdraw negative coverage at Aurora. Alexis asked if Portia was upset enough to shoot Drew, but she denied it.

Alexis asked if Portia had ever been in the Quartermaine estate. Portia testified that she was there a couple times a month and that she was there last in September before Monica died.

Alexis asked Portia to say where she was the night Drew was shot. Portia cried and pleaded Alexis not to make her say it as she didn’t shoot Drew. “I was at the Metro Court. In a hotel room,” Portia said. Alexis made her say in front of Trina and Curtis that she was with Isaiah.

Portia tried to explain but Alexis cut her off. Portia cried from the stand that she was sorry to Trina and Curtis. Trina ran out of the courtroom as Curtis locked eyes with Portia, realizing that he might not be the father of the baby.

It was ADA Turner’s turn to cross-examine, but she had no questions. Portia was allowed to step down, with Curtis staring at her.

In the hallway, Trina ranted to Kai about how much her mom lies. When Portia came out, Trina didn’t want to talk to her. Curtis told Kai to take Trina home. Before she could speak, Curtis cut her off. “I only want to know one thing. Is the baby mine?” Curtis asked.

Portia admitted she didn’t know, and that she was waiting to take a paternity test before telling him she was pregnant. Curtis didn’t know what to believe but didn’t think she should talk to Trina until she was ready. “I’m really sorry about this,” Portia cried. “Now that I believe. I just don’t give a damn,” Curtis said before walking away. Portia sobbed on the bench as Ava came out and comforted her.

In the courtroom, the judge recessed the trial until after the new year. Despite Alexis’ objections to get in another witness, the judge hit the gavel and left. “That was a disaster!” Drew fumed at Alexis.

Drew told Alexis that getting Portia to testify only made Alexis look mean, and it ruined Portia’s life. Willow wondered if the jury would believe any other witness. Drew told Alexis she couldn’t see Scout over the holidays.

When Willow and Drew came out of the courtroom, reporters accosted them. Back inside, a delivery guy gave Alexis an envelope. In it, a typed, unsigned letter told her that Michael was at Drew’s house the night of the shooting, and that Tracy saw him there.

At the police station, Dante asked what he was doing. Chase recalled Alexis’s advice about his duty by voicing his concerns. He told Dante he was sworn to tell the truth, and so he did. Dante told him he undermined the department and didn’t deserve to wear the badge. “If I don’t, then neither do you,” Chase retorted.

Chase said it was clear to him that Willow wasn’t going to get a fair shake, and Dante used his position to steer the focus from his brother. Dante reminded him that he wasn’t running the investigation; Anna was. Chase didn’t think that Anna was biased, but Dante was.

“I think you screwd up Michael’s life once before and got him sent to prison. Consciously or not, I think this is your way of making sure that doesn’t happen again,” Chase said.

Dante told Chase he was way out of line. He reminded Chase of the new evidence and the footage showing Willow where she said she wasn’t. Claiming the evidence was damning, Dante asked if Chase got rid of the footage.

Chase denied it, but Dante said Internal Affairs would have questions about that and his rogue investigation. He suspended Chase and asked for his gun and badge.
