Days of our Lives Recap May 12: Ari likes bad guys, Holly spirals, Philip Surprises Gabi

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Ari tells Liam she knows about his past, then insists she likes bad guys. Marlena tells Belle to recuse herself from Holly’s cyberbullying case, while Philip gives Gabi a sample of Vivian’s signature. A distraught Holly lashes out at Tate and runs out on Sarah, who is concerned she will spiral.

Days of our Lives Recap May 12

Ari saw Liam at the bookstore and thought she’d try again with him. He reiterated that she didn’t know anything about him and that he was bad for her. Ari listed off the stuff that she knew from his plea deal, son, and being involved with Vivian. 

Ari said it wasn’t his decision to decide who was bad for her and asked if there was anything else she should know. Liam wondered how Ari knew so much about his past, and she told him that her uncle Rafe shared it.

Liam freaked out a little that her uncle was an FBI agent, but admitted he really liked her but was trying to protect her because he was a bad guy. “I don’t think that’s going to be a problem. I like bad guys,” Ari insisted.

Liam told Ari that there was a third person involved — Gage. He said they didn’t need his approval to hang out, but Ari told him he could weigh in after their first kiss.

Marlena Advises Belle

Belle came home, and Marlena told her about Stefano’s will reading and how he’d left John a chess set with the pawn and queen lying on top. She was happy not to have anything of Stefano’s in her home.

Belle told Marlena that Shawn was being discharged and going to Jada’s, then told her that Amy wanted to throw the book at Holly for cyberbullying.

Belle thought she should recuse herself, and Marlena agreed, given what happened when they tried to help Rachel. “You’re the D.A. It’s your job to prosecute criminals, not protect family,” Marlena added.

Philip Has Vivian’s Signature Sample

Gabi came home and told Philip that she didn’t know if she’d ever get her inheritance. She told Philip how she wasn’t the biggest bombshell at Stefano’s will reading, and that Lexie was alive. Being a member of the family again, she also promised not to tell anyone, so Philip said mum’s the word.

Philip got a sample of Vivian’s handwriting and gave it to Gabi. She told him that when she did get her inheritance, she owed him part of it. Gabi said how much it meant to her that he could help prove that Stefan still loved her and wanted to be married to her when he died.

Holly Lashes Out Then Spirals

In the pub, Holly was upset and taking it out on Tate. He realized she was stressing about finals and Sophia and not knowing how to process what happened. Tate felt bad but had to leave for work.

Sarah and Brady talked about their days, Rachel, and Sophia. Brady wished Mrs. Choi wasn’t targeting Holly. They agreed to meet later, and Sarah went to meet Holly for dinner at the pub. 

Holly didn’t want to eat and was extremely upset, saying that she wished she could take back the things that happened with Sophia. Sarah said she hoped Holly had learned her lesson, and that words were weapons, and things said on the internet can stay forever.

Holly wanted to go, but Sarah said that sometimes loving someone meant saying the things they didn’t want to hear. Sarah told Holly she was concerned that she would spiral without support, but Holly said she just needed time and ran out.
