General Hospital Earns Multiple Daytime Emmy Award Nominations
For more than six decades, General Hospital has remained one of the cornerstones of daytime television. Since its 1963 debut, the ABC drama has introduced generations of viewers to the residents of Port Charles while continually reinventing itself through memorable characters, dramatic storytelling and emotional performances.
That tradition of excellence continued with the announcement of the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards nominations.
General Hospital earned recognition across performance, writing, directing and production categories, including a nomination for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series. Veteran performers, emerging talent and the creative teams behind the scenes were all recognized, reflecting the collaborative effort that continues to keep Port Charles among daytime television’s most enduring fictional communities.
A Legacy of Excellence

Few series can match the history of General Hospital. As the longest-running American daytime drama currently in production, the series has spent more than 60 years evolving with its audience while remaining rooted in the relationships, rivalries, and family legacies that define Port Charles.
This year’s nominations continue that legacy, recognizing both familiar faces and newer additions to the cast while celebrating the writers, directors and production professionals whose work brings the series to life each weekday.
General Hospital once again finds itself competing for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, joining Beyond the Gates, Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless in the category. The nomination reflects another year of ambitious storytelling, balancing legacy characters with new generations while continuing to explore the personal, professional and family relationships that have made Port Charles one of television’s most recognizable settings.
Port Charles Performs

The series earned nominations across multiple performance categories, highlighting both established stars and rising talent.
Steve Burton received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor for his portrayal of Jason Morgan. Burton’s return to Port Charles has once again placed one of the show’s most iconic characters at the center of some of its biggest stories.
Amanda Setton earned recognition in the Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actress category for her performance as Brook Lynn Quartermaine, continuing a strong period of storytelling for one of the show’s most beloved legacy families.
The future of General Hospital was equally well represented. Braedyn Bruner earned a nomination for Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series, while Giovanni Mazza also received recognition in the category. Their nominations reflect the continuing importance of introducing new generations of characters while maintaining the show’s rich history.
The Guest Performance category also showcased memorable appearances from Jeff Kober and Eva LaRue, whose work left a lasting impression despite more limited time on screen. Together, the nominations celebrate a cast that continues to balance longtime daytime favorites with exciting new performers.
Writers and Directors Continue a Tradition of Storytelling

Every chapter in Port Charles begins with the creative teams who shape the stories audiences follow each day.
This year, General Hospital earned nominations for both Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Drama Series and Outstanding Directing Team for a Daytime Drama Series, recognizing the collaborative work that transforms scripts into compelling performances.
Across more than six decades, General Hospital has continually adapted to changing audiences while remaining true to the emotional storytelling that has defined the series since its debut. These nominations recognize the creative leadership responsible for continuing that tradition.
Behind the Camera: The Teams That Bring Port Charles to Life

From writers and directors to camera operators, lighting crews, hairstylists, makeup artists, casting professionals, and countless others working behind the scenes, the Daytime Emmy Awards celebrate the collaborative effort required to produce one of television’s longest-running dramas.
This year’s nominations recognize not only the performances audiences welcome into their homes each afternoon, but also the dedicated professionals whose work helps ensure General Hospital continues to thrive after more than 60 years.
