Days of our Lives Recap May 13: Abe Torn Between Lexie and Paulina, EJ Squeezes Gwen Out Of Deal

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Lexie’s identity is confirmed and she is shocked to learn it’s 2026. Abe is faced with an impossible choice, telling both Lexie and Paulina that he loves them, while Paulina encourages him to be with Lexie. EJ demands a bigger share of the formula profits from Gwen, and Steve offers support to Alex.

Days of our Lives Recap May 13

Chanel saw Alex at the pub and congratulated him about the baby. He told her that Stephanie was trying to be supportive, but her world was rocked. Alex noted that Chanel probably wasn’t happy about Joy staying in Salem, but she said it was the least of her worries.

Kayla Confirms Lexie’s Identity

At Lexie’s bedside, Abe told Theo that he was shocked he had never told him she was alive, but was so grateful she was that he couldn’t be mad at him.

Kayla came in and said they compared dental records and DNA test results, and it really was Lexie. Theo offered to stay with Lexie, so Abe could go talk to Paulina.

Once alone, Theo chatted to his sleeping mother, but she was startled when she awoke. He told her she was okay and asked if she knew who he was, but she shook her head and said no.

Theo shocked Lexie by telling her it was 2026. He recalled a story of when he was the age she remembered him at, and Lexie softened, realizing he really was her son.

Paulina Grapples With Her New Reality

In the waiting area, Marlena saw Paulina, who told her that Lexie was alive. She told her everything, and Marlena commended her for not interfering in the process, even though she knew she could lose Abe to Lexie. Paulina told Marlena she heard Lexie and Abe say “I love you” to one another. 

When Chanel came, Paulina told her the shocking news that Lexie was alive, and said that Abe and Theo were at her bedside as they spoke. Paulina wasn’t sure if she had a home anymore as Abe’s wife was alive.

Abe came to see Paulina and asked Chanel for some privacy. Abe tried talking to Paulina about his feelings but said he didn’t know the words and didn’t know what to do. “Yes, you do; you need to support your wife and help her recover,” Paulina said.

Abe said that Paulina was his wife, too, and that he loved her and hated seeing her pain. Paulina told Abe that she loved him, too, but wanted him to go to Lexie.

When Abe went back to Lexie and Theo, he held her hand, and she saw his wedding ring. Abe told Lexie that she was gone for almost 15 years, and eventually he met someone, and they got married.

Marlena And Kayla Sympathize

Marlena went back to her office, and Kayla came to see her. They talked about Lexie’s return and what it meant to everyone. Marlena told Kayle that she went to Stefano’s will reading and left before her reveal.

Marlena recalled being in a similar situation with two men in her life and the problems it caused, along with all the hurt feelings. She hoped that Lexie, Abe, and Paulina wouldn’t have to go through what she did.

EJ Wants a New Deal With Gwen

Gwen came to the DiMera mansion, where EJ told her that Lexie was awake but taken to the hospital. She couldn’t believe that Leo had been in the tunnels and prevented him from being able to stop Lexie from revealing herself at the reading.

EJ said he’d been offered ten-digit figures for the formula so far. He suggested to Gwen that since no one knew of her involvement, he carried most of the risk. Since that ratio was unbalanced, he thought it was fair for him to take a disproportionate amount of the profits.

Gwen argued for her fair share, but EJ told her she didn’t have a legal leg to stand on. He advised her to take his offer or take nothing at all. Gwen kicked herself for trusting EJ, but he said he was making her rich, not screwing her over.

EJ said that he still needed to prove that Lexie was fine and to make it a complete success, it would need to be repeated.

Steve Pays Alex A Visit

Steve dropped by the apartment to see Alex. He assumed he was there to scold him for making things worse for Stephanie, but Steve empathized. He said he’d been there before himself and knew how hard it would be for both of them.

Steve offered his and Kayla’s help in any way and said that he knew Alex would do anything for Stephanie. He said that being a good husband and father would make everything work out. Steve promised that he and Kayla would always be there for him, his daughter, and their daughter, too.
