TL;DR: In today’s General Hospital recap for Monday, August 3rd, 2026, Jason told Sonny he was leaving for good, Anna warned Valentin about the WSB, Josslyn confronted Brennan over Nina, and Gio and Trina’s new contract ran into unexpected trouble.

General Hospital Recap August 3

At Sonny’s, he and Jason got emotional as Sonny tried to understand why Jason wanted out. He told him about the day he’d been taken, and how he almost shot Cullum. Sonny couldn’t believe Jason had the guy in his sights and didn’t take the shot.

Jason told him how he promised to be at Danny’s basketball game but instead, Danny saw him assault Dante. He explained what happened at the pier and how Rocco shot a WSB agent for him and Britt, and he saw the look on his face after he fired. Jason said he knew Rocco couldn’t go down for it, and that it could have been Danny.

Jason explained what it was like to be hauled away with Danny screaming to let him go. He said something broke inside of him, wondering what he was doing to his kid. He said he had to do better for his son. He said he couldn’t kill for Sonny again and had to stop what he was doing before Danny wanted to follow in his footsteps. “He already has,” Sonny told him.

Jason Says Goodbye to Sonny

Sonny assured Jason that he turned Danny down. Jason was grateful, but said that it was his last chance to be a true father to Danny before he didn’t need him anymore. “I’m out,” he said. Jason didn’t know what was next.

Jason told Sonny he was the one who gave him a life and a purpose and taught him so much. “You were my friend and you became the brother I needed and I always wanted. I just want you to know how grateful I am for that,” Jason said as Sonny cried. Sonny knew he was going to do what he was going to do. “But it would be nice to have your blessing,” Jason told him.

“You don’t need to ask; you already have it,” Sonny said. He told Jason that he always had his back and been a brother to him for years as well — and that he always would be. “Nothing could change that,” Sonny added. They were both crying when Jason left.

Anna Warns Valentin

At Metro Court, Peter told Anna that Valentin wasn’t going to be able to help her anymore as they watched him and Carly kiss. She elbowed him away and then turned to bolt, but crashed into a server and his tray.

Hearing the kerfuffle and spotting her, Valentin and Carly insisted that a reluctant Anna join them when they noticed her. She noticed the champagne, and they told her they were celebrating Valentin getting his assets unfrozen. “What? You just got your freedom, and you’re throwing it away? You fool!” Anna snapped.

Anna didn’t believe that the WSB would have given Valentin his assets back without a price. He told her he made a deal, but she thought he was wrong and it would bite him. Carly tried to back him up, but Anna told her coldly that she and Valentin knew more about the WSB than she did.

Carly agreed but said she knew that some people could get released from the WSB and hoped that Josslyn would be one of them. Anna told her it was too late for that.

Carly and Anna Talk About Josslyn

Anna admitted she knew last summer that Josslyn was in the WSB and that was why she sent Jason to Five Poppies. Valentin told her that if Anna said anything, she would’ve been charged with treason. Carly said it was difficult for her to know that Anna knew before she did.

Anna understood but swore if she’d known Josslyn was thinking about it, she would have done everything she could to dissuade her. Valentin gave Anna a look, so she stopped being negative and said that perhaps Josslyn would prove her wrong and get out.

Anna left, and Valentin said there was something going on with her. He thought that Faison was still haunting her and would be for quite some time.

Valentin jumped up to approach Nina as she passed by. He told her that if she continued her association with Jack, it would cost her.

“I don’t know why anyone would willingly spend time with Jack Brennan,” Valentin scoffed. He told Nina that the only reason Jack was interested in her was that she was his ex-wife. Nina clapped back that he reminded her why they weren’t together and left; Carly was really happy she witnessed that.

Gio and Trina Forget Their Meeting

Brook Lynn and Simon were in the Surf Lounge discussing Trina and Gio. She noted that she knew Trina was talented last year, but she’d had some family issues to deal with. Simon confirmed it was nothing that would affect her now.

At Anna’s, Trina told Emma and Kai that Josslyn couldn’t make it as they hung out and kept her distracted from her dad’s trial. Gio got a call from Brook Lynn, wondering why he and Trina weren’t at their meeting with Simon. They had forgotten and had to rush off to make it.

Meanwhile, Josslyn was jogging when she stopped as she had some abdominal pain. She had flashbacks to the shootout on Spoon Island.

When Gio, Trina, and Kai arrived at Surf Lounge, Simon asked who he was, so Kai introduced himself and extended his hand. Simon didn’t shake it and told Brook Lynn they had a big problem.

Brook Lynn and Simon walked away to talk, leaving Kai, Trina, and Gio bewildered. Simon angrily told Brook Lynn that it made a huge difference to him that Kai and Trina were together and not Trina and Gio. He snapped that they’d done a whole marketing plan around them being in love, and wished he’d known beforehand.

Gio Wants Out

Brook Lynn also wondered why she didn’t know about it but he barked at her that if they’d gotten there on time, he could’ve laid it all out. Simon said he had to catch a flight but ordered her to get them on board.

Brook Lynn returned to Gio, Kai, and Trina and explained that Simon had the impression that Gio and Trina were a couple. When she said it was part of the marketing plan, Gio told her he was glad there was a 90-day out clause and wanted to take it.

Brook Lynn suggested they give Simon some time to come up with a new plan. Trina didn’t want to lose the deal because of a misunderstanding, but Brook Lynn assured them she’d handle it.

Meanwhile, somewhere, someone with a wall of Trina photos were altering more on a laptop. They were of Trina at the Metro Court pool, and in the photos that she was with Kai, the person was removing him from the picture.

Dante Wrestles With His Decision

At the ball park, Ric interrupted Dante and Elizabeth. He got in some jabs at Dante as he told Elizabeth he was on the Corinthos Coffee team. He asked Elizabeth to dinner but she said she was too tired so they planned a date for Wednesday instead.

Ric left, and Dante and Elizabeth talked about Anna coming back and how she didn’t ask too many questions about Cullum’s shooting and the missing evidence because she trusted Dante’s word. Elizabeth said she helped him break the rules because she thought it was the right thing to do then, and still did.

Dante was pretty sure Anna knew he was the one who destroyed evidence. Despite her seemingly excusing him, it was weighing on him that he did it. Elizabeth made him stop beating himself up and told him he made the right call. They finally stood up to leave, as Ric was watching the whole time from afar.

Josslyn Confronts Brennan

At his office, Jack and Nina assured each other that they didn’t have another agenda. As they began to kiss, Josslyn walked in and knew. Nina was surprised to learn that Josslyn was an agent. She left so Jack and Josslyn could talk.

Once alone, Josslyn warned Jack he was making himself vulnerable to a huge liability by being with Nina. Josslyn told Jack that Nina let her family believe Sonny was dead for months, while she let Sonny believe he was someone else. “That’s enough!” Jack yelled.

Brennan said that he was well aware that you shouldn’t have a social life in that job, and if you did have one, you had to keep it from what matters most: “Your work.”

Anna Worries About Emma

When Anna got home, Emma was waiting for her. She told Anna how much she meant to her and wanted to spend some time with her. Suggesting they watch a movie, Emma ran out to get some popcorn.

Once alone, Peter returned to remind Anna that Emma had her whole life ahead of her and she needed to protect her. Anna agreed but thought Valentin would help her. “He’s moved on. He’s not going to save you or Emma. Britt will use Emma to get to you!” Peter warned. Anna insisted she couldn’t let that happen. “Good, because you’re the only one who can stop Britt,” Peter told her.
