The Soap Scene Cheat Sheet: General Hospital
Weekly Recap for June 29–July 3, 2026
Here’s this week’s General Hospital Cheat Sheet, with your weekly recap, a daily breakdown, and what lies ahead in Port Charles.
The Week That Was

Anna’s Instincts Finally Paid Off
Anna’s discovery of Madeline’s letter at Faison’s château gave her the evidence she’d been searching for, even if convincing Felicia wasn’t easy. While the letter stopped short of outright identifying Cassius as Nathan’s identical twin, it explained enough for Anna to connect the pieces that no one else could see.
By week’s end, Felicia acknowledged Anna had been right all along, and Dr. Laurent declared her healthy enough to leave the clinic. But just when it appeared Anna’s ordeal was finally over, Peter appeared once again, leaving viewers wondering whether her recovery was truly complete or whether another psychological battle was only beginning.
Cassius Faison’s Tragic Redemption

No character carried more emotional weight this week than Cassius. First, Cullum ordered him to kill Sidwell. But when he and Joe discovered Jenz and Ezra at the house Jenz bought for Marco and Lucas, he turned the gun on Joe. After he knocked out the cop, Cassius took Sidwell’s gun, then sent him to hit the road. He also spared Ezra, asking him to care for Joe when he woke up.
Since Sidwell put his real identity on blast first, Cassius knew time was limited, and spent it with James. But when Cody heard warning messages from Felicia, he tipped off Cassius that the word was out and encouraged him to hit the road. After a very heartbreaking goodbye, Cassius got in a car with Canadian plates and a Canadian passport and drove off. But he didn’t leave Port Charles.
Sidwell Refused To Leave Without Security

Sidwell wanted a hostage to bring along with him, and a way out of town. So he went to the gallery, shot Ethan, who dove in front of Ava to save her, and took Justine. Ava and Ethan made it to a store room, where he lost a lot of blood and admitted he wasn’t Phoebe’s father.
Meanwhile, Sidwell summoned Sonny, who offered to take Justine’s place. After a scuffle, Sonny got Sidwell’s gun but didn’t kill him in cold blood thanks to Justine’s pleading — which earned him a passionate kiss later, and Sidwell left in cuffs.
Spoon Island Becomes a War Zone

Carly infiltrated Wyndemere using Charlotte’s insider knowledge; Danny refused to let her face danger alone, Josslyn and Liesl desperately searched for a way out of captivity, and Cullum prepared to disappear with years of stolen research.
Cassius saved Carly before she could be killed. Carly reached Josslyn and Liesl. Obrecht locked Carly with her while Josslyn ran out with Carly’s newly acquired gun to go assist Cassius, as Carly told her he was taking out Cullum & Co.
On the shipping doc, Cullum remained dangerous until the very end. After Josslyn and Cassius were both shot, he told Cassius how he’d sealed Britt’s fate by letting him send her poison, and he was always planning on letting him be his fall guy. But before Cullum could shoot Cassius again, Josslyn crawled to a gun and killed Cullum.
Behind them, a helicopter landed, and Z arrived. At the hospital, he told Josslyn she was the sole survivor of the shootout. She knew the bad rap the WSB would get and offered to make a statement blaming everything on Cassius and making Cullum the hero in exchange for Valentin and Jason’s full releases.
Families Were Left Picking Up the Pieces

Dante and Lulu returned home, but Rocco wasn’t happy that Britt was arrested. She’d been moved to Port Charles’ PCPD jail, where Vaughn reappeared after being on a secret mission, he said. He pressed her to make a deal with the WSB.
But Britt had bigger problems as Liesl was so hurt that she was running away again, and she said she’d give her attention to the son who wanted her instead, unaware he was declared deceased.
Carly’s focus never shifted from Josslyn. Even after learning her daughter would survive her gunshots, she quickly realized that physical recovery wasn’t her greatest concern. Carly went to see Z and demanded Josslyn’s release from the WSB.

Danny and Charlotte sought legal help, Carly waited anxiously for Josslyn to wake up, Rocco blamed Dante for Britt’s arrest, and Josslyn negotiated a remarkable deal with the WSB — agreeing to protect the agency’s reputation by blaming everything on Cassius and making Cullum the hero in exchange for Jason and Valentin being cleared. Carly then confronted WSB director Z, demanding her daughter back.
Scene Stealer of the Week

John Oliver arrives as Z, Head Honcho at the WSB
Anticipation hovered all week for the guest-starring appearance of John Oliver. The host of Last Week Tonight announced late Sunday night that he would be appearing on the episodes airing July 2nd and 3rd (and the 6th next week), and the photo he showed from his first scene had everyone guessing. A helicopter landed on Spoon Island, agents hopped out and flanked the man who goes by “Z” to the scene of the deadly shootout.
As Z passed one of Cullum and Sidwell’s guys on the ground reaching for his gun, he ever-so-casually pulled a gun himself and shot the guy without missing a beat in his gait. And it only went uphill from there. He has one filmed episode left on Monday, and fans are already asking about his return — and if it wasn’t for the preview showing him hitting on Carly, we’d be hopeful another visit was a sure thing.
Next Week’s Cheat Sheet

The fallout is only beginning. Carly goes to war with the WSB over Josslyn and wanting her out, Britt faces mounting legal and emotional pressure, Lulu searches for answers after learning Nathan was never really back, Willow’s legal troubles continue, Danny reveals another secret, and Sonny warns Carly that the danger isn’t over yet. But the biggest question needs answering: Is Cassius still alive?
