What Happened on Days of our Lives
Kristen awoke in the crypt, and Tony noted that he had no idea how long they had been in there. It didn’t take long before they started bickering, and Tony insulted Kristen about her parenting. She ripped into him about it, and he said he could see why Andre had liked her. Kristen snapped at him about that as well, and how awful Andre had been.
Kristen thought that it was EJ who took them, as he was the only one who could pull off something so orchestrated. Tony suggested Vivian. Kristen didn’t think so because they had food and water. Later, Kristen began digging and hit something solid.
In the pub, Alex said he was feeling better but thought some he’d eaten didn’t sit right with him. He left when Holly arrived, there to meet with Stephanie. Holly told her about Sarah being in the hospital and why. Holly did a pitch to be Stephanie’s assistant and got hired immediately.
Ari brought a pumpkin dessert for Friendsgiving to Tate’s, and found him studying and bummed out. He confided in her that if he didn’t completely ace his finals, he’d flunk out of Salem U. He said he was failing all of his classes and was down about it. Tate said that everything else happening in his life was a distraction and worried that Holly would be disappointed.
Ari suggested that Tate tell Holly, and she would help, but he thought she would think he was a loser. He was too embarrassed to go to the counsellors at school as well. Ari told him that if he didn’t swallow his pride, he was in for a big fall, so he should get over it.
Aaron arrived with pumpkin donuts, and Holly came with a pumpkin soufflé. Tate forgot food, so all they had were pumpkin dishes. Holly gushed that she got hired on the spot, making Tate feel worse. Aaron told the group about seeing Sophia and suggested that it might cheer her up if Tate visited. Holly thought he should do what he thought was right, and Tate said it was worth a try.
In the square, Chanel was walking Trey to get him to stop being so fussy when she saw Aaron. Things got awkward when Chanel asked if he wanted to hold the baby, and he said no. Aaron explained he liked to be able to see Trey now and then, but didn’t want to get too attached.
After Aaron left, Chanel saw Alex, who stopped to say hi to the baby, but he started crying again. Chanel joined Alex and Stephanie at the pub and told them all about what it was like to become a parent. Stephanie quipped how much she loved babysitting because she could hand the baby back to the parents at the end of the night. Alex realized that Stephanie might not want kids.
When Chanel left, Alex asked Stephanie if she meant what she said about the greatest part of babysitting being when you can hand the kids back to the parents. Stephanie said she wanted to be a mom one day but hearing Chanel about how much their life had changed, it wasn’t something she wanted anytime soon.
Stephanie noted he looked disappointed and wondered if he wanted kids right away. Before he could answer, she suggested they table the conversation, which, although he agreed, seemed to bother him even more.
Brady came into Marlena’s hospital room, and Belle told him that Marlena was getting a pacemaker. He asked if he could talk to her as his sister, not the D.A. Brady shared how Sarah was poisoned, but also that when Rachel saw Sarah’s severe reaction, it triggered a memory.
Brady told Belle that Kristen didn’t shoot EJ — Rachel did. He said that she told him that she’d grabbed the gun and demanded to know where her grandmother was, and shooting him was an accident. He said the memory was so traumatic that Rachel buried it. He asked Belle what she was going to do.
Belle told Brady that they missed the signs with Claire, too, and suggested they get Rachel the help she needed while they stayed supportive. She asked if Rachel’s memory was 100% accurate, as Kristen confessed. Brady recalled Kristen telling him that the whole reason she was confessing was for Rachel and he realized she had taken the fall for their daughter.
Brady didn’t know how Kristen would have known, but he knew one thing: Kristen believed she was protecting Rachel when she allowed herself to be hauled off to prison for attempted murder.
Brady got Rachel checked into the hospital for observation. Dr. Fuller told him that they would move her to the adolescent ward at Bayview. He cried that he felt like he had failed his daughters. Belle told him that he was a great dad, and Rachel would get better, just like Claire did.
