Fairmont Crest to Hawkins: Maurice P. Kerry Bridges the Gap Between Beyond the Gates and Stranger Things Season 5
The daytime landscape shifted significantly with the premiere of CBS’s groundbreaking Beyond the Gates. But just before actor Maurice P. Kerry began navigating the Fairmont Crest underworld, he was in the Upside Down on Stranger Things.
From Beyond the Gates to Stranger Things

On Beyond the Gates, Maurice P. Kerry has brought a gritty, layered energy to the show through his character, Randy Parker. But just before he took on that role, Kerry was lending his acting skills to another one of the biggest television events in history: the fifth and final season of Netflix’s blockbuster hit, Stranger Things.
While soap fans have been focused on Randy’s next move, the world of sci-fi has been waiting for the conclusion of Stranger Things. Previews for Season 5 were notoriously tight-lipped, but Maurice P. Kerry’s involvement added an extra layer of anticipation for fans of both shows.
A New Chapter in Hawkins
As a co-star in the Stranger Things final season, Kerry brought his signature grit to the Upside Down. In episode 7 of the fifth season (entitled “The Bridge”), Kerry is seen at a critical point in the storyline. Without giving too much away for those who don’t want finale spoilers, Kerry played an army technician working with the ultra-evil Dr. Kay (Linda Hamilton) to find and capture Eleven.
Kerry’s fans instantly recognized him in the episode, bridging the gap between traditional broadcast TV and the streaming era. Kerry told The Soap Scene, “It was an honor to be part of Stranger Things. My kids and I love the show, and being invited into that universe was something I’ll always appreciate.”
“We filmed a lot more than what made the final cut, but that’s how big productions work — and I’m grateful I got to be part of it before stepping into Beyond the Gates as Randy Parker,” Kerry shared.
Randy Parker’s Next Move
Kerry has every right to be proud of his work as BTG’s Randy. A major plot twist weeks ago revealed that not only is Hayley (Marquita Goings) Randy’s cousin, but the two of them have been running a long-game scam to dupe, poison, kill, and collect the insurance funds from Hayley’s husband, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett).
As Randy Parker continues to shake things up on Beyond the Gates, and with the Hawkins finale just days away, one thing is certain: Maurice P. Kerry is an actor you need to keep your eyes on. Whether he’s dealing with the Duprees or Demogorgons, he’s playing for keeps.
