Days of our Lives Recap May 4: Jada Gets Chilling News as EJ and Kristen Accuse One Another

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Johnny learns Chanel’s breast lump is likely malignant and requires a biopsy, Leo rushes to Javi’s bedside, EJ and Kristen accuse one another, and the police find chilling evidence suggesting Sophia may have ended her life.

Days of our Lives Recap May 4

Cat rambled to EJ in Small Bar, but he was distracted. He told her that he was waiting for the other shoe to drop, but knowing his father, it was already in midair.

She had his full attention after he noticed Kristen come in, and wanted Cat to distract him from the person he was trying to forget about.

Chanel called and told EJ what happened, so he said he needed to get to the hospital. Across the bar, Kristen snickered that he got bad news.

Cat told Kristen that Johnny had been brought to the hospital. Kristen feigned concern, asked if he was dead, then thanked Cat and said she would go to the hospital.

Leo Rushes To Javi

In the square, Leo saw the police reports and realized there had been an incident at Chanel and Johnny’s apartment. Worried about them and Trey, he ran off. 

Leo went to the hospital and saw Jada, who confirmed that Trey was not the victim. Unable to get any other information from her, he went to find out on his own.

Meanwhile, Sarah went to Javi’s hospital room and explained to him that he’d inhaled noxious gas. Leo burst in and asked if he was alright.

Leo said he was looking for Chanel and Johnny, but fate led him to Javi. 

Paulina came in with Trey, as she’d mixed up the room numbers. She mentioned Sophia, shocking Leo and Javi with the news that she was the one who caused the situation.

When Paulina left, Leo told Javi that he was a hero. He got emotional when he said how grateful he was that Leo was okay.

Javi told Leo that he’d always care about him, too, but said they couldn’t have these types of conversations anymore. He started to say they should keep their distance from one another, but Leo got upset. Sarah interrupted to go over test results with Javi, so Leo left, hurt. Sarah told Javi that it gets easier. “I promise,” she soothed.

Johnny Has Visitors

At the hospital, Johnny told Chanel he didn’t think he was going to see her again and that Sophia tried to kill him.

Johnny told her how evil and calculated Sophia had been, and that he worried he wouldn’t make it for her or their kids. Chanel cried and thought about how Sarah told her that her lump was likely malignant.

Chanel asked why Sophia would do what she did. 

EJ interrupted, hugging Johnny and saying how grateful he was that he was okay. When EJ heard what happened, he wanted to go after Sophia, but Johnny just wanted everyone to be grateful they were all safe.

Jada came to question Johnny, so EJ stepped out. She told Chanel and Johnny that they hadn’t found Sophia, but they did find a suicide note.

Johnny answered Jada’s questions and told her the things that Sophia told him. He understood better why she didn’t care about the consequences if she’d left a goodbye letter.

Chanel Tells Johnny About Her Scans

After Jada left, Johnny wondered why Chanel was at the hospital when he came in. She reluctantly told him about the extra imaging she did, and he asked if she had the results.

Before Chanel could tell him, Paulina came in with Trey for a visit. Paulina told them that they could stay in her guest room since their place was uninhabitable.

After Paulina and Trey left, Chanel said that Sarah had put a rush on the mammogram results, and they would have to do a biopsy, but that Sarah thought it was cancer.

EJ and Kristen Accuse One Another

In the hall, EJ saw Kristen and fumed at her being there. When she told him, despite her contempt for him, Johnny was her nephew, and she cared about him.

EJ then fumed about Sophia and said he would put her in prison for what she did. Kristen agreed and asked if Sophia had told Johnny why she wanted to kill him, but he said he was telling everything to the police.

Jada came out of Johnny’s room, and EJ questioned her about finding and punishing Sophia. EJ declared he wished her dead, so Jada warned him to watch his words.

Kristen defended Sophia, saying that Johnny crushed her when he pulled out of the adoption. EJ went off on Kristen for blaming the victim, adding that she wasn’t free of sin when it came to Sophia Choi. 

EJ and Kristen began arguing about Sophia and throwing each other under the bus in front of Jada. As things got heated, Jada got a call that the police had found Sophia’s backpack on the bridge and a shoe in the water.

Cat Meets With Rafe

At the Hernandez house, Rafe got a phone call. He looked at the caller ID and said, “Kelly Jones,” before answering. Cat told him about Johnny and confirmed he was alone, then headed over to talk.

When Cat arrived, Rafe told her what he found out about Johnny’s hospitalization. He got emotional talking about how much he loved Johnny like a son.

Rafe asked how Cat knew about Johnny, so she told him she and EJ were out for dinner. “You were on a date?” Rafe asked. Cat said EJ just wanted a distraction from his troubles. Rafe was less than impressed.
