TL;DR: In the General Hospital recap for Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, Ric was going to propose but caught Dante with his pants down at Elizabeth’s instead; Drew and Ava plotted some more, Jordan became the new CEO of Aurora, Willow threatened Kai; and Gio made a decision about his music career.
General Hospital Recap August 19

Kai went to the gatehouse and tendered his resignation to Willow face-to-face. She wondered where that respect went when he spread lies about her to Michael. Kai told Willow he was there when she shot Drew and that he recognized her ringtone at the courthouse. She said it was ages ago and asked why he didn’t go to the police if he was so sure it was her.
Kai told Willow that he still could. Willow said if he did, he’d have to explain why he broke into her house and left Drew to die. She said it could get dicey for him and he could look like the shooter. Kai told her that he came forward with the truth when he heard that she wanted to take the kids from Michael. Willow said he shouldn’t have interfered in her custody of the kids.
Kai yelled at her that Curtis is getting 10 years for punching someone and she got nothing. She told him that he threw a grenade into her and Michael’s lives, and if he thought he was walking away unscathed, he was mistaken. Kai told her to watch him and walked out the door.
Curtis Picks A Replacement For Aurora

Jordan watched as Curtis held Desmond and told him he enjoyed their extra time together because he’d have to say goodbye soon. She assured Curtis that Dez would miss him but wouldn’t remember as he got older. Curtis was upset that he would miss his first words and steps, just like he did with Trina.
Michael texted to ask if he could stop by about Aurora. When he got there, Curtis said that since Jordan would be his link to the outside world while he was in Pentonville, he wanted to loop her in from the jump. They talked about work stuff, and Michael said he’d temporarily replace Curtis, but he would be reinstated the moment he was released. Michael asked if Curtis had any suggestions, and he said Jordan.
Curtis assured Jordan she could handle it, and when he left to check on the baby, Michael agreed with it. He said that Curtis trusted her and it would mean a lot to him knowing the company was in good hands while he was away. Michael also thought she was capable of the position and said it was hers if she wanted it. When Curtis returned, she accepted the job.
Jack Warned Nina About Willow

At the Metro Court pool, Nina was sitting at a table when Drew walked in. “Nina Reeves. You…me…a body of water. Am I the only one having deja vu?” he asked. Nina claimed she had no idea what he was talking about, but Drew told her he hadn’t forgotten what happened at the lake. As Jack arrived, Drew warned her not to get too close to the edge.
Once alone, Nina asked if Jack could dig up dirt on Michael because he was blackmailing Willow after getting affidavits from Trina and Kai. Jack suggested Nina stay out of Willow and Michael’s very toxic relationship before she gets herself in even more trouble trying to “help.” Nina was distracted when she spotted Drew with Ava.
Jack told Nina there was a fine line between being supportive and enabling, and she needed to pull back before Willow dragged her down with her. Just then, Nina got a text from Willow, so she rushed over.
Willow told her about Kai and said that because she pushed so hard, Trina and Kai got involved, and now Michael had all the power over her. Nina reminded Willow that things have changed. She said she was a congresswoman, and Willow noted that now she had allies.
Drew Plotted With Ava

Drew took a seat with Ava and told her that he’d done regrettable things to Nina and Willow, but if they were keeping score, it was nothing in comparison to what they’d done to him. He told her that Sonny just lost his right hand, which would leave him in a weakened position.
Ava said she had inside info from being around Jenz and could help him beat out Sonny and Valentin in the auction bidding on Sidwell’s assets. Jack stopped by on his way out to warn Ava that the company she was keeping could endanger her, and reminded Drew that he had enough strikes against him and wouldn’t want to add to the list.
After Jack walked away, Ava told Drew she was surprised he let him speak to him that way. “He thinks he has power over me. For now I’m playing along,” Drew said, smiling. Ava knew he meant that soon, the tables would turn.
Ric Shared His Plans With Sonny

At Sonny’s, Donna helped him make invitations to a barbecue. She hoped that Justine could come because she liked her a lot and knew that Sonny did, too. He told her Justine would be too busy but she secretly made her an invitation anyway.
Ric dropped by and told Donna he hoped he would get an invitation. He quietly told Sonny he had a personal emergency. Ric pulled out a ring box and showed Sonny the diamond ring inside. He told Sonny he was going to propose to Elizabeth that night. Sonny thought it might be too soon for Elizabeth, and noted that she hadn’t indicated she was ready. Ric was worried about losing her to Dante, or that he would screw things up somehow.
Sonny pointed out that in the past, that devotion had turned to obsession, but Ric swore he’d changed. He said being with her now made him become the man he’d always wanted to be. Sonny agreed and told him he could see that. He said everything in life was a gamble, wished him good luck, and gave him a hug.
Elizabeth And Dante Get In A Compromising Position

At the ballpark, Elizabeth told Dante she bought a bookcase, but it arrived unassembled. He offered to come over and help assemble it. When Dante showed up later, he was limping. He said that he hurt his knee sliding into home base, but Elizabeth wanted to check it out.
Elizabeth had him lie on the couch and felt his leg. She said it was swelling and wanted him to get it checked out. Dante didn’t want to go to the hospital, so she said she would examine him and told him to take off his pants.
Elizabeth had Dante on the couch, pantless, and was just moving his leg when Ric arrived and saw them through the window. Looking like there was something more going on, Ric burst through the door and demanded to know what was going on.
Simon Shocks Emma

Gio introduced Simon to Emma when he arrived for their meeting. He said the agenda was to discuss their song choices and his marketing idea. Simon told Emma he wanted to promote Gio and Trina as a couple. Gio and Trina rejected the idea, but Simon said to reconsider. He thought people would be more invested if they thought they were singing to each other as the loves of their lives.
Someone added that they didn’t have to actually date, and that the fans could draw their own conclusions. Trina and Gio weren’t willing to pretend that Emma and Kai were just their friends. Simon glared when Kai interupted and asked to speak to Trina outside for a moment. Out there, Kai told her that he gave Willow his notice and that she didn’t take it well.
Back inside, Simon explained that it was never just about the music. He told Gio to think about it because if he wanted to succeed, he’d have to stand out, and this could do the trick. Simon left, and Gio told Emma that it wasn’t worth it to pretend to be a couple with Trina. He promised she wasn’t holding him back, and said the only way he would ever achieve success was with her by his side. “If it looks like anything else, I don’t want it,” he said.
