Days of our Lives Recap May 14

At the police station, Jada told Sophia’s parents, Amy and Jason Choi, that they were shifting the search to a recovery operation. Amy screamed that she would not accept that her Sophia was gone. Jada assured them they were doing all they could.
Once alone, Amy blasted Jason for being understanding to Jada. He told Amy how much he was hurting too and how he didn’t want to believe Sophia could be gone. Amy said unless proven otherwise, she would not believe that their little girl was gone.
Shawn And Johnny Are Released

At the hospital, Sarah told Shawn he was being released and that she’d already let Jada know. Meanwhile, in Johnny’s hospital room, Chanel wanted to take Johnny home, but he insisted on staying for her biopsy. While Chanel was in the room with Sarah, Johnny and Shawn ran into one another in the waiting area.
When Jada arrived, they could tell she was upset. She shared that she just had to share the news with Jason and Amy Choi that their daughter was most likely dead.
Gabi and Ari Clash Over Liam

At the Hernandez house, Gabi was offended when Ari told her that she didn’t appreciate the way she was trying to be a helicopter mother. She told her that when she was in Arizona, her dads were so over-protective that if she was out of the house for over an hour, they’d call all of her friends and their parents.
Gabi asked if she thought she could do whatever she wanted with her. “I assumed you wouldn’t pay any attention. It’s always been all about you,” Ari told her. She said that it was too late to play supermom, and asked her to just let her go.
Gabi blasted Ari about how much it hurt to be separated from her while she was in prison. “I know you weren’t gone on purpose, Mom,” Ari said. However, she added that she couldn’t make up for lost time by trying to run her life and keep her from seeing Liam. “Liam?” Gabi asked. She wanted to know why Ari was even bringing him up and asked what was the matter with her.
“I guess I’m my mother’s daughter,” Ari smirked. She pointed out that she was supportive of Gabi and Philip but wondered why she couldn’t reciprocate. Gabi couldn’t believe her ears and asked why she was insisting on a guy like Liam.
Gabi and Ari Find Common Ground

Ari told Gabi that Liam was a good person and a good father, and he was trying really hard to better himself. Gabi implored her to ask herself what kind of relationship she wanted, and Liam would be able to give that to her. “Honestly, I don’t know,” Ari told her. She said the heart wants what the heart wants.
Gabi said that she had been given similar advice when she was her age and didn’t want to take it, so she had to take a lot of hits learning from her mistakes. “Yes, I know. So let me learn from mine,” Ari asked. Gabi relented and said she just didn’t want her to have her heart broken.
“Like you did with Stefan?” Ari asked. Gabi told her that Philip did some digging in Alamainia and found that her divorce papers were forged, making her his widow and therefore a possible heir to Stefano’s money. She told Ari that most importantly, she knew he loved her to the very end.
Jada Brings Shawn Home

At Jada’s, she got him settled into the guest room and showed him that she’d had his clothes and books brought over. Shawn was appreciative but didn’t want to take advantage. “Well, actually, I wouldn’t mind if you…took…advantage…of me,” Jade told him with a coy smile.
Jada told Shawn she was just teasing him. “I guess that’s just too bad…” Shawn teased back.
Amy Confronts Holly and Tate

In the Kiriakis mansion living room, Holly was stressing that she’d failed her test, and Tate was getting frustrated listening to her. He got her to do some breathing exercises with him to relax, which worked until Amy showed up.
Amy told them she just found out that the police presumed Sophia was dead and they were looking for her body. Tate and Holly both said they were sorry to hear that, but Amy would only believe Tate. Holly went off on Amy and said she wasn’t sorry Sophia was gone because it meant she couldn’t hurt her again.
Tate tried to diffuse the situation, but Holly blew up at him for thinking she could be blamed for anything. She fumed that all she did was vent online like every other teen in America. Holly turned back to Amy and told her that Sophia made some really bad choices, and she wasn’t going to take the blame for it.
“Of course, I forgot what a saint you are,” Amy clapped back. Sarah came down the hall in time to hear Amy threaten that if Sophia was really gone, she would make sure Holly grew old in Stateville for what Holly had done to her.
Sarah walked in and told Amy that she was sorry for her loss and that she was in so much pain, but it was time for her to leave. Sarah walked her to the door as Holly cried in Tate’s arms.
